What are the symptoms of diabetes and how we take insulin IBM sugriv level is 600.

What are the symptoms of diabetes and how we take insulin IBM sugriv level is 600.
Lybrate-user, diabetes invariably does not produce any symptoms, hence many persons do not come to know that they have diabetes. When fully developed usually observed symptoms include excess thirst, excess hunger, excess urination, unexplained tiredness and weight loss. The second part of the question is not clear. Is it saying sugar levels is 600 mg, so how much insulin one has to take? before deciding on that one has to look at whether the patient has any insulin secretion at all. A c- peptide assay has to be done. 600 mg sugar is very high and it may lead to diabetic ketoacidosis if the patient has t1 dm or may lead to hyper osmolar hypertonic state (in elderly patients). Dose of insulin has to be slowly increased by observing glucose reduction over a period. So difficult to give exact dose. But if some one has such a high level, hospitalisation may needed.

If you maintain a very good and healthy lifestyle then there would be no problem. Please commit yourself to a disciplined and healthy lifestyle so that you depend less on medications. You can learn Yoga (include pranayam and meditation) and spend a few minutes every day in practicing it. The intension is to maintain an ideal weight by proper diet and exercise management. This would help you to minimise the need of medicines. Read more from the internet and adapt the healthy habits.

Mr. lybrate-user, Thanks for the query. For hypothyroidism there is only one medication and that is adequate dose of Levothyroxine to be taken daily early morning on empty stomach. If TSH is maintained between 3 to 4 mU/L then most of the symptoms of hypothyroidism are in check. As regards migrane it is a difficult condition to treat. Multiple remedies have to be tried, plus precaution should be taken to avoid known triggers. Thanks.

lybrate-user ji, thanks for the query. Hypothyroidism is a thyroxine hormone deficiency disorder. Hence, there's a need for constant supplement of this hormone, invariably for lifetime. Plus you are only 26 years, therefore, it is more critical. Low thyroxine post marriage leads to infertility. Thanks.

What is hypothyroidism? Why periods are irregular in thyroid? I am taking thyroid medicines since one month.

General Physician,
What is hypothyroidism? Why periods are irregular in thyroid? I am taking thyroid medicines since one month.
Hello lybrate-user thyroid hormone main work as maintain metabolism and also many functions in body (all functions can't be wright here) Thyroid gland secret T3 & T4 &some amount of r T3 Now let's talk to your questions The connection between thyroid hormone levels and the menstrual cycle is mainly mediated by thyrotropin-releasing hormone (TRH), which has a direct effect on the ovary. Additionally, abnormal thyroid function can alter levels of sex hormone-binding globulin, prolactin, and gonadotropin-releasing hormone, contributing to menstrual dysfunction. Increased levels of TRH may raise prolactin levels, contributing to the menstrual abnormality associated with hypothyroidism so if you have problems with thyroid hormone like hypothyroidism. U have to regularly take medication. As suggested by your consultant. And regular follow up your consultant with your thyroid reports.

I am suffering from high uric acid, my age is 55 years and I am a female any advise on what foods are good or a diet? thanks.

MBBS, MD - Internal Medicine
Internal Medicine Specialist, Faridabad
A high uric acid level can be caused when your body either produces too much uric acid or your kidneys don't eliminate uric acid rapidly enough. A high uric acid level may cause increasingly frequent attacks of gout, or it may never cause problems. A high uric acid level may also cause some people to develop kidney stones or kidney failure. And some people with a high uric acid level also develop high blood pressure, heart disease or chronic kidney disease, but it's often unclear whether this is a direct cause or merely an early warning sign of these conditions. Factors that may cause a high uric acid level in your blood include: Diuretic medications (water pills),Drinking too much alcohol,Genetics (inherited tendencies),hypothyroidism (underactive thyroid),Immune-suppressing drugs,Niacin, or vitamin B-3, obesity, psoriasis, Purine-rich diet — organ meat, game meat, anchovies, herring, gravy, dried beans, driedpeas, mushrooms and other foods Renal insufficiency — inability of the kidneys to filter waste Tumor lysis syndrome — a rapid release of cells into the blood caused by certain cancers or by chemotherapy for those cancers,Also, you may be monitored for high uric acid levels when undergoing chemotherapy or radiation treatment for cancer. Avoid protein diets, avoid more milk products. bad habits , fast food/fat/oily,salty foods. Coffee, smoking, alcohol intake. Non-veg., take whole grain, oats, green veg.,plenty of water in day time, 1 glass of water at night before bed. Take tab. Zyloric 100 mg once a day. Tab. Ulracet sos for pain in joints.
