Hi apply pranacharya restopain oil or prasarini oil on your affected part then give hot fomentation. Take maha rasnadi kwath 2-2 tsf twice a day. And agni tundi vati and maha yograj guggul 1-1 tab twice a day.

Apply volini gel on neck and back. do warm fomentation. do neck muscle and back muscle exercises, avoid high pillow. consult if not ok.

Extension exercises x 15 times x twice daily. Bhujang asana. Core strengthening exercises. Back stretchingstretch do the cat/cow avoid bending in front. Postural correction- sit tall, walk tall. Apply hot fomentation.

Hi thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from fortis hospital, new delhi. You have mentioned persistent back pain and hand pain. If you have localized back pain with no other symptoms like radiating leg pain, neurological symptoms like numbness, weakness, paresthesias etc, then you can start with following recommendations for initial period of 2-3 weeks: - to maintain proper posture of your back while working and sleeping - if pain is more then you can take a short course of an anti-inflammatory medication like tab etoshine or paracetamol or one which suits you - physical therapy initially under supervision of a trained physiotherapist and then to continue at home - adequate calcium & vitamin d intake if levels are low in body - ice packs can applied if your pain is acute, then hot fomentation can be done at home - analgesic spray for local application can be used and is easily available. - avoid lifting heavyweight/ acute forward bending in mornings etc we will observe you for next 2-3 weeks how you respond to this conservative management protocol. If you are not feeling better, then we will have to get some investigations like, dynamic x rays of lower back and few blood tests for evaluation. You will have to mention which part of your hand are you having pain, also is there any neck pain with radiating pain in hands? do you feel paresthesias (burning sensations) in your hands or weakness in hands also? do not hesitate to contact me if you need any further assistance. Hi. Looks like a mechanical problem with the movement of your shoulder and your upper body. Strengthen your upper torso muscles by a physiotherapist. Go slow and steady or see a pain physician for diagnosis and immediate relief.

I am 65 years 57 kg male. I am otherwise normal - non diabetic, bp normal. I am sensitive to blow of cold air for the last 6 months which gives me backache &/or spondylitis. Now I have noticed the soles of my feet have started becoming little spongy. Kindly guide me.

As you have mentioned that you are not a diabetic, your clinical condition is most likely arising out of degenerative changes in lower back region. To advise you on how we have to manage your clinical condition, ideally we need, 1) clinical examination (motor, sensory and evaluation of dtr) of both lower limbs 2) mri ls spine to correlate examination findings with radiology once I have them in front of me, I can tell you what will be the ideal management in your case. My wife has a knee pain only at night since two months.

Kindly show me digital x rays of knee. Rule out diabetes & vit. D deficiency or any other metabolic disorder. Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Spring beds, folding beds or thick matress are harmful use no pillow under the head. Do hot fomantation. Ibuprofen 200mg od & sos x 5days bio d3 max 1tab od x10 do neck, back & general exercises. It may have to be further investigated. You will need other supportive medicines also. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take. Do reply back for detailed treatment plan. Do not ignore. It could be beginning of a serious problem.

MRI report for my(21 years old)spinal is here "subtle hyperintense signals on either side of sacroiliac joints on T2 weighted images which is hypointense on T1 weighted images. (R>L).What does it mean . I have 10 mnth baby.My delivery was normal.After delivery ,I cant stand for long time .Severe pain in lower back.Why it is?pls reply.

1) do massage with warm sesame oil or suitable oil for 15 min. Afterwards take hot fomentation for 10 min. 2) start natural calcium supplement. 3) do regular stretching exercise 4) in yoga do bhujangasan, halasan & suryanamaskar. Life-style correction 1) correct your sitting posture. 2) take small pillow or back rest for lower back. 3) foot should rest to floor easily. 4) take small break after 1 hr & walk few steps. 5) do neck & upper back extension, give feedback after 4 days.

Kindly show me photograph of the affected part. Rule out diabetes & vit. D deficiency or any other metabolic disorder. Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Use no pillow under the head. Kindly take biod3 max 1 tab dailyx10 paracetamol 250mg od & sos x5days do back (spine)/shoulder/knee exercises make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take do not ignore it. It could be beginning of a serious problem. If no relief in 4_5 days, then contact me again.

I am 71 yrs 5ft 8 in weight 90 kg am suffering from diabetic for last 5 yrs lately I find that sole of both my feet become numb when I get up in the morning and also my right heel is very painful please advice what I should do ?

Hi thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from fortis hospital, new delhi. Your symptoms of numbness could be due to long standing diabetes in your case although other causes cannot be ruled out especially issues in lower back region. I would advise you for a very strict sugar control, you can take medications like pregabalin or gabapentin in low doses initially, take vitamin b12 and adequate calcium and vitamin d supplementation. Also heel pain could be due to inflammation in your heel fascia. Treatment modalities are aimed at relieving inflammation of the fascia, like ice packs, physical therapy, footwear modification and anti-inflammatory therapy. I will observe you with this management for around 2 weeks and then we will see if we require any investigations in your case. Do not hesitate to contact me if you need any further assistance.

My brother is suffering from pain in spine and back head. The pain is very loud and intensity of pain is very high. When he eats something, after certain interval he vomiting all things. Bhujang Asana – Lie flat on your stomach, keeping the palms out, bend the neck backward, take a deep breath and while holding it for 6 seconds, raise the chest up. Release breath and relax your body. Repeat the exercise 15 times twice daily.
