If a person have diabetes how much sugar can he eat per day. 2.How much salt can a bp patient eat per day.
A person should eat only that much amount of sugar which is as per his caloric recommendation which takes into account the energy requirement of a person. Which basically mean that a person involved in physical labour is recommended to eat more carbohydrates (read sugar) as compared to a person involved in desktop job As per WHO recommendation - daily salt intake should be 5gms salt or less.

Dear lybrate-user, there are medicine to control diabetes which causes increase in belly. Which medicines are you taking? second thing is you can not eat honey when you have diabetes. The belly will not be reduced but the blood sugar will increase. In diabetes you should do exercise to reduce the weight or belly or even blood sugar level. Dear, don't do such harmful experiments with such a beautiful creation of god. You can decrease belly with some homeopthic medicines.

I am Having Hyper Thyroid Problem. Due to same I am facing lots of health Problems. My Dr. Suggested me to burn the thyroid glands. I need suggestion for the same.

Advance BHRT Certification, Fellowship in BHRT & Longevity Medicine, Fellowship in Endocrinology, MBBS
Endocrinologist, Bangalore
I recommend Radioactive ablation to patients of Hyperthyroidism if the condition is not coming under control medically or there are significant associated health problems or side effects to the anti-thyroid drugs. Determining whether it is Graves disease (autoimmune) or not is an important consideration. Radioactive ablation ("burning") of thyroid gland is a good option when applied in the right clinical setting.

Mr. lybrate-user, Thanks for the query. It is good to know that blood glucose is well controlled and does not go up even after eating "2 doodh pedha" It wolud be better if you check HbA1c% and see if it is <5.9% then one can say you have no diabetes now. Whether you should stop medication is a difficult question to answer. My suggestion is maintain your healthy lifestyle, including diet and regular exercise, then stop the medication for about 2 weeks and check the blood glucose levels. If levels remain within normal limit then probably one might conclude there is no diabetes. Do try and come back after wards. Thanks.

Hypothyroidism causes weight gain, slow heart rate, swelling of face and lower limbs, intolerance to cold, dry hair, dry skin, hair fall, fatigue, tired feeling, irregular menstrual periods, excess flow, anxiety and depression and if uncontrolled then may cause mixedema. Since it is a deficiency disorder, hormone supplement is needed for lifetime.

Mr Ramachnadran, When one has diabetes it is always good to avoid taking direct sugar containing foods. The reason is there is a rapid increase in blood glucose after taking those foods. Even if you have blood glucose in "control", it is not good to indulge in such foods. Since there is no mention about what are the fasting & Pp glucose levels, it is difficult to comment. Because in control means fasting should be closer to 100 mg, PP 150 to 160 mg and HbA1c%<7. Thanks
