If you don't replace then adjacent teeth and opposite teeth will loosen and finally it will fall as age progress, So my suggestion is to replace your missing teeth as soon as possible, I think you may also require cleaning, kindly consult near by dentist soon, make sure you clean your tongue while brushing, brush twice a day, consume water frequently, include fresh fruits and vegetables in your diet, rinse your moth with water each and every time after you eat.

Perhaps because of age--I am being in my seventies--some of the teeth has got partly broken as a result of which food particles get stuck up. It is becoming a habit with me to use toothpick. My dentist says horizontal filling is not possible. My general physician is not in favour of extraction because of age related health problems. I need to have suggestions for this so that pain or other problems can be avoided. Is their any harm in using wooden toothpick. I do not use any form of tobacco but occasionally drink moderately.

Hello sir sorry to hear that ure suffering with food impaction and you have to use tooth pick to remove the food. Yes sir ure dentist is right by saying tooth picks are harmful for your gums. I wud suggest you to use floss provided your hands are having the dexterity to do flossing. Teeth can be fixed at any age immaterial of the medical status but with caution. Tooth also can be extracted with proper update on the medical history and at times in a hospital environment. I hope I answered your question sir god bless and good luck

Always rinse your tooth brush thoroughly after brushing, and allow it to air-dry before using it again.

Ulcers. What causes them? I have ulcers once in a while, and when I do they come in groups of 3,4,5 or even 6 at once. The ulcer gels aren't very effective. They stay for a week before fading away. They are all over the mouth and tongue. Sometimes they begin with wide redness then a big ulcer! How can I never get ulcers?

Hi lybrate-user, thanks for asking. Tongue is the mirror of your digestive system. Mouth and tongue ulcers are due to indigestion or impairment of gastrointestinal flora. You have to improve your dietary habits in order to get complete relief from recurrent mouth ulcers. Please have a paid online consultation with me through Lybrate so that I can give you detailed advice and proper treatment.

Patients should visit their endodontists (especially trained to perform root canal treatment) or general dentist after the root canal treatment to have proper restorative work completed on the tooth.

Hi, apply plantago q/ few drops on cotton swab, place it on the affected tooth/ teeth and press it tightly, do it thrice a day. Orally, take mag. Phos. 6x/ after every 2 hours. Cavity can be the reason for toothache. Do visit a dentist for proper diagnosis, share the reports with me. In case possible, will help you in treating your problem. Home-remedies: -rub a few drops of clove oil or can even press 2-3 cloves in between the teeth on the affected tooth several times daily until the ache goes away. -rub a few drops on the affected tooth several times daily until the ache goes away. -apply a cool compress to outside of mouth or cheek. -mix 1 tsp of salt in a glass of warm water. If you quit khaini 100% then the treatment will work and all leucoplakias do not convert into cancer. But risk will be for life long. So to reduce risk you must be on medications and observation by an oral medicine/ oral pathologist/ oral surgeon specialists for at least 3-5 years from now. If the problem subsides, your problem can be assumed to be on lesser and lesser risk.
