How can I quit drinking I drink about 4 times a month earlier I used to drink much but it's not liked by my wife and family so I want to quit it. I try many times I quit for 1 month or so but again starts it I had just 5 beers in last 2 months every time I drink I think I will quit But I'm unable to quit Whenever m sad I feel like drinking or if I don't drink I want to eat fast food and oily food due to which I am overweight around 110 kg How can I control my such emotions and quit drinking?

Alcohol dependence involves intense craving or desire to drink alcohol. People drink for pleasure or rationalize it on external factors like family problems, work tension, etc. They drink continuously, i.e. Almost daily or even weekly once or twice with withdrawal symptoms, tolerance, bodily damage, etc. Due to alcohol they and/ or others are affected significantly. You need to consult a psychiatrist and go for 3 steps of de addiction. 1st is detoxification, when alcohol is stopped and the withdrawal is made smooth with minimal discomfort, 2 nd is maintenance and further deaddiction when the physical problems and psychological state of the individual is maintained and anti-craving drugs started 3 rd rehabilitation, when relapse prevention is the goal, while maintaining deaddiction. To keep fit you have to eat as per your body's needs. Do not fast for long hours. This will help avoid binging in the next meal. In hot climate digestion is poor so smaller meals are better tolerated. Drink lots of fluids like lime juice amla juice kokam sarbat coconut water buttermilk sharbats. Avoid excessive tea coffee and aerated drinks. Avoid alcohol and smoking. Exercise at least thrice a week. Have local and seasonal foods. Sleep well and drink plenty of water.

Dear Ms. lybrate-user I understand your concern. Please note that diet plays 80 % role in a weight loss regime and rest is exercise. If you make necessary dietary changes and combine it with 1 hour play/ exercise you can shed weight healthily. You need to correct your daughter's diet wherever it’s going wrong. Focus on higher protein intake, lower fat and restrict carbohydrates to complex ones only. Avoid simple sugars completely. Vitamin B 12 is a part of our diet and is absorbed in the gut with the help of Intrinsic Factor secreted by the stomach. Inability of body to secrete enough Intrinsic Factor causes poor absorption of B 12. This causes anaemia and neuritis. Vit D although a part of diet from non vegetarian food or fats artificially fortified with Vitamin D, it is naturally synthesized in the body in presence of sunlight. Poor exposure to Sun causes deficiency of this vitamin. The type of life we people are living nowadays, mostly keeping indoors, has contributed to this. Enjoy sunlight in the morning before noon hours when ultraviolet rays strike the body at a particular angle and save yourself from Vitamin D deficiency. Vitamin B12 deficiency is mostly is due to Intrinsic factor problem hence dietary absorption is not possible. Such patients need to be given Methocobalamin a B12 isomer to replenish the deficiency. You need to take these vitamins therapeutically till the levels reach normal and then prophylactic doses should be continued for maintaining these levels.

Food is one of the greatest nourishments that is routinely required by our body. This is an element that can also make or break our immunity and promote good health. Therefore, it is imperative to eat healthy food so that one can not only take care of one’s body but also prevent the onset of various kinds of diseases. Regular consumption of such cruciferous foods like these leafy greens can actually put a stop to this process of free radicals and their production, which can also prevent cancer in the long run.

Hello, Gaining weight is a slow process which requires patience and dedication! It not only depends upon the amount of food you consume daily, but also about eating Sensibly, depends upon your genes, your body's proper metabolism, assimilation and absorption, the levels of stress/ tension in your life, and any underlying medical condition you have! The food what and how you eat, makes the difference! For increasing your weight, concentrate on the below points (if you don’t have any medical condition) which helps in gaining weight in a right way without harming your body. - Consume more healthy fats. Foods containing healthy fats are full of nutrients and also high in calories, making them a great option for weight gain. Foods containing plant fats should be your first option - this includes items such as nuts, seeds, peanut butter, avocados and olive oil. Foods containing healthy animals fats include lean meats and full fat dairy products - although if you have high cholesterol, you should probably stick to low-fat options. -Eat more protein. Good sources of protein include lean meat, fish and poultry, in addition to eggs, whole grains, dairy products and legumes. -Drink more calories. Try drinking a large glass of orange juice in the mornings (along with your normal breakfast). Drink a glass or two of full-cream milk throughout the day. -Have 6 small and frequent meals in a day. -Gain muscle mass. It's a good idea to continue to exercise while you attempt to gain weight the healthy way. Strength training includes working with weights and performing exercises such as squats, deadlifts, bench presses, bicep curls, crunches, chin-ups and leg curls. Just keep in mind that the more you exercise, the more calories you will need to consume to replace those you lost while working out. -Quit smoking. As it suppresses the appetite. -Stay healthy. The most important thing through the entire weight gain process is to stay healthy - eating a balanced diet and continuing to exercise throughout. -Take enough of rest and sleep for rejuvenation of the cells and tissues. -Think Positive which will help you in achieving your target of gaining weight. -Avoid taking unnecessary stress/ tension. Medication: Take Schwabe’s Alfaalfa Tonic and Five Phos. Both thrice daily ½ an hour before meals for 3 months. Revert.

Go for brisk walk 45 minute daily. Take 3 cup green tea daily (jasmine flavour). Have diet rich in fruits vegetable salads & multigrain aata roti avoid rice, deserts, and fried stuffed. Drink 2-3 liters water in a day.

Hello you need to understand the concept of weight loss. It's a gradual process that requires cut down in calories under the guidance of a dietitian and regular exercise. Don't skip breakfast. Sleep for 7-9 hours per night. Avoid fried foods, sweets, carbonated drinks and processed foods. Include whole grains, sprouts, seasonal fruits and vegetables, salad vegetables like cucumber, kakri, onion, tomato etc. Include green tea 4-5 times a day. Drink plenty of water. Take 3 main meals and 2 side meals. Take flaxseed powder 1 tsp with lukewarm water on empty stomach. You can have baked samosa and dark chocolate 1 square just for controlling cravings. Thank you.

It is possible. Either the cyst might have been missed in the last scan, may be small or it might have formed afterwards. Anyway if it gives pain it needs to be removed. If no symptoms can leave it.

Gaining weight during pregnancy is normal. But to control weight post pregnancy is right in your hands. Start walking for 1 hour everyday.Drink lots of water. Increase the intake of fiber through salads,fruits and vegetables.And slow and steady can only help you loose weight .Loosing weight all of a sudden is not advisable. Sir, myself I am a footballer that's why I do physical work to develop my game as I run 10-12 rounds even more daily of a field of 500 metres, a lot of stretching, 5 times sprint of 100m n a lot of many other exercises in the morning. Including push-ups, sit-ups n so on. N in evening I play game of 1 to 2 hours but my stamina is not improving at this speed according to my hard work, I also taking good diet according to me. Hello, you need a balanced pattern of meals in which complex carbohydrates,vitamins and minerals and high quality proteins are taken. Check your hemoglobin levels,if they are low you need to have concentrated proteins and iron rich food.
