My husband is having drinking habit from his 9th std age. Now he is 37 years old. He is a pharmaceutical manager. His job is a field work. He says due to the physical strains, mental worries and the financial constrains he is drinking unavoidably. But now a days he is becoming addict to alcohol. He use to drink daily. Some times more than two larges. If one day he miss to drink his mind craving for drinks and he become irresistible. And also he is having smoking habit. He smokes 1 full packet cigarette per day. Whenever he skips drinking for more than 2 days head ache stars to him and always angry on family members. His eyes and nails turned to yellow color. I suspect this may be the symptoms of liver malfunctioning. His lips and teeth are turned black due to nicotine toxins. He breaths very tough. Even he is breathing hard when speaking. He spends all most half of his salary for drinking. Moreover he is becoming a debtor having debts in many banks and private loan providers. We have 3 kids. The condition of my family is really very bad. I want him to come out of this habit completely. I joined him in a addiction center also before 8 months. He stayed there for 1 month and was remained non drinker for 5 months after coming from the deaddiction center. But unfortunately he started his habit again. He is very chronic. Sometimes he hates his habits and wants to come out. Sometimes he will not obey my words and behave harsh to drink. He is psychologically affected a lot. He attempted for suicide for 2 times. He is not ready to come to meet doctor. I am helpless. I came to know from a friend that homeopathy medicines can cure addiction and with the help of homeopathy treatment a person can over come the drinking habit for lifetime. But I do not know whom to approach and which doctor is best to consult. home doctors whoever read this, kindly help me. Pls guide me what are the medicines to be taken, in what potential or power, dosage, how many times a day, how long the medicines have to be taken etc.
Hi. Yes, there are homoeopathic medicines which will help your husband to get rid of his addiction of smoking and drinking! give your husband homoeopathic medicines - schwabe's daphne indica and quercus robur 1x - both thrice daily for 6 months regularly. Management: give him fresh, nutritive, balanced and healthy food consisting more of seasonal fruits, green vegetables, pulses, legumes, nuts, flaxseeds, 10-12 glasses of water in a day, 6-8hrs. Of sleep daily and think healthy! yoga poses: -marichyasana: it is performed by sitting in a comfortable position on the floor. Sit cross-legged on the floor and pull your right thigh towards your chest. Twist your body towards the right side. Repeat the twist on the left side. -suryanamaskar: to begin with, hold your hands folded in front of you (as in the indian namaskara pose) and look at the sun. Raise your hands straight upwards in the folded position. Bend down and touch your feet. Stretch one leg outwards and arch your body backwards. Bend forward in the downward dog pose and then rest your entire body on your belly. Next, slowly lift up your torso in the cobra pose. Now, return back to the downward dog pose and all the other poses you have performed before it in the return sequence. Ultimately, you will return to the folded hands pose which you have started with. -baddha konasana is performed in a seated posture. Start by sitting with your legs stretched outwards. Now fold one leg and then the next, and place them with the soles of the feet in contact with each other. Remain seated in the position for as long as you can. -balasana helps in combating alcoholism by strengthening the mind of the alcohol addict. This asana relieves mental stress and fatigue and improves blood circulation to the brain. To perform this asana, kneel down, touch the floor with your forehead and stretch out your hands in the front. Revert.

Dear , you should understand the difference between mental disorder and mental disease. Mental disease needs psychiatric treatment and mental disease needs psychological therapies. You are having stress and anxiety and they are classified under simple mental disorders. Therefore you will need psychological therapies. Online counseling, psychotherapy and life style changes should help you. From the given information, I am unable to get the full details. Post a detailed private question to me. I will help you manage your anxiety disorder. Take care.

Discuss your differences and sort it out. Nothing is impossible. Love and respect for females are very important aspect.
I lost somebody close last year and since then feel very depressed and prefer keeping to myself all the time .please help me.
Dear lybrate-user, Usually a grief reaction with depressive symptoms could happen for 6 months after you lost a loved one. However, is it is more than 6 months and depressive symptoms is interfering with your daily functioning, you should seek help. Though you do not feel like going out, activity is a natural mood enhancer and might start with going to temple/church/library daily might help you to improve your mood. Also you could consider consulting clinical Psychologist and take grief therapy to overcome the situation. A proper closure of your relationship with your loved one would help. All the best for your speedy recovery.

I am 40 years old who is in quite good health. I suffer from health anxiety. I am always worried that something's wrong with me for which I get unnecessary tests done. The results always come out negative. I also have mild BP which fluctuates between 130/82 to 140/90. I am having metolar xr 25 in the morning and amlosafe 2.5 in the night. I also get anxiety when I see the doctor checking my BP and once my BP rose to 140/100. Am now being prescribed mild anti anxiety medications (contains lorazepam) of 0.25 mg. I could not sleep at night thinking whether I would get sleep or not. This medication is helping me. Should I continue with the same power of BP medications? And can I continue with the anti anxiety medications. I exercise an hour daily. Please let me know. Whether I am ok or need to see a therapist.
The exercise you're doing is wonderful. You have become hypochondriacal and this is because of a deep rooted fear. You will need to meet with a counselor and learn to deal with your fear. Fear always tend to find a form, and in your case it has found medical complications the form. You will become quite suggestible to bodily misperceptions and feel you have a serious problem. In the bargain you will auto-suggest and create actual medical problems including your hypertension. Now however you cannot discard the medication until you have learned to deal with this fear, learned some relaxation exercises through yoga and meditation. Sleep is very important and that can be induced by the simple breathing pattern 4-7-8 i.e. Breathe in for 4 counts through your nostrils, hold the breath for 7 counts, and release the air through your mouth with a whoosh sound for 8 counts. Do not stop any medication without the consultation and approval of your doctor.

I am chewing tobacco products from past 5 years. I want to quit with tobacco using but every time I try I fail. Please suggest a way?
If you are an occasional smoker - with public messages, health awareness programs and your own doctors advice, you can quit. If you are a regular smoker, motivational therapy with a trained psychotherapist or a psychiatrist and enormous will power will help you quit. If you are a diseased smoker, consult a de addiction psychiatrist at the earliest. He may give you anti-smoking medications and de addiction treatment. The same applies to chewing tobbacco.

Feel depressed feel like committing side not interested to live becoz of love failure. Can't concentrate in anything life getting frustrated. Hate advicising from others.
Lybrate user ,when we are in love its amazing feeling but understand one thing every one has some role and some time upto which he/she can be there and when that time will be over that person has to leave .what happened is past no one can change that neither we can do anything regarding that .you should proud of yourself that you loved some one deeply and truely ,its his fault that he did't value it but true love will never end. We can not make any change in past its just impossible what any one can do is to make himself happy, we cannot change the thinking and approach of others but its in our hand that we can make ourself happy. We get only one life after that we don't know what will happen in future, what we can do is to live every second of life ,enjoy every moment of life ,is it really right that for some one else you are upset? This is the time that you should start thinking about yourself only about yourself what do you want to be, what do you want to eat, to do, your career, your friends, your likings etc. Develop some hobby, make some good friends, make yourself busy, as much you will think you will get frustrate and will gain nothing, live only for yourself, and this can be possible when you will involve yourself in some other things first start from joining any hobby class and make any good friend with whom you can share everything .you can take help of any counsellor ,you can also contact me regarding this. Take care.

Tremors, feeling anxious or nervous, sense of panic, sweating, increased heartbeat, feeling of impending doom, stomach discomfort, dizziness etc are signs of anxiety. These can be debilitating. If the anxiety is overwhelming, consult a Psychiatrist at the earliest. With the right medication and counseling, it is likely your symptoms will improve.
