I have a newborn baby of one day which TLC is 24700 and random sugar is 31. Now my baby is admitted in NICU by a doctor and the doctor is saying that he will take minimum 7 days to recover. Now I want to know that is it a critical situation or normal. Now I want suggestions from your side. Thank you.

Hypoglycemia in Newborn is a medical emergency. It needs close monitoring and prompt treatment. Any delay in detection & appropriate therapy can have serious sequelae lifelong as it is a treatable cause of mental retardation. Associated conditions like Sepsis are to be investigated and treated. A baby with Neonatal Hypoglycemia is a high-risk baby and needs long-term follow-up for neurodevelopmental disorders.

My child is infected by virus in blood. And as per blood test CRP is 149 mg/l. Now we have given for culture test ? Doctors not tellung wt is the problem fr my child.

High CRP is pointing to bacterial Sepsis / inflammation. Consult Pediatrician without delay. Will need blood culture , Lumbar Puncture & CSF study to rule out Sepsis/ Meningitis.

We need to Feed my 3wks old baby lactozen 1 whenever we are travelling or I am not around. We usually give 30ml water n 1scoop lactozen. Is it sufficient or we need to increase the amount?

Pediatrician, Cuttack
Avoid tin food which has multiple adverse effects on baby. Exclusive breastfeeding for first 6 months is ideal. Breasrfeeding during travel is not in issue for the greater interest of your baby's good health in future.
