I just recently discovered cunnilingus, pls tell is it safe sex, what precautions do we take before doing it.

MD - Obstetrtics & Gynaecology
Gynaecologist, Mumbai
Cunnilingus is safe kind of sex as compared to vaginal or anal sex. Chlamydia, human papillomavirus (hpv), gonorrhea, herpes, hepatitis (multiple strains), and other sexually transmitted infections (stis/stds), can be transmitted through oral sex if the partner is infected with any one of these. But carrying these kind of diseases in a known partner is extremely rare. Risk of sti infection, however, is generally considered significantly lower for oral sex than for vaginal or anal sex, with hiv transmission considered the lowest risk with regard to oral sex.

This is effect of over mastribution and nitefall and avoid watching porn movies it cause many problems. There are no harmful side effects of masturbation. Medical science has debunked many myths formally associated with masturbation, such as hair growing on the palms, insanity, or that masturbation will drain excessive energy from the body. Some people report feeling guilty about masturbating. Negative feelings associated with any behavior can threaten a person's health and well being. 1. The nervous system is affected the most. 2. Besides the heart, the digestive system, the urinary system as well as the other systems are adversely affected and consequently the whole body becomes the museum of diseases with profound weakness. 3. The eyes become sunken, the cheek bones protrude and there is a black rim round the eyes. 4. Continuous headache and backache. 5. Dizziness and loss of memory. 6. Palpitation of heart on lightest exertion. 7. Nervousness. 8. Unable to perform any heavy physical or mental work. 9. The person dislikes any company and activities and rather likes to sit in seclusion and suffers from weakness. 10. All the senses are impaired. 11. Vision becomes dim, the tongue begins to stammer and ears tend to become deaf etc. 12. Lastly t. B. Or insanity or some other serious disease catch hold of the victim to lead his life to a close. 13. Impotency. How much is too much masturbation (and sex for that matter)? that depends but it's suggested men keep their ejaculation frequency down to 2-3 times a week. However, sexual activity can be experienced more often if men learn how to orgasm without ejaculation. Doing so can actually store bioenergy into your system and make your penis firmer, your erections last longer, and your ejaculate volume bigger. For treatment and any querries ask privetly.

I have a constant pain in urinne bladder zone and across belt line of left side, some time the sensation passes to left leg also. I have visited urologst, underwent kft, lft, urine routine and culture but there is no findings, then doctor suggested that problem in there in orine flow, I underwent treatment of that also still the pain is not going. What should I do, I am doing kegel excersies also.

Dear , as your kidney functions are normal, I think one has to consider possibilities. I suppose kidney function test would include usg also. If not then get usg done of abdomen and pelvis with full bladder volume, bladder wall thickness on full bladder and post-void residual urine volume. If it shows residual urine or bladder wall thickness increased then uroflowmetry. This would confirm or rule out obstruction. Please post these reports to me here and then we can proceed. However if all these test turn normal then it could be girdle pain due to problem in spine with compression neuropathy. Third possibility could be long sitting hours at work and faulty posture-if so nucoxia Mr. After meals would help. Let me see the reports.

I am a 2nd stage diabetic patient having average 125 blood sugar, bp 90/140, cholesterol levels 200.

DM Cardiology
Cardiologist, Delhi
Dear, you need to reduce the cholesterol levels. High cholesterol (hypercholesterolemia) what is hypercholesterolemia? hypercholesterolemia is a condition in which the level of cholesterol in your blood is high. When you have too much cholesterol, deposits of fat in the blood called plaque form inside blood vessel walls. The blood vessel walls thicken and become narrower (a condition called atherosclerosis). This change in the blood vessels reduces blood flow through the blood vessels, increasing your risk of heart disease and possibly leading to heart attacks or strokes. Cholesterol is a naturally occurring fatty substance. Your body needs small amounts of cholesterol to make and maintain nerve cells and to produce hormones. Most of the cholesterol in your blood is made by your liver from the fats, carbohydrates, and proteins you eat. You also get cholesterol by eating animal products such as meat, eggs, and dairy products. The two most important components of cholesterol are ldl (low-density lipoprotein) and hdl (high-density lipoprotein). Ldl and hdl carry cholesterol through your blood. Ldls carry a lot of cholesterol, leave behind fatty deposits on your artery walls, and contribute to heart disease. Hdls do the opposite. They clean the artery walls and remove extra cholesterol from the body, thus lowering the risk of heart disease. Ldl is called" bad" cholesterol. (you can think of" l" for" lousy" cholesterol.) hdl is called" good" cholesterol (think of" h" for" healthy" cholesterol). It is good to have low levels of ldl and high levels of hdl. How does high cholesterol occur? the main cause of high cholesterol is eating foods that are high in saturated fat or cholesterol. Other possible causes are? an inherited problem with the way your body processes cholesterol? a disease that raises the cholesterol level (for example, diabetes mellitus, kidney disease, liver disease, or hypothyroidism). What are the symptoms? high cholesterol is a silent disease. There are no symptoms until problems have already developed, such as the chest pain of a heart attack or calf pain with walking, caused by narrowed or blocked arteries to the legs. How is it diagnosed? you will have blood tests to check your cholesterol level. These lab tests usually measure your total cholesterol level as well as the levels of low-density lipoprotein (ldl), high-density lipoprotein (hdl), and triglycerides. You may need to fast before your blood test. This means you do not eat or drink anything except water for 12 hours before the test. Your health care provider may give you a physical exam. He or she may ask about your diet and diseases and health problems in your family. How is it treated? the goal of most cholesterol treatment is to decrease the ldl in your blood and to raise the hdl. For every 1% decrease in cholesterol level, your risk of heart disease is reduced 2%. A diet high in fiber and low in total fat, saturated fat, and cholesterol can help to lower cholesterol levels. For more information on changes you can make in your diet, see health maintenance: controlling cholesterol. You will need to lose weight if you are overweight. You should also exercise as recommended by your health care provider. If diet and exercise are not enough to reduce your cholesterol level, your health care provider may prescribe drugs. Among the drugs commonly used are cholestyramine, niacin, gemfibrozil, atorvastatin, fluvastatin, lovastatin, pravastatin, and simvastatin. Each medicine has slightly different effects. Sometimes you will need to take more than one medicine to decrease your total cholesterol. Your health care provider will choose the best medicines for you. How can I take care of myself and prevent high cholesterol? in addition to changing your diet, you can help lower your cholesterol by the following? get more exercise, especially aerobic exercise. Ask your health care provider about an exercise prescription. Start slowly to avoid injury. Exercise helps raise hdl levels, improve circulation, decrease body fat, and tone muscles? don't smoke? maintain a normal weight? have your cholesterol levels and weight checked by your health care provider.

Addison's disease - How to Support a Loved One Suffering from it?

Practical Course in Diabetology, POST GRADUATE COURSE IN DIABETOLOGY, MBBS
Endocrinologist, Srinagar
Addison's disease - How to Support a Loved One Suffering from it?

The adrenal glands, which sit above the kidneys, are very important to your body as they secrete many important hormones. These hormones are required to regulate many functions within the body. The two most important hormones that these glands produce are ‘cortisol’ and ‘aldosterone’. When your body suffers from the condition of Addison’s disease, the glands end up producing very little amounts of these hormones. This will result in many functions in the body being adversely affected.

How do you know your loved one is suffering from Addison’s disease?

Addison’s disease develops overtime and doesn’t happen immediately. However, you would be able to notice some of the following symptoms:

  1. Drop in blood pressure which may result in fainting as well

  2. Development of darker skin due to hyperpigmentation

  3. Development of hypoglycemia or low blood sugar

  4. Unexpected weight loss and a decreased appetite in general

  5. Craving for salt

  6. Extreme fatigue

  7. Irritability and depression

  8. Vomiting, nausea and diarrhea

  9. Muscle and joint pains

  10. Abdominal pains

Of these, if you start seeing a combination of frequent hyperpigmentation, muscle and joint pains, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, extreme fatigue and unexplained weight loss, you should take your loved one to the doctor immediately as these are telltale signs of Addison’s disease.

Diagnosis

There are no ways to self-diagnose this disease as it requires proper medical tests. Some of the medical tests that may be advised for this are:

  1. Blood tests: These are done to measure the levels of sodium, potassium and cortisol in your blood.

  2. ACTH tests: This is a test to determine the exact levels of ‘cortisol’ in your blood and whether it is being produced normally or not.

  3. Hypoglycemia test: This is a test to measure whether adrenal glands are producing enough hormones to regulate insulin. If blood sugar is low, it will indicate problems with the adrenal glands.

  4. Imaging tests: Other tests, such as CT scans may also be prescribed to detect problems within your adrenal glands.

Steps to manage Addison’s disease

  1. Pay regular visits to your doctor: This is very important along with regular tests and checkups as other dependent functions may be damaged and suddenly become life threatening. It may fall on you to take your loved one to a doctor regularly for this reason.

  2. Carry bracelets which have your medical information: If your loved one has a tendency to faint due to the problems caused by Addison’s disease, it is important that you ensure they always carry bracelets with medical information with them. This way, strangers will be able to recognize the problem and get help quickly in emergency situations.

Always keep extra medications: This is a very important point as missing a couple of daily doses and medication can result in sudden deterioration of your loved one's’ condition. Have all other forms of administering medications handy as well such as syringes among others.
