Perhaps because of age--I am being in my seventies--some of the teeth has got partly broken as a result of which food particles get stuck up. It is becoming a habit with me to use toothpick. My dentist says horizontal filling is not possible. My general physician is not in favour of extraction because of age related health problems. I need to have suggestions for this so that pain or other problems can be avoided. Is their any harm in using wooden toothpick. I do not use any form of tobacco but occasionally drink moderately.

Hello sir sorry to hear that ure suffering with food impaction and you have to use tooth pick to remove the food. Yes sir ure dentist is right by saying tooth picks are harmful for your gums. I wud suggest you to use floss provided your hands are having the dexterity to do flossing. Teeth can be fixed at any age immaterial of the medical status but with caution. Tooth also can be extracted with proper update on the medical history and at times in a hospital environment. I hope I answered your question sir god bless and good luck

Kindly consult a dentist in person for further suggestion. We need more investigations to decide upon treatment. You may need root canal treatment. Advance procedures can be done with laser too. You may consult me in person. Dental tips: - visit a dentist every six months. Gargle your mouth thoroughly after every meal. Scrub gently to clean your tongue with a tongue cleaner. Massaging your gums daily with eucalyptus or peppermint oil in a circular motion throughout the mouth will increase the blood activation and will keep your gums healthy and safe.

Hello. Regular scaling and polishing helps keep your teeth and gums healthy by making it easier for you to keep your teeth clean at home. Or else use over-the-counter whitening toothpastes.

MDS - Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery

Quit habits strictly. Seems like you have oral submucous fibrosis (OSMF). Kindly consult an oral & maxillo facial surgeon in person for further suggestion. We need more investigations with clinical examination to decide upon treatment. You may need conservative or surgical management for mouth opening depending upon the stage of OSMF. Advise full mouth opening, ballooning exercise & side to side movement of the jaw.

  • Cells are what start the healing process in our bodies, and as tooth enamel consists of 90 percent minerals, there aren’t many proteins and cells there. it is said that base of the roots of our teeth we have cells that can provide a certain amount of repair, but not up in the crowns.
  • This leaves a large section of teeth's surface area highly sensitive to the environment to what we breathe and what we eat and drink.

Oil-pulling- The Best Home Remedy For Dental Health You Might Not Even Know About

Oil-pulling- The Best Home Remedy For Dental Health You Might Not Even Know About
The ancient practice of oil-pulling is witnessing a resurgence. More and more people are touting the benefits of coconut oil-pulling for dental health. Do you know what oil pulling is?

Well, oil pulling is an ancient remedy that uses oils, such as coconut oil to clean and detoxify your mouth of germs and bacteria. It is one of the simplest technique, which you can do without a hassle.

To do oil pulling, all you have to do is take one spoon of coconut oil in your mouth for about 10-20 minutes every day and swish it inside the mouth. Swishing it will help remove the germs and all those small pieces of food that gets lodged away inside the teeth. Timing is the key here. Because you have to ensure that it is long enough to break through the plaque and bacteria and absorb toxins, but not so long that it reabsorbs toxins!

Spit it out in a trash can, as coconut oil can solidify in the drains! Rinse well with warm or normal water.

Once that?s done, it is recommended that you brush your teeth thoroughly. You will notice that your teeth will become smoother and shinier. Slowly and steadily, they will become whiter as well.

And don't worry! Unlike other practices, this remedy isn't based on pseudo-science. In fact, researchers suggest that it is actually beneficial and helps in problems such as gingivitis, plaque, microorganisms and reduce problems like bad-breath or gum issues.

While it is incredibly beneficial, it is recommended that oil pulling shouldn't be used as a substitute for regular dental cleaning. So, make sure that you are always brushing your teeth on a regular basis to keep your mouth cleaner, fresher and healthier than ever!

Dental problem, there is some problem in her teeth root, infected roots cause too much pain.
If the root part is infected only two possible options to have. Either to go for root canal treatment in order to save the tooth if possible. Or get the tooth extracted if not able to save the tooth.
