I am a 21 years old girl and I have severe case off acne on face. It has been 6-7 years and I have tried every medicine. What should I do?

Do let me know if you also have blackheads with pimples? and what current medications and remedies you already tried to treat acne? acne is a common problem in teen. Almost everybody will get pimples during their teen years. First, don't try to self treat acne. Some popular nonprescription acne lotions, cleansers and other skin products can cause a serious reaction (rare), mostly it is normal to have acne in teenage. For pimples it's important to wash your face twice daily to remove impurities, dead skin cells, and extra oil from your skin's surface, avoid touching your face or propping your cheek or chin on your hands. Not only can you spread bacteria, you can also irritate the already inflamed facial skin. Never pick or pop pimples with your fingers, as it can lead to infection and scarring. A dietary therapy with the right medications for pimples can also help a lot. Kojic acid (a natural skin lightener derived from mushroom extract), arbutin (also called bearberry extract), and vitamin c (ascorbic acid) are great alternative ingredients to lighten scars left by acne. Don't use vitamin e or any self prescribed preparations on scars or pimples. Increasing the intake of omega-3 fatty acids through a diet significantly rich in fish and seafood results in lower rates of an inflammatory disease like acne. A low-glycemic-index diet also reduces acne risk. I being a both a registered dietitian (rd) and doctor have been successfully helping patients with their problems through a holistic approach using customized therapeutic diet and medications. I will also suggest home remedies. Do reply back for private consultation for rx.

I have a problem for hair falling, I can not control this problem, so please help me.

BHMS
Homeopath, Faridabad
Hi. It's normal to loose up to 100 hair per day, and in most people, those hairs grow back. But many men -- and some women -- lose hair as they grow older. You can also lose your hair if you have certain diseases, such as thyroid problems, diabetes, or lupus. If you take certain medicines or have chemotherapy for cancer, you may also lose your hair. Other causes are stress, a low protein diet, a family history, use of bore water, or nutritional deficiencies. Need to rule out any causative factor or underlying medical condition. Management: Take diet rich in protein like non-veg., eggs (it's loaded with essential nutrients such as proteins, Vitamin B12, iron, zinc and Omega 6 fatty acids in large amounts and biotin) , different pulses & legumes, sprouts, nuts (sp. walnuts and almonds); iron-rich food like green vegetables, dates, carrots, prunes, green peas; also oats, shrimp, take flaxseeds, sunflower seeds, sesame seeds, green tea, soyabean, fruits, salads, etc. Take low-fat dairy products (they also contain whey and casein, two high-quality protein sources) Take proper 6-9hrs of sound sleep. Give up the habit of smoking and excessive alcohol intake. Avoid junk food and any kind of beverages (tea, coffee, aerated drinks, cold drinks, etc.) Avoid canned/ tinned food or food that contains preservatives (eat fresh ones). Avoid use of hard water to wash the head rather use boiled water for head wash. Avoid use of harsh hair colour, hair treatment like rebonding, straightening, perming, etc. Avoid vigorous exercises or any supplements provided by the gym! Cover your head with scarf or cap while stepping outside. Use Rose wood/ any wooden hair comb to brush your hair. Regular exercising is also one of the important point, but should be done under some good, qualified yoga teacher or instructor for proper guidance; it also releases the stress/ tension in the mind and the body and keeps you FIT and YOUNG!! Medication: Take homoeopathic Rx - Schwabe's Wiesbaden 200 & Alfalfa Tonic twice a day for 1 month and revert. Also, use Schwabe's Arnica shampoo and Hair Growth oil regularly as per the condition of your scalp (minimum 3 times a week). After shampooing, use Bakson's Arnica Hair conditioner as well after every head wash. Apart from this, take Follihair tablets (multivitamin) - 1 tab. daily once for 1 month. Investigations advised: Get your blood tested for (empty stomach) - CBC, S. Iron, S. Folic acid, S. Ferritin, S. Calcium, S. Vitamin D3, S. Vitamin B12. If there is any family history of Thyroid dysfunction, get Thyroid function test done as well.

I have vaginal warts in inside vegina and on anus also. Some time bleeding is come during anus (washroom time. Is this serious?

Generally piles are not so serious and go away on their own after a few days. But they should not be ignored as they can lead to life-threatening conditions such as colorectal cancer. Piles can affect anyone at any age but they mostly affect elderly people, pregnant ladies, and those with spinal cord injuries. Symptoms include blood or mucus discharge after a bowel movement, pain during defecation, red and swollen anus and formation of a hard lump of coagulated blood called thrombosed external hemorrhoid. The good news is that piles at their initial stage can be cured at home. The piles home remedies given below are effective in the treatment of piles. Dried figs: wash 3 to 4 figs and soak them in a glass of water overnight. Eating this on an empty stomach early in the morning and then at night will definitely relieve the pain and swelling of inflamed hemorrhoids. And medicines are abhayarishta and chitrakadi vati. For treatment medicines consult privately any queries inform me.

I used panderm plus cream last 3 months for fairness so please tell me about panderm plus cream?

MBBS, DPD-Cardiff (U.K)
Cosmetic Physician, Noida
This cream contains steroids and it should not be used on face or any other part until prescribed by a dermatologist. It may cause initial fairness but later causes darkness, excess hair growth, skin thinning and many other side effects. Rather go for a proper skin lightening treatment by online or personal consultation with a dermatologist.

Sir i have gynecomastia. Is there any treatment for it other than surgery. I feel really embarassed because of it. And it affects my social life too. Please suggest.

No amount of massage, exercise or creams work. The treatment is surgical. Go ahead with surgery after a consultation with an endocrinologist to rule out treatable hormonal cause.

Hi, Eruptions on scalp may indicate one of the following disorder: 1) Seborrheic dermatitis:Sebborheic dermatitis often appears in red patches called dandruff on the scalp. Age, stress, fatigue, weather extremes, oily skin, infrequent shampooing can cause it.Use Selsun shampoo if this is the cause. 2) Tinea capitis or Ringworm of scalp:. It will appear as itchy, red, raised scaly rashes . The infected area is generally more red on the outer areas and lighter towards the center, which gives it a distinct “ring” formation. Individuals require antifungal treatment. 3) Allergy: Often, a rash on the scalp may be due to an allergic reaction from a cosmetic, soap or detergent. Ingredients in shampoo, conditioner, hair gel or other beauty products may irritate the skin causing a rash. Itching, swelling or small pimple-like bumps can accompany the rash, which can cause a secondary bacterial infection if a sufferer constantly scratches it. 4) Psoriasis – This is a chronic autoimmune disease that causes raised, reddish, scaly patches on the skin or scalp. This is also accompanied by similar patches on other parts of body. This disease needs proper treatment. Revert back for any other guidance.

Hairfall can be due to many reasons, like excessive pitta in the body or sinus problem or loss of asthi dhatu. So proper treatment is necessary according to symptoms. So please see some ayurveda physician near you personally. Till then you can try these home remedies. 1) start taking 1 amla everyday. 2) Apply paste of trifla, bhringraj & methi seeds on head before washing & wash after 1 hr. 3) Increase the qty of milk & ghee in your diet. 4) Have a good sleep. 5) Go for shirodhara, a panchakarma treatment for reduced stress & better hair growth 6) Reduce the amount of salt & spices in your daily diet 7) wash hair with trifla & neem kadha 8) Make a Hair pack mixing fine powders of triphalā 50 gm, nāgaramothā 10 gm, methī seeds 40 gm and mehendī or hīnā (Lowsonia inermis) powder 150 gm in water and apply from the root to the tips of the hair. What home remedies should I adopt to remove my acne? And what is the reason behind such acne?

BHMS
Homeopath, Mumbai
Apply aloevera gel. Aloe vera reduces the inflammation and infection of the areas affected by acne. It helps in reducing redness, flaky skin and inflammation if applied daily. Also take aloe-vera juice internally. 30ml twice a day. Drink 2-3 liters of water daily. Check if certain foods are worsening the eruptions. Avoid direct sun exposure if your skin is sun sensitive. Check vitamin d levels. If deficient start on vitamin d supplementation.
