To gain some weight, you need to eat healthy. Take small meals but eat something solid every 2 hours. 1. Take at least two fruits per day and one glass fruit juice. 2. Take one peanut butter sandwich daily. 3. Eat 20 almonds / cashew daily 4. Drink full cream milk, curd, lassi, chikoo shakes etc. 5. If your are non veg you can have more eggs, chicken, fish. 6. Dals have good protien. Have more rajma, kabuli chana, soya beans etc. 7. Avoid junk food and colas. Avoid chips and other namkeen. 8. No need for any supplements. Nature has best products. 9. Go for regular walks / exercise / do yoga. Sleep well. 10. Be free from Stress. Take deworming tablets every six month.  Take test for Thyroid and Blood Sugar. All the best.

It is good that you are avoiding gyms bec most gyms are commercial hype on the tempted youth. Simply go back to the simple living high thinking pattern of the timeless vedic culture, drink hot cup of cow's milk, be a strict vegetarian and feel healthy in mind, body and soul. The proof of pudding is in the eating. So try it, only investment required is your faith.

I don't feel energetic throughout the day. I sleep for 12-13 hours unintentionally. Though I do not do any physical activity then also. I do not feel like doing anything physically neither I want to study n like to socialize. I was not like dis before but I realy want to change now but I do not hav any motivation to do anything, whether its career wise or personal life or relationship wid family or friends. I know its not good but I dnt feel like to change anything. Please help me.

I think that you have depression and there are some major ramifications to take into account. I believe there may be some genetic predisposition or there has been some childhood issue, related to anger, that needs urgent attention. You must go and meet with a counselor immediately and if that person advises that you meet with a doctor you must do so and cooperate to your utmost. Please visit these professionals along with your parents. In the meantime please do the following sincerely because you could resolve the problem better with good cooperation: Have a good night’s sleep, have a good breakfast of more proteins, meditate often, remain free of stress, eat a lot of fiber, nuts, avocado, exercise regularly, eat dark chocolate, do Yoga meditation exercises, etc. I suggest you do the opposite of what this depression makes you feel like doing (actually, not doing): you will need to fight this condition. You must become active; stay upright during the daylight time; meet people; never sleep during the day, wake up by 6 am every day, play some active games, especially contact games, do physical exercises, talk to people and join some social clubs, attend Yoga classes etc. Watch sitcoms on TV or comedies and cheer yourself up. Go for excursions in groups, for outings, camps, conferences, and religious conventions. Get a pet dog and spend time training it, exercising it and relating to it. Expose yourself to some sunlight every day, at least, 30 minutes but not in the scorching heat. Whatever happens, please incorporate these three important adaptations in your life: always be responsible, be respectful, and be functional. If you did these three, lots of things will go well in life. Please pray and have faith in God to alleviate your sufferings. Don’t wait for others to help. Use your own motivation, which might be at its lowest, but persevere and win this battle. Above all to be really happy, you need to live in love and for love. Learn all about emotions and how to handle them and that will get you out of the depression rather easily and quickly. A counselor is there only to facilitate you, all the hard word must come from you, and your cooperation with that person is very critical for your success. Be positive every day and learn to be contented with what you have. Do some left brain exercises: it is the happy brain. Here are a few suggestions: shut your left nostril and breathe, move your eyes from right to left and vice versa for at least half a minute at a time, and do callisthenic exercises with some form of counting, regularly. Whatever happens please cooperate with the therapy and do not discontinue until the condition is completely resolved.

Overweight 1. Do regular aerobic exercise like brisk walking/jogging/running/cycling/swimming for 1 hour daily 2. Control diet 3. Avoid sweets, sugar, oily, fatty, excess calorie/cholesterol, saturated fat and carbohydrate rich diet. Take green leafy vegetables/fruits/salads. Drink plenty of water. Avoid junk food, bakery items like pizza/burger/cookies, soft drink etc 4. Do yoga, pranayama, deep breathing exercise for cough and cold1. Do warm saline gurgling and steam inhalation with karvol plus inhalant capsule 2-3 times daily. Put otrivin nasal drop one drop thrice daily. 2. Take viscodyne d syrup 2 tsf 2-3 times daily if you have dry cough or viscodyne syrup 2 tsf three times daily if you have cough with sputum.

Hi thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from fortis hospital, new delhi. Most of your conditions needs attention from a general physician/diabetologist but I can advise you regarding your knee pain. Even your foot swelling probably does not have a musculoskeletal cause, but still I can tell you that persistent swelling in foot region can be due to deranged kft, lft, thyroid profile and issues with heart. Sometimes even chronic protein deficiency can lead to persistent foot swelling. Looking at your age, I would think that if there are no external s/s of inflammation, then knee pain would be due to degenerative changes setting in the joint. Please catch hold of a good physical therapist and do intensive knee - quadriceps and hamstring ex, avoid sitting cross legged and squatting, use a western toilet etc - take adequate calcium and vitamin d as per your body's requirement - daily walks for 2-3 km per day in morning should help you. You can take a short course of a safe anti-inflammatory medication - hot fomentation at home 3-4 times in a day might also help in your knee pain but mainstay remains exercises please send me both knee ( ap & lateral) x rays so that I can see and advise you accordingly. Forjoint pain the best treatment course would be to undergo vasti at a panchakarma centre near u. After undergoing vasti, you shall be completely treated. If need the doc might prescribe you some ayurvedic medicines depending on your body type. Till then you can have drumstick soup daily. Also boil 2 pieces of garlic in 1 cup milk & 1 cup water. When 1 cup remains, strain & drink daily after adding 1 tsf cow ghee.

1. Take good nourishing diet with plenty of green leafy vegetables and, fruits 2. Drink plenty of water with electral/ors powder 3. Take multi vitamin supplement like one capsule of polybion daily 3. Massaging cramped muscle, take pain killer like one tablet of crocin advance sos after food up to a maximum of three tablets per day 4. Hot fomentation by heating pad, warm water bath 5. Take high calorie and high protein diet do excercise or walk regularly. Don't skip brkfst. With brkfst take 1 glass of milk n add 2 badam n 2 anjeer. Take 4-5 meals in a day on frequent interval.

Excessive weight gain occurs only when calories intake is more than calories lost....So,,Dear to decrease your fat you have to do work out daily. Try the remedies below they can help u. 1. Mix three teaspoons of lemon juice, one teaspoon of honey in one glass of water. 2. Drink it in the morning on an empty stomach. 3. Drink 3 litres of water daily.stop sugar intake. 4.Drink mint tea or make a paste of green mint with some simple spices and eat during meals. 5. Hi, you need to include calorie dense foods in your diet like whole milk and milk products, cereals and pulses, smoothies, nuts, egg, banana, tubers like potatoes and sweet potatoes and you need to do some work out like cardio, swimming cycling, running, jogging for 30-45 minutes and after that protein and carbs rich food you should consume. If you want workout daily so pre workout meal and postwork out meal will be better for you. If you need a diet plan for weight gain then consult me privately.
