I am 36 years 6' 85 kg, Before six months I had sprain in my wrist due to playing badminton my wrist was swelled and unable to move frequently that time. Now situation is improved and no pain in normal situation but wrist is snapping when I move my wrist. And if when I play badminton now some stress n slightly pain come again in my wrist. Pls advice what the reason n suggest required diagnosis and treatment if necessary.

Hello Lybrate user Wrist muscles are quite weak and unable to bear load while playing badminton beacuse of change in position of wrist & hand. Do warm water exercises of wrist and strengthening exercise. Avoid jerky movements at wrist, apply gently muscle relaxant ointment/gel. Wear wrist band while working to provide support to joint. Exercises with advice of qualified physiotherapist only.

As arthritis is very common that you get generally bilaterally. Ice therapy would definitely help to reduce the inflammation. We also advise you to use knee cap which would help to prevent the knee from damaging further and also to maintain the quadriceps muscle tone. You can take Ultrasonic therapy in one of the nearby physiotherapy clinics which would help to heal the damaged cartilages along with shortwave diathermy which would help to improve the blood circulation. Simple Knee Exercies Specific knee exercises will also help ie. Keeping ball underneath the knee and keep pressing it. That's the simple exercise which will help you to strengthen the knee Ice therapy would definitely help to reduce the inflammation. We also advise you to use knee cap which would help to prevent the knee from damaging further and also to maintain the quadriceps muscle tone. Investigations advised - hb, tlc, dlc, esr, sugar f & pp, uric acid, vit d3 urine r/e x ray of the affected part. Anyway you may try- sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Spring beds, folding beds or thick mattress are harmful do hot fomentation. Paracetamol 250mg od & sos x 5days. Caldikind plus 1tab od x10. Do knee & general exercises. It may have to be further investigated. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take. If no relief in 4_5 days, then inform again. Unless diabetes is controlled, no treatment will work.

Wrist pain usually occurs because of unnoticed injury, may be hard push or pull or forceful grip. Rule out diabetes & vit. D deficiency or any other metabolic disorder. Lybrate-user ji. Looking to your prblm. Your weight is much more than wht you should have according to your height. You can hv a maximum wt of 74 kg. So try nd reduce your wt by 18-19 kgs. You may also b hving some arthritis due to your age. As cartilage of your knee must b damaged. Nd to rejuvunate it you need to take some medicines. For that you need to consult me privately. Nd yes as far as possible do not use staircase till you reduce your wt to 74 kg. Do not bend your knee for more than 90 degree. I mean stop using indian toilets nd use western toilets. Use dining table for taking lunch or dinner. I mean do not sit on the floor.

Caldikind plus 1tab od x10. Do neck back knee & general exercises. It may have to be further investigated. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take. you are suffering from neurology problem most probably its carpal tunnel syndrome or cervical radiculopathy...get your fbs , tft test and consult a nearby neurologist to localise the disease

First you need to take a total rest for few days and apply hot water bag over the back region and after few days rest and relieve pain you can consult to physiotherapist for the exercises. Do the exercises regularly suggested by physiotherapist for at least 6 months (rehabilitation) to avoid reoccurrence of the same problem.

From last few months I am suffering from joints pain and swelling my Dr. said that it's becoz of aamvat. And said to check my Ra factor. I have done my Ra factor test it's 9.4. Then also my Dr. is saying your symptoms and pain with swelling is same as aamvat. So what should I do shall I go for the treatment or no. Please help I am confused.

Dear lybrate-user, I would suggest you to apply hot water bag to the swollen and painful joints, If small joints like hand and foots are involved then Do hot water fermentation over joints and do mobility exercises for all joints. It will help you to improve your condition.

Keep your leg raised while sitting or lying quadriceps strengthening exercises- quad clenches: lie flat on your back or sit upright on a chair with leg kept horizontally on another surface. Now, tighten the muscle on the front of the thigh by pushing your knee down. You should feel your thigh muscles clench, hold for 3 secs. Repeat 10 times twice a day.

I met with and accident few months back and it caused my leg to have a major ligment problem. After few days it got recovered by itself and recently while playing my leg slipped at knee and it hurted again. Then went through tests and reports are saying that my legments are completly torned and doctor suggested for a legment surgery. Now I think it is recovering again and is causing no more pain. At the age of 29yrs if you want to pursue sports, acl tear plus one more ligamnet injury/meniscus injury will definitely require surgery. It is better to get operated by arthroscopy so that your recovery will be faster. You will have to take care i. E. Wear brace for atleast three months from the date of surgery.

Hi, Apply Bakson’s Rheum Aid oil gently (2-3 times a day) and take orally Bakson’s Rheum-Aid syrup/ 1 tablespoon thrice daily. Also, increase your dietary intake of calcium which is present in green leafy vegetables, milk, milk products, sea food, white legumes, dried fig, black-eyed peas, almonds, oranges, seasame seeds. And vitamin D which is essential for absorption of calcium in our body and is synthesized naturally after getting exposed to sunlight, so early morning sunlight for 10-15 min. 2-3 times a day is mandatory. Hi my name is vinay I want to ask a question. My mother is suffered from back pain so what can I do in this situation.
I understand your concern for your mother. We are coming across lot of females complaining of back pain these days. Here could be many reasons for back pain. Many of the problems occur for which we are not aware. Let me recommend you the treatment as well as the precautions you can tell her to do at home to get away her backache. Precautions: 1. Avoid forward bending, if required then bend your knees first and then bend forward. 2. Avoid weight lifting. 3. Sit in chairs or car seats with proper back support. 4. Try to sleep in a position that helps you maintain the curve in your back like sidelying. 5. Get enough vit d from sun as vit d keep bones strong including spine, 6. Drink plenty of water to enhance the inter vertebral disks 7. Avoid standing in the one position for a long time. 8. Try to sleep in a position that helps you maintain the curve in your back. Treatment- 1. Apply ice or heat which ever suits you directly to the area of low back pain will decrease swelling and inflammation, and ease your discomfort. Apply it for 10 to 15 minutes only. 2. Relaxing for 5 minutes after ice or heat treatment. Massage - ask someone to massage your painful area using fingers or thumb. Massage using kneading technique. Slightly press the thumb and start rotating as it helps to induce relaxation, relieve pain, and reduce levels of stress chemicals, such as cortisol and noradrenaline. It will give you pain relief for time being. 3. After massage again relax for 5 min and apply any pain relieving ointment eg - volini or oraflame gel etc. Make sure not to do massage with the gel, it should not penetrate the body. Just a topical application of gel should be done. 4. Again relax your body for 5 minutes and perform some normal back extension and hamstring stretching exercises to get relief from your pain. While performing exercises if pain occurs then would recommend you to stop doing exercise. Massage or slightly rub the painful area and consult your near by physio to diagnose the actual cause of the pain as he/she can guide you proper exercise plan which will be beneficial for you after checking grade of your back pain. For any doubt please inform. Best regards.
