Take protein rich food with mineral like calcium, zinc and magnesium---eggs, milk products, seeds, pulses, dry fruits etc. Whole grains, fruits, vegetables and greens provide carbohydrates, vitamins and minerals. Have vigorous physical exercise to improve absorption of food and blood circulation. Games like basketball, volley ball and stretch exercises like pull ups, cycling will be helpful. Chances are better for the age group up to 20 years.

Hi, Hollow cheeks can be a result of aging. As you grow older, your face muscles lose their normal tone and elasticity. The result is sagging skin on your face, wrinkles and hollow cheeks. Failure to eat a healthy diet, dehydration or exposure to excessive sun may also contribute to hollow cheeks. Engaging in regular exercises that work out your face muscles can help prevent or lessen the prominence of hollow cheeks. -Cheek inflation- It is performed by holding your mouth closed and filling it with air. Begin by moving the air under your upper lip and hold it there for 10 seconds before moving it to your left cheek followed by your right cheek. Be sure that you hold the air for 10 seconds in each position. -Exercise With a Smile-It is performed by looking into a mirror and smiling while keeping your mouth closed. Follow this exercise by wrinkling your nose to help stimulate the muscles located under your cheek. -Cheek lifting-The ‘cheek lifting’ exercise entails lifting your cheeks by smiling as you press down on the lower part of your eye socket using your index fingers. You can also tone the facial muscle beneath your eyes by performing eye exercises. With your mouth open, pull your upper lip inwards. Then, while looking upwards, narrow your eyes and place your fingers just below the lower eyelids. Gently press downwards as you try to close your eyes. Hold this position for 4 to 5 seconds, release and do five to 10 repetitions. The facial yoga exercises work out all muscles of the face and help eliminate sagging facial skin and wrinkles.

Avoid salt, oil, butter. Take green vegetables, fruits. Take juice of lemon, pudina, lahsoon, tulsi. Eat regular food and avoid junk food. Do some regular exercise or walking as advised by cardiologist.

Dear Lybrate User, To gain weight you need to combine a balanced eating pattern with regular physical activity. You should be eating at least 6 small meals a day, rather than sticking to 3 square meals. You could divide it as 3 main meals and 3 snacks. You need to be eating every 2-3 hours. Space out snacks during the day so you don't spoil your appetite. Bread, cereal, rice, whole wheat, dalia and pasta: biscuits, and corn-bread are good sources of carbohydrates. Fruits: dried fruits, fruit nectars, and large quantities of fresh fruits vegetables: include, potatoes, peas, corn in your diet. Meat, poultry, fish, dry beans, eggs, and nuts: beef, pork, lamb, poultry, salmon, omelets, nuts, peanut butter, kidney beans, chickpeas will help you gain weight. Include dairy products like milk, yogurt, and cheese: milk, fruited yogurts, hard cheeses, ice cream, puddings, custards, milkshakes. -nuts and seeds make a healthy option for snacks. -roasted channas and peanuts are good -peanut butter on the sandwiches are a great mid-meal choice. -you must know that cereals actually contain some healthy calories. Stay hydrated: drinking plenty of water and other fluids like juices, milk, soups etc, will work in your favor. Do not drink water before a meal and in between the meal as it may make you lose your appetite, thus calorie intake suffers. Sleep: at least 8 hours of sound sleep is a must.

With lifestyle modification, proper diet and regular exercise, in 30% of cases patients can control their diabetes without any medicines. There are no shortcuts for curing diabetes. Stem cell therapy has shown some promising results, but still it is in research phase. Metabolic surgery, again has shown some promising results in curing type 2 diabetes, but you should consult good metabolic surgeon for that.

Magnesium Deficiency - How it Affects Your Body?

We all know about magnesium as a mineral, but what most individuals do not know is the fact that it is a very important mineral for our bodily health. Magnesium is involved with more or less 300 complex metabolic processes in our body, thus earning the title of ‘master mineral’.

Here is a list of reasons why magnesium holds an important place in our body.

It is responsible for transportation of calcium across cell membranes. As such, it helps calcium get into the bone matter. Like we all know, magnesium is anti-inflammatory. It helps in waiving conditions mentioned below:

  1. Arthritis
  2. Alzheimer’s disease
  3. High blood pressure
  4. Respiratory issues
  5. Diabetes

So magnesium deficiency can definitely cause numerous problems in the human body. This element works in our body at a cellular level. It is important to have a check up done with the doctor to ensure the magnesium level, however, a simple a blood test cannot determine the presence or absence of it. Here are a few signs that might suggest that an individual is suffering from magnesium deficiency.

  1. A lot of calcium deficiency which means brittle bones
  2. Very poor heart health
  3. A lot of unnecessary weakness
  4. Very frequent muscle cramps at unusual situations
  5. Tremors, nausea and unnecessary anxiety
  6. High blood pressure and type 2 diabetes
  7. Difficulty in swallowing the food
  8. Poor memory
  9. Lots and lots of useless confusion

Although individuals with magnesium deficiency suffer from these symptoms, it is not necessary that any individual suffering from such symptoms might have magnesium deficiency. So, the only way to improve magnesium amount in the body is by changing your diet and including magnesium rich foods or my supplementing your food with magnesium-based food products.

Magnesium overdose is close to impossible and so many would not check their magnesium intake. However, consuming too much of anything can never be a good idea. Excessive magnesium intake might end up causing the following issues:

  • Irregular heartbeats in individuals
  • Slow breathing
  • Diarrhoea

This excess amount of magnesium in the body might be due to the fact that not all supplements can be easily absorbed by the body. So it is a better idea to eat inexpensive food to keep the magnesium levels at par with the bodily requirements.

  1. Seeds of pumpkin
  2. Seeds of sun flower
  3. Soya bean
  4. Black beans
  5. Sesame seeds

Kindly show me digital x rays of affected part.(right knee) rule out diabetes & vit. D deficiency or any other metabolic disorder. Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Spring beds, folding beds or thick matress are harmful use no pillow under the head. Do hot fomantation. Ibuprofen 200mg od & sos x 5days bio d3 max 1tab od x10 do neck, back, knee & general exercises. It may have to be further investigated. You will need other supportive medicines also. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take. Do reply back for detailed treatment plan. Do not ignore. It could be beginning of a serious problem.

its very important to know how long back was your delivery to suggest exercises. Kapalbhati is likely to give you good results. Squats, crunches, toe touching exercises, side bend for shaping abs. Combine it with 30 minutes brisk walking.

Hello, you can take 1. Tablet meftal spas one tablet stat after food 2. Tablet pantocid 40 mg before food once a day for 2-3 days. And follow care advises given below. Avoid food from outside, junk, fried, spicy fatty food take home made light food like moong dal, dalia, chapatti also tell me associated symptoms like vomiting sensation, loose motion/ burning sensation in chest or any other symptoms are present or not? so that we can reach diagnosis.
