Dear lybrate-user, welcome to lybrate. At your age, memory problems like amnesia, dementia or alzheimer's are not common. Many young people do complain having problems with memory. These problems are due to either they are too busy or due to anxiety and stress. Busy people use organizers or employ a personal assistant because they can't remember every task. You need to understand this. If you still say, you are having memory problems, we need to check your memory using memory test. You may contact psychologist or neurologist for memory test and further investigation. Take care.

Hello Lybrate user. Time heals everything. There is no medicine available which you can consume and forget someone immediately. Keep yourself engaged in doing what you love or like. One bad chapter doesn't mean the life is over. Save only those memories which gives twinkle in your eyes and not wrinkles on your face. You meet many temporary people when you are 18-25 years old. There was a time when I was ready to sacrifice everything and thought of suicide as I couldn't take the rejection from a girl I was in love with. But eventually it was all set fine. Today when I look back I don't regret whatever happened in the past. It's life. You can not expect everything to happen as per your convenience. There has to be ups and downs in the lifeline to keep it going. It's just a matter of time. Have patience and believe in best yet to come. All the best!

Depression - Homeopathic Treatment For It!

Depression - Homeopathic Treatment For It!

Depression is a mental state which is not easily identified in its early stages; it is evident only when the symptoms become obvious. You may overlook it as a passing phase, and assume it to be normal. The people around you may also get used to the symptoms and accommodate accordingly. This can make the identification of depression even more complicated. Homeopathic treatments are entirely natural and do not carry any side effects. They are holistic treatments that get rid of the cause instead of just treating the symptoms of depression. The various homeopathic remedies for depression are:

  1. For anxiety related depression: Aconite is a homeopathic remedy that is used in the treatment of anxiety. The symptoms that it is used to treat are the ones, which occur suddenly and make you extremely pessimistic. For acute panic attacks, this medicine is very effective. Some other medicines that are also used to treat anxiety are Argentum Nitricum and Arsenic album.
  2. For depression in teenagers: Kali phos is a very effective homeopathic remedy for treating depression in teenagers, the causes of which are usually hormonal changes and high levels of stress. In some cases, depression may also be triggered by genetic factors. Ignatia is also used to treat depression in teenagers.
  3. Stress related depression: Kali phos is used to treat stress-related depression. It also helps in treating fatigue with homeopathy.
  4. Insomnia that results from depression: To remedy insomnia resulting from depression, you can opt for Kali Phos and Coffea Cruda.
  5. Severe depression: If the symptoms of depression are very severe and include suicidal tendencies, Aurum Metallicum may be recommended.
  6. Depression resulting from menopause: It is common for a woman to undergo a phase(s) of depression during menopause. The homeopathic remedies that are used in the treatment of this condition are Lachesis and sepia.
  7. Seasonal affective disorder: This type of disorder usually occurs during the winter season. The treatment for this disorder is prescribed after a proper diagnosis of the symptoms. Ignatia is a remedy that is usually recommended. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a Homeopath.

The best way to get rid of it to divert your mind to some constructive practical things rather than been only spiritual. Worshipping god is a good thing, but totally in it will develop such things in your mind. If whole day you work very hard and keep yourself busy, then you will sleep tight at night as your body will get tired. Try this and see if it helps.

I am 19 years old male. It's been a year I am smoking. However I have stopped smoking completely now. But I face difficulty to breathe, i. E I face prolonged nasal congestion (which gets totally cleared sometimes). I can't smell efficiently as before. I have heard that our body cures itself and so I might recover. But what steps should I take?

Reparenting Technique, BA, BEd
Psychologist, Bangalore
It is very unlikely that that little smoking could have caused this kind of effect. Since it is a nasal problem I suggest you meet with an ent specialist and determine what exactly this blockage is all about and get it treated soon. It may or may not have anything to do with the effects of tobacco consumption. The body does heal itself but if the contagion far exceeds its resources, you must seek alternative remedial measures to help the body deal with it with some help. As for steps to be taken: all exercises that tax your respiratory systems are very good for you i. E. Aerobic exercises. Yoga and meditation will also do very well. By itself breathing difficulty may have a lot to do with unexpressed feelings particularly sadness and fear. Meet with a counselor to deal with these emotions to support your recovery from this angle.

You do not value the person you are. This is the reason that whenever someone says something ,you feel they are trying to insult you or point out your mistakes. To begin with - make a list of your good qualities - appreciate yourself for what you can do for yourself and others. whenever you have tears in your eyes and are about to cry - ask yourself - what exactly is hurting me? Others are not always right. Evaluate yourself what others are saying about you - if what they are saying is right , try to change your habits . If you do not agree with what they are saying about you , you need not even heed to it - dhyan mat do . Set yourself some goals - work towards achieving them - this will help you feel confident about yourself.

Hello! I want to study hard but not able to concentrate what should I do? Water time I got to study I was busy with social networking at going on phone. I want to make a proper schedule for every thing. May you help me please.

Reparenting Technique, BA, BEd
Psychologist, Bangalore
Yes, you must schedule your day giving a lot of emphasis to your study routine. You will get lots of time later on in life to do networking and talking on the phone. Do not lose this opportunity by messing up your performance. You are already displaying some loss of self-control and this could work against you in the long run too. Have a good night?s sleep, have a good breakfast of more proteins, meditate often, remain free of stress, eat a lot of fiber (whole grains, fruits and vegetables), nuts, avocado, eat dark chocolate, do Yoga meditation exercises, etc. Recently they have discovered that moderate consumption of red wine and peanuts do help. You need to check out if you are stronger visual or auditory. The visual is a better mode than the auditory. However, if you combine the two modes, you will get the best concentration. Have a special place of learning, which should be well lit, with soft painted walls, well-ventilated, with no distractions. When you get bored, study by writing. If you repeat learning at least five to seven times, you will apparently remember for a longer time. Sit comfortably but do not slouch. The reading material should be of a fairly large print. Study at small intervals of about 40 minutes and then take a break or change the subject. If you plan any studying in the afternoon, do only written work, because your biorhythms dip during this time. For subjects that have lengthy portions you can reduce them by making short notes and studying smaller portions instead. If you still find it difficult to study do group study with seriously interested students. If you need some external pressure, then you can go for tuitions or attend tutorials. Short-term memory is a faculty of the left brain, and long-term memory is a feature of the right brain. When people are stressed, they tend to favor the right brain and abandon the left brain, where short-term memory resides. So, it is really very simple: deal with the stress and activate left brain functions. Here are a few suggestions to activate left brain function: shut your left nostril and breathe, move your eyes from right to left and vice versa for at least half a minute at a time, and do callisthenic exercises with some form of counting, regularly. There are some memory enhancing techniques and study methods that your teacher will be able to guide you with.

Dear Lybrate user, Tobacco is addictive. Cigarette also contains 4000+ carcinogenic chemicals other than nicotine. There are no medicines or short cuts available to keep your health intact while continue smoking. Please quit smoking. The best method is to leave it and continue with your will power. There are other methods like Nicotine Replacement therapy and pharmacotherapy combined. But still you will need will power. You may consult a physician or deaddiction therapist or a rehabilitation facility for further advise. Take care.

Since you are already on medication I suggest you talk to your treating Psychiatrist and convey your current symptoms to them. It is possible that some changes in medication dosages will help improve the symptoms. As they are familiar with your history it is always better to have a discussion with them regarding this situation.  Do not experiment on your own with the medication and dosages as these trials will cause worsening of your symptoms and may result in significant side effects. It is not advisable to make any changes in medication on your own. Consult your treating Psychiatrist and follow what is prescribed.
