Hello, You need to get a serum beta hcg test done. If teh hcg levels are more than 3mIU then you are pregnant.

You perform repeat pregnancy test with early morning sample of urine at home. Now if the second line is dark, pregnancy is confirmed. If again that line is weak, you consult a doctor.

Dear . If you are sure of negative pregnancy test then probably its because of an anovulatory cycle (commonly due to a hormanal disbalance). She will get her period but if not or if this happens more often then please bring her for a checkup.

Almonds Vs Peanuts - Which One Is More Healthy?

Do you know that eating just 1.5 ounces of nuts a day can reduce your chance of getting heart disease? Almonds and peanuts can both protect your heart and do much more for you to live healthy for a long life.
But, which one is better for you- almonds or peanuts? Let’s explore, shall we?

Vitamins and minerals: Both almonds and peanuts are storehouses of healthy vitamins and minerals and they both contain equal quantities of micronutrients. One ounce serving of dry roasted almonds has 170 calories, 6 gm of protein and 3 gm of fibre. The same amount of peanuts contains 166 calories, about 7 gm of protein and 2 gm of fibre. But, it’s also known that peanuts have more B vitamins, but almonds are a better choice for vitamin E and minerals in general.

Healthy fats: Peanuts and almonds content equal amounts of fats -Almonds have 15 gm and peanuts contain 14 gm of total fat in a one-ounce serving. This fat is mostly the heart healthy unsaturated fats which lower your risk of cardiovascular disease by reducing cholesterol levels in your blood and fighting inflammation. Experts suggest that you should have 20 - 35 percent of your daily calories from fats, with as much as possible coming from unsaturated fat for a healthy heart.

Which nut is better?

  1. Almonds and peanuts contain the same vitamins like B and E, but in different amounts. You should eat more almonds if you need to boost your intake of antioxidant vitamin E as they have 45 percent of your recommended daily allowance in just a one-ounce serving.
  2. On the other hand, peanuts are better sources of the B vitamins like folate and niacin.
  3. Just one ounce serving of peanuts can give you 10 percent of your recommended daily allowance of folate and about 24 percent of the RDA of niacin. Almonds have less of these healthy vitamins.
  4. Magnesium content in both is there in good amount, but almonds contain marginally more magnesium.
  5. Almonds have two times more iron and five times more calcium than peanuts, though they both have the same amount of zinc.

So, the verdict is in favour of almonds, as they are better nutritionally than peanuts as they contain more iron, calcium, magnesium and healthy fats. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a Dietitian/Nutritionist.

The fact is, there is no sure way to prevent arthritis. But you can help to prevent, that is, reduce your risk, and delay the potential onset of certain types of arthritis. If you have healthy joints right now, do all you can now to maintain mobility and function and avoid the pain and disability associated with arthritis.

There are more than 100 types of arthritis and related conditions, and have all have risk factors, individual features, behaviors and circumstances that are associated with the disease.

There are risk factors that are not modifiable. That means there is nothing you can do about them. Being female and having a family history of arthritis (genetic profile) are two examples of factors that make people more likely – but not certain -- to get some types of arthritis.

In contrast, some risk factors are considered to be modifiable. They are the behaviors and circumstances that can be changed in order to reduce risk, delay onset or altogether prevent arthritis. Here are just a few examples arthritis and related diseases and associated modifiable risk factors:

Osteoarthritis – Maintain a healthy weight
Rheumatoid arthritis – Do not smoke
Gout – Eat a healthful diet, low in sugar, alcohol and purines
In some cases, preventing a prior incident can significantly reduce the risk of arthritis. Avoiding sports injuries through proper equipment, adequate training and safe play can prevent ACL (anterior cruciate ligament) tears that may lead to osteoarthritis in a few years or several decades later.

Right now, because scientists don’t fully understand the causes or mechanisms behind these diseases, true prevention seems to be impossible. However, there is real hope that someday some or all types of arthritis and related conditions can be prevented. The breakthroughs may be closer than they seem. Consider this: Many types of arthritis are thought to result from a combination of genetic predisposition and an environmental trigger, such as a virus or toxin. Discovery of the trigger for a type of arthritis may be the key to its prevention, even in someone with genetic risk.

Hello, If she has already missed her periods by 12 days now without any symptoms then it is best that you should rule out pregnancy first by doing a urine pregnancy test. If negative then she can wait for another week to allow natural resumption of menses else after that she can opt for a withdraal bleed with progestins to resume her menses. Regards

KEGEL EXERCISES – STRONGER ERECTIONS AND GREATER EJACULATION CONTROL

Kegel exercises are quite often recommended for women. However, are women the only ones who can benefit from these? Well, actually not. Even men can benefit from these exercises if they practice it regularly. Keep in mind that these exercises are supposed to improve bladder and bowel functioning and improve sexual functioning. So, why can’t men benefit from these?

BENEFITS OF KEGEL EXERCISES FOR MEN
Men are often concerned about their inability to achieve a strong erection and maintain it for a longer time. Another concern among men is premature ejaculation, that is, ejaculating before you or your partner wants. Both erections and ejaculation can have an impact on yours as well as your partner’s sexual pleasure.

This is why men would try anything to achieve a stronger erection and control their ejaculation. The key to both these issues are stronger and firmer pubococcygenus muscles. These are your pelvic floor muscles and if you have control over these, you will be able to control your erections and ejaculation.

These muscles control the flow of semen and urine and are responsible for the firmness of your erections and the power of your ejaculation. These are the muscles that are targeted by Kegel exercises. Regular practice of these exercises will not only help you control your orgasms and last for longer by delaying your ejaculation, but will also improve the sexual pleasure of your partner.
IDENTIFYING THE PELVIC FLOOR MUSCLES
You are probably wondering where your pelvic floor muscles are located. The easiest way to find these muscles is by stopping the flow of your urine the next time you go to urinate. These are the muscles that you will be squeezing when you stop the flow of urine in the middle.

Another way to identify the muscle is to squeeze the muscles that help prevent you from passing gas. Just stand in front of the mirror and squeeze these muscles. If you are squeezing the right muscles, you will see that the base of your penis moves closer to the abdomen and your testicles will rise along with it.

You could also place a finger inside your anus. When you contract the pelvic floor muscles, the anus will tighten.

Keep in mind that it is very important to identify the right muscles here. These are the only muscles that should be moving while you are doing the Kegel exercises. The muscles in your abdomen, buttocks, and thighs should be relaxed during these exercises.
KEGEL TECHNIQUES FOR MEN
The key to doing Kegel exercises is to contract and release them. How you do it is totally up to you. As a beginner, the easiest position to do this is while lying down. You can contract your muscles for three seconds and then release it for another. Repeat this 10 times and then relax. Do another set of 10 repetitions and then another set. All in all try to do three sets of 10 repetitions.

You could also quickly contract and release the muscles continuously for 10 seconds. Take a 10 second break before attempting another set. Here also do three sets. Or alternatively, contract and release for 5 seconds and then take a 5 second break before attempting another set. In this case, do 10 sets.

Another technique is to contract and hold the muscles for 30 seconds and then release. Take a break of 30 seconds and do three sets.

As you become better at these Kegel exercises, you could also aim at holding the contraction for around 2 minutes and then releasing it. You just need to do one set in this case. Once you get more comfortable, you can do these exercises while sitting, working on your computer, or even while standing.

As it gets easier and easier, you could try and do the contracting and releasing technique for more than 100 times a day. Or you can hold your muscles for around 20 minutes, 3 times a day.

You can then practice this technique during sexual intercourse for delaying ejaculation and helping you last longer. It will not only intensify your orgasm but also improve the sexual pleasure of your partner.

Keep in mind that you should take it slowly in the beginning. Never overdo the exercise. Do as many sets and as many repetitions as you are comfortable but do not do too much too quickly.

It usually takes around three months to really notice an effect of these exercises on your erections, ejaculation, and orgasms. For some men, this may happen sooner and for others it may take a little while longer. However, one thing is for sure, practicing Kegel exercises will surely bring about an improvement in your sexual pleasure and make you a better lover.

In fact, if you have problems such as premature ejaculation, try these exercises before even consulting a doctor. You may be surprised to see the control that you are able to have on your ejaculation with the help of these techniques.

I had unprotected sex with my bf for 6 times in 6 months. Now I am having a pain in vagina walls and even having a sharp pain during urination and is having frequent urination but small amounts of urine with pain n sensation plus itching. I am also having vaginal discharge more than normal. Is it a bacteria or yeast infection? Or do I have to test for STD. Because I can see the symptoms same as UTI or Yeast infection or STD. Can you please suggest me is it severe?

Most likely it is a UTI combined with vaginal infection which could be either bacterial or fungal or both, so now you just need to take an antibiotic course orally with candid vag tabs to be inserted Vaginally along with urispas and alkaline citra syrup ,drink loads of water and maintain personal hygiene by changing your under garments two to three times a day.
