Dear madam, treatment of lifestyle diseases like high bp, diabetes, high cholesterol etc needs long term commitment in terms of lifestyle modification along with drug therapy. You need to be patient with the outcome. Changing doctors does not help, since treatment is same. If bp is not contolled your doctor can increase the dose or add another. But that has to be done gradually but systematically. So just relax and follow your doctors advice.

Mr. Lybrate-user, if you have confirmed diabetes then it is essential to start appropriate treatment with suitable drugs. Plus take a balanced but restricted diet, that gives exact calories based on ideal body weight, blood sugar levels and extent of daily exercise. As regards eating following points should be kept in mind: avoid sweets completely, avoid deep fried foods, junk foods, pastries, sweetened aerated drinks, high fat milk products and highly processed food products. Exercise daily for at least 1 hour, that will increase your fitness and give better sugar control. When in good control fasting sugar should be around 100 mg and pp 150 to 160 mg and hba1c% <7. If you achieve this you will definitely feel healthy and fit. With regards.

Doctor, when I wake in the morning my mild is heavy and disturbed and heart rate increases. How to avoid this ?
1. It could be due to inadequate sleep, stress/anxiety, hypertension. 2. Get your bp checked 3. If it is a recurrent probem, you may have to take a ct scan of brain to exclude organic brain disease after consulting neurologist.

Hello lybrate-user, - there are many reasons for stomach ache and it's difficult to diagnose on one symptom that is" ache" always. - better to give clear symptoms, where the pain is locating and when it will appear etc - as you are medications for other issues better to go with home remedies - have a glass of butter milk daily once - have a glass of. Warm water after your dinner - have decoction of ajwain and ginger daily twice before food - avoid sour foods and fried food - take kamadhudha ras 2-0-2 for 10 days you will be better after this. Thank you.

Prevention From Heart Attack

Check your Serum vitamin B 12 level and vitamin D level   its very important to check it every year or twice a year   there are so many psycho somatic symptoms related to these vitamin deficiency  and we don't get these through our diet properly. And if you need further assistance then post me your reports, ill defiantly give you huge information about all these  mind it lower range of vitamins (just above normal value) is considered as deficiency means if your value of vit B comes at  200 m mo  (value ranges from 150- 1000 m mol )  then this 200 is considered as deficiency of vit B 12   Symptoms of these may ranges from, tingling and numbness of limbs, pain in limbs & muscles, general Lethargy ,cracks and soreness on tongue ,Gastritis ,constipation ,worsening of skin problems, then after few months you may develop severe Anxiety  (palpitation of heart and restlessness, lack of interest in any work) without any cause, sleep disturbances, and Depression ,and lastly you may develop paraesthesis   (numbness of limbs) and then paraplegia (blockage of limb movements,  so little ignorance may leads to cascade of symptoms, so kindly do check these duo vit specially for your Children's and Elderly, they are more and more prone to develop deficiency of  duo,(elderly means, now a days above 35) If they are less then you will need to take these supplements Tab. Cholecalciferol 60000 units once a week for 6 weeks then once a month for 4 months. Tab. Shelcal 500 mg once daily with food B complex vitamins once a day for 2 months Regular milk in diet Avoid all fatty and junk foods all types of ghee, butter and myoniese. Regular exercise at least 45 minutes & 5 times a week. Eat lots and lots of fruits and salads.

I was to operate for kidney stone yesterday but after giving anesthesia my blood pleasure dropped to 80 so they did not operate. What is the reason for the sudden drop of BP?

MBBS Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery, MS - General Surgery

Hypotension is a common side effects of spinal anaesthesia. As spinal anaesthesia is given. Blood will get pooled up in the lower limbs, inturn reduces the blood reaching the heart, so BP automatically drops down. To avoid that anaesthesiologist gives the IV fluids.

Dear lybrate-user, with bp medicines also fluctuation of bp is common. If your average bp is in normal range, then you should not worry too much. Carry on with your bp medicines and be consistent with diet and exercise regimen. Thats it.
