Nebulisation is a method of delivering drug directly to the lungs in an emergency situation. If your doctor feels that it is a must then you must go for that as it has no long term effect.

Hello maam, I would suggest you to make your child eat food every hour or in 30 mins if she eats very small meals. It is very important to fulfill her nutritious needs for better growth. Make her eat at least 1300- 1500 kcal per day as per her growth requirement by completing the required amount of carbs (105-110 gms), proteins (12-14 gms), good fat (30-35 gms), calcium, vitamins A, B,B6, B12,C, D,E, K and minerals, iron, riboflavin etc so that it also helps her gain weight. Also make her do maximum of physical activity the whole day. If you want I can help you initially with a week long diet chart. Please help me with some food list she likes.

this is something like depersonalisation. Usually if it occurs just once in a while its okay. But if this feeling is pervasive and has been present for a long time along with some other symptoms, its better you consult a psychiatrist with all possible complaints and details. Understanding The Survival Rate Of Childhood Leukaemia!

MBBS, MD - Oncology, DNB - Super Speciality, Immuno Oncology
Oncologist, Delhi
Understanding The Survival Rate Of Childhood Leukaemia!

The diagnosis of leukemia in a child is followed by a discussion regarding the treatment and tenure required for complete recovery. The way in which the doctors go through the treatment after diagnosis of leukemia is based on various factors. Such factors that influence the outlook of the child are termed as prognosis.

These prognostic factors help in taking the decision regarding what sort of treatment should be offered to the child. Treatments may either be standard or intensive based on the prognostic factors. These factors, however, are vital in treating acute lymphocytic Leukemia than the other type called the acute myelogenous Leukemia. Above all these, survival rates are discussed and these rates play an important role. Parents of the child affected may at times insist that they get to know the survival rates.

The 5-year survival rates: The 5-year survival statistics are a common method used for discussing survival rates. This is the rate that denotes the percentage of children who live for a minimum of 5 years after the diagnosis of cancer. In the case of acute leukemia, it is rare for the cancer cells to come back after five years and so, you can come to a conclusion that the child has recovered.

Prognostic factors: The survival rates are based on a number of children who are diagnosed, but this is not conclusive. The type of Leukemia also plays a vital role. There are also various other prognostic factors that affect the child's outlook such as age, gender, weight, initial blood counts, and the way the child is responding to treatments. However, the survival rates are roughly the best estimates even after taking these factors into account.

Acute lymphocytic leukemia - 5-year survival rates
The survival rate for acute lymphocytic leukemia is greater than 85℅ and there is a vast improvement in this percentage over a period of time.

Acute Myelogenous Leukemia -5-year survival rates
The cumulative survival rate for Acute Myelogenous Leukemia is about 60℅ - 70℅. There was a substantial increase is this percentage over time. There are a few subtypes which have a different percentage of survival rates.

Juvenile Myelomonocytic Leukemia - 5-year survival rates
50℅ is the survival rate for this type of Leukemia.

Remission
The stage where there is no sign of Leukemia after 6 weeks of treatment even after the performance of lab tests which are very sensitive, it is called as remission. The remission stage does not necessarily mean that

Leukemia has been cured completely.
In conclusion, there is a significant increase in the percentage of survival rates when it comes to cancer. It has increased from 10℅ to 90℅ in the past few years. Factually speaking, there are approximately 375000 adult survivors in the United States who were diagnosed with cancer in their childhood. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult an Oncologist.

How To Treat Conjunctivitis With Homeopathy?

Conjunctivitis, also known as pinkeye, is a very common eye disease. Though it is not harmful, anyone suffering from this infection must consult a doctor and receive treatment so that it can be cured in 7 to ten days.

Conjunctivitis can be treated through a range of medical treatments. Usually, one goes to an optometrist but have you tried consulting a homeopathic for a change?

Advantages of Homeopathy

  1. Natural medicine: Homeopathy is a natural form of medicine and is considered to be an alternative form of medicine. It would not aggravate the problem, but it would find a quick solution to relieve you from it. Allopathic medicines contain certain chemicals and drugs which might not be suitable for many individuals.

  2. Can fight all the symptoms of conjunctivitis: This disease has some common symptoms. Some of them are redness, swelling of the eye, yellow discharges, water flow from the eyes, and others. These symptoms can be well managed by homeopathic medicines as well. These medicines work to heal the root cause of the disease and cure it.

  3. You recover quickly: Usually it takes around a week to t10 days for conjunctivitis to completely heal. For this period, it is advised that the affected person stays indoors to avoid contamination and spread of the disease. Adhering to homeopathy can actually reduce the time span of this disease, thereby completely healing you in no time and so that you can go about your daily routine.

  4. No side effects: Most medicines are made of drugs and chemicals and have various side effects. But with homeopathy being a naturally sourced medicinal option, the chances of having side effects are less. However, it is advisable to know beforehand if homeopathy suits you or not. If it does, then there are lesser chances of side effects.

The above factors have made it clear that conjunctivitis can be easily treated with homeopathic medicines. In case homeopathy suits you, then it might be a good idea for you to follow this course of medicine to treat this disease.

Whenever he gets fever, maintain temp chart 4 times in a day for 3-4 days. If temp rises >100' F, give paracetamol 150 mg 6-8 hourly if needed. Since he remains playful, there is no need of worry. After temp chart, you may come back. He is under wt. Give him good nourishing diet well cooked at home in ghee/ oil. Green vegetable and fruits have good micro nutrients to increase immunity. Vit A and zinc may be helpful to improve immunity.

My son is 3 years 5 months old. He hits himself and becomes aggressive and behaves violently he hits his head on the wall, he hits his throat stomach and so. So we consulted a pediatrician and through EEG we came to know that he is having abnormal epilepsy activity. He is taking EPTOIN, piracetam and VALPARIN syrup from july but it continues the same and it is becoming really worse. He started hitting his head and biting others at the age of 2.we thought as he is kid he will change when he grown up. But if we dint give anything he wants or if we talk to him politely not to hit his head on the wall or something else also he starts hitting himself. And the attack continues till half an hour. If we tries to stop him he become more aggressive. It is not clear whether baby gets injured while he is hitting himself. If it is not so, he may have tantrum. It is advisable to consult either pediatrician or psychiatrist. Since EEG showing abnormal changes, continue treatment as per advice of your doctor.
