You are in probabilities having difficulty in maintaining attention. As a result you aren't able to register things. So when you try to recall, you fail. You should cut down on distractions when you work. Maybe yoga can help you as well.

Indeed you must be going through a lot of pain now. Your gf has moved on. Yes it's going to hurt for sometime, you don't have to think about forgetting her, you just have to accept that she has left and is no longer an option for you. You must be feeling angry at her for going away but it appears more as sadness in the moment. Begin with removing any object, gift or pic of her etc that reminds you of her from your possession. You can also avoid going to cafes or eateries or parks etc that both of you would have frequent, for sometime. It's important to remind yourself that your exams and career is what will be useful for your future. So collect yourself and prepare for your exams because the loss of time will hurt you more than loss of your gf after few years. Wish you all the best for your exams!

You are suffering with psychological phobia. Due to unprotected sex. Internally you feel guilty and now taking medicine. You do not capacity control your internal thoughts. In that case it is better to not take any risks in life. You are doing one mistake. Next time will not go risky process. Fear is more dangerous than disease. It is common. It also depends up on the personality. Somebody do not care. Somebody too much thinking about small reasons. So you need to consult psychologist. It is possible that the young brother?s arrival has had an effect. You must help him understand, feel and know that he is still loved and wanted. The baby will obviously attract attention being a helpless child and all that, but he will feel jealous and experience the deprivation and feel threatened by him. He is therefore testing your limits to see under what circumstances and up to what extent you will tolerate him; or that you would finally reject him. If you do this, he will be convinced that he is not important. Don?t ever fall into that trap. He is innocently asking for attention and appealing for you not to forget him. He is not choosing a very helpful way going about it, but being a kid he will not know any better. You must oblige him and make an extra effort to reassure him. Then gradually you can get him to like his kid brother, to spend time with him, and to even entertain him.

I am sure such experiences can make you feel bitter and negative towards sexual experiences but it can be treated with psychotherapy and medication (if required). To begin with do this exercise and consult me for same. Do not let negativity surround you. Flexing and strengthening your pubococcygeus (PC) muscle can help you exert more control over ejaculation. (Note that these are also called Kegel exercises, which you might have heard about women doing. The muscle is the same in both sexes.) Locate your PC muscle. Put one or two fingers right behind your testicles. Pretend that you are urinating, then try to stop the flow with a quick muscle contraction. That muscle you just used to stop the flow from the bladder is your PC muscle. Flex the muscle regularly. Try to do 10 to 20 squeezes in a set, 2 or 3 times a day. Do a set whenever you're bored or stationary—like when you're sitting at your desk or in traffic. No one will be able to see that you're doing them. Squeeze your PC muscle when you feel ejaculation coming on. Once the muscle is strong enough, you should be able to hold it off just like stopping flow when urinating. Then there are dietary and lifestyle changes that you have to make but first begin with this. You have to try to get over this feeling. Consult for same.

Hi lybrate-user, it is to say that falling of hair is mostly genetically determined where no one can do anything. But some local scalp conditions are also responsible for falling of hairs. Alcohol - How it Affects Your Body?

If you are a heavy drinker or consume alcohol regularly or frequently, you should know about the harmful effects of alcohol or how it affects your body negatively. When you drink, alcohol gets absorbed into your blood and gets distributed all over your body. Alcohol consumption may cause several physical and emotional changes, which can cause great harm to the body. There are many long-term effects of alcohol abuse, which put your health at great risk.

Here are some ways in which alcohol affects the different parts of your body:

  1. Excretory system: Excessive consumption of alcohol may cause the pancreas to produce toxic substances that interfere with its functioning. As a result, pancreatitis or inflammation of the pancreas is likely. This is a serious problem, capable of destroying the pancreas. Alcohol affects the liver severely. Excessive intake of alcohol may cause alcoholic hepatitis and lead to jaundice development. Chronic liver inflammation may cause severe scarring or cirrhosis. The formation of scar tissue may destroy your liver. When the liver and pancreas do not work properly, there is a risk of hypoglycemia. The damaged pancreas may cause unbalanced blood sugar levels, which is a serious concern.
  2. Central nervous system: Change in behaviour is one of the primary signs of alcohol being in your system. Alcohol travels through the body and quickly reaches your brain and other parts of the central nervous system or CNS. This may lead to slurred speech and it becomes harder for you to talk. Your overall body coordination is affected along with your balance and the ability to walk properly. Over drinking negatively affects your ability to think clearly, impulse control and your ability to form memories. Long term drinking shrinks the frontal lobes of the brain. Damage to the nervous system because of alcohol may cause pain, abnormal sensations in your limbs, and numbness.
  3. Digestive system: Alcohol also affects your digestive system in several ways. Alcohol can affect the entire digestive system starting from the mouth to the colon and a single incident of excessive drinking can wreck parts of the digestive tract.
  4. Organ damage: Alcohol abuse damages your salivary glands, which cause irritation in the tongue and month. This may result in gum disease, tooth disease or tooth decay. Ulcers in the oesophagus or food pipe, acid reflux and heartburn are other impacts. Excessive drinking may also lead to stomach ulcers and inflammation of the stomach lining.

Inflammation of the pancreas disrupts its ability to help the process of digestion and regulate effective metabolism. Damage to the digestive system from alcohol abuse can also cause diarrhoea, gas, abdominal fullness. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a general physician.

There is something distracting you and it usually is related to stress, even if you don't feel it or know it. But because of your age I suspect that the adolescent issues with regard to hormones may be affecting your ability to concentrate and remember. When the hormones play up, it lasts for a period of close to two years and during that time you could be influenced by three signs directly impacted by the chemical: you will tend to become aggressive and rebellious, you will become sexually active, and you will have acne and pimple problems. The hormonal imbalances may not only impact your memory because of the chemical but also bring some distractions that come with it. But you may work on the following even if the hormones kick in: Daily exercise of at least half an hour is a must. Even if you go to a gym, ask for aerobic and/or callisthenic exercises with whatever else you are doing. A healthy body harbors a healthy mind. With regard to memory, it is very important that your brain and body is ideally rested to be able to recall whatever is required, rather comfortably. Puzzles pose problems to the brain that help it to use new pathways and neurons, which give the brain considerable exercise. It taxes the left brain to use logic to solve the myriad possibilities which other activities do not stimulate. Crosswords are excellent for vocabulary learning and use. Jigsaws and Rubik cube stimulate different permutations to finally settle on the most likely one. Picture completion and anagrams help approach problem-solving from several angles. Do Sudoku, and memory co-relation activities and skills. Have a good night’s sleep, have a good breakfast of more proteins, meditate often, remain free of stress, eat a lot of fiber (whole grains, fruits and vegetables), nuts, avocado, eat dark chocolate, consume less of fat and use olive oil instead, do Yoga meditation exercises, etc. You need to check out if you are stronger visual or auditory. The visual is a better mode than the auditory. However, if you combine the two modes, you will get the best concentration. Have a special place of learning, which should be well lit, with soft painted walls, well-ventilated, with no distractions. When you get bored, study by writing. If you repeat learning, at least, five to seven times, you will apparently remember for a longer time. Sit comfortably but do not slouch. The reading material should be of a fairly large print. Study at small intervals of about 40 minutes and then take a break or change the subject. Short-term memory is a faculty of the left brain, and long-term memory is a feature of the right brain. When people are stressed, they tend to favor the right brain and abandon the left brain, where short-term memory resides. So, it is really very simple: deal with the stress and activate left brain functions. Here are a few suggestions to activate left brain function: shut your left nostril and breathe, move your eyes from right to left and vice versa for at least half a minute at a time, and do callisthenic exercises with some form of counting, regularly. There is a new exercise called Super Brain Yoga, which is done by holding the right earlobe with your left thumb and index finger, and the left earlobe with your right hand’s thumb and index finger. In this position, you must squat down and rise up and do this for five minutes every day. There is some memory enhancing techniques and study methods that your teacher will be able to guide you with. If your home life is full of distractions and stress, it is likely to affect your memory, adversely. In that case, I suggest that the family goes for counseling too. The following foods do help too: Blueberries, walnuts, turmeric, Spinach, tomatoes, broccoli, acorn squash, green tea, oily fish, boiled egg, turkey, apples, oatmeal, leafy greens, lentils, pumpkin seeds, avocado, cinnamon, thyme, sunflower seeds, and red wine. Avoid sugar and junk food. You may also include these noted foods that are good for your brain health: Brain-Friendly Foods MIND stands for Mediterranean-DASH Intervention for Neurodegenerative Delay. But the MIND approach “specifically includes foods and nutrients that medical literature and data show to be good for the brain, such as berries,” says Martha Clare Morris, ScD, director of nutrition and nutritional epidemiology at Rush University Medical Center. You eat things from these 10 food groups: •Green leafy vegetables (like spinach and salad greens): At least six servings a week •Other vegetables: At least one a day •Nuts: Five servings a week •Berries: Two or more servings a week •Beans: At least three servings a week •Whole grains: Three or more servings a day •Fish: Once a week •Poultry (like chicken or turkey): Two times a week •Olive oil: Use it as your main cooking oil. •Wine: One glass a day You avoid: •Red meat: Less than four servings a week •Butter and margarine: Less than a tablespoon daily •Cheese: Less than one serving a week •Pastries and sweets: Less than five servings a week •Fried or fast food: Less than one serving a week.

Hi I am male working in night shift for past 7 years and my age is 29. My problem is am unable talk frequently with any of them always thinking something and concentration going down feeling lonely feeling very tired and long sleep. Don't care for anything. Please help me on this how I am come out from this.

You may be into a depression. The night shift for so many years is not at all good for your system. You are breaking your bio-rhythm in a gross manner so that your body bio-clock will be out of sync with the normal time by a huge margin. This affects three important aspects of your life: the energy levels, the mood levels, and the metabolic rate. This is further known to skew your orientation to such an extent that it like going through jetlag every day without your knowledge or its seeming effect! your social life is also gone for a toss in the bargain. If this is the only problem, you are fortunate indeed. All you have to do is to get back to a daytime shift, if that can be arranged. If it is the typical depression, then it sounds like it is anger related and you must meet with a counselor immediately and deal with your feelings. If it a combination of the shift and the depression, I would still recommend a change in the work timings to see what effect that has. In my opinion, it will work.

I'm loosing hope in life. I get so hyper at times that I feel like killing myself. The thought of death is always on my mind. I have two kids I'm married for 12yrs. I don't get the urge for sex also as a result there is constant fights between us. I just don't want to live anymore. I was the reason for my dads death; he was taking my tension. Please help.

Anxiety is a thought disorder, which can be managed through thought and emotional management along with medications. This can target the dysfunctional thought process that you could be having which are the root cause of anxiety. Counselling for anxiety management can help you in the following way: 1. See your problem in smaller bits and pieces, analyse each bit and seek solutions for each separately. If you see the problem as a whole and too closely, it can become overwhelming and too much work causing anxiety which could have given you gas and bp. 2. Be realistic: know your strengths and do what you can to the extent possible. Knowing your limitations is equally important, so that you don't overextend yourself and then feel inadequate /failure. In this case, you could take help of a relative, colleague, friend, professional who has the expertise in this field. This will make your work easier. 3. Learn to delegate work: you would be able to judge who all and which resources in your environment can become an opportunity which you can use to get your work done. For eg. If you are finding office work too demanding and are unable to take out time for exercising everyday, then it's possible that you realise that there is some space in your office where you can put up a small personal gym and you can exercise there regularly. You couldalso delegate some of your work to a capable colleague, who is agreeable to help you at that time, because you have helped him sometime back when he was having a bad back. 4. Prioritise and organise: you would want to decide which of your activities are time wasters and which activities are important. This will save you time if you start giving less time to unproductive activities. Organising your day/week/month in advance will help you put work in place and see a pattern for doing activities which will be more productive for you. Successful people don't work hard. They just use their time and skills smartly. 5. Be flexible: when you are planning, be flexible in how you want to carry out certain activities. Some things which are not in your control for eg. Weather, may put a spoke in plan for the day. Be ready to make last minute changes. And do something else during that time so that time is not wasted. It's better to have an alternate plan in store usually. 6. Have faith and hope: trust yourself and others to carry out their jobs. Know each ones strengths and limitations. Be realistic in your expectations and do your best. Now leave it to god to do his magic. This is very important. If it has to happen, it will. If it didn't happen, then don't lose hope. It will happen another time. Or maybe it wasn't meant to happen this way. Whatever it is. Don't take life too seriously. Nothing is more important than your health and life. This might be a case of ocd (obsessive compulsive disorder), which can be effectively treated by proper evaluation and pharmacological treatments and some form of psychotherapies. Consult a psychiatrist at the earliest.
