Rajma-chawal, red kidney beans are used extensively all over the globe.They are called 'kidney beans' due to their shape which resembles the human kidney. They are one of the tastiest beans and belong to lentils food group. Red kidney beans are known as 'rajma' in India and they form an important part of a vegetarian diet due to their excellent protein content. But the protein they contain is incomplete and they should always be paired with a cereal (carbohydrate) to improve their biological value, in other words, improve the quality of protein.

Prevents diabetes


Red kidney beans fall into the category of low glycemic index foods and they do not spike the blood glucose levels post meal in diabetics. In other words, they raise the blood glucose levels very slowly. Also, they contain good quality carbohydrates and lean protein which makes them a healthy option. And the cherry on the cake is that they are low in fat too. Also, the two amino acids which regulate insulin levels - arginine and leucine are present abundantly in red kidney beans.

Lowers cholesterol levels

Rajma is a tremendous source of soluble fibre which helps lower cholesterol levels. Soluble fibre forms a gel when it comes in contact with the stomach contents and this binds the cholesterol and prevents its re-absorption back into the system, thus lowering blood cholesterol levels.

Prevents hypertension

Nutritious red kidney beans are also a very good source of potassium and magnesium along with soluble fibre and protein which helps maintain blood pressure within normal range and protects the overall heart health. As arthritis is very common that you get generally bilaterally. Ice therapy would definitely help to reduce the inflammation. We also advise you to use knee cap which would help to prevent the knee from damaging further and also to maintain the quadriceps muscle tone. You can take Ultrasonic therapy in one of the nearby physiotherapy clinics which would help to heal the damaged cartilages along with shortwave diathermy which would help to improve the blood circulation. Hello,if the x-ray is clear, that means you dont have any bony injury...but there may be some soft tissue injury in the knee joint which can only be seen in MRI or get a proper examination of your knee from an orthopedic to know what is the exact problem.In the meanwhile just avoid exerting your knee a lot,wear a knee support and avoid doing any exercises like squatting,lifting etc.ALSO take precautions like cross legged sitting ,climbing stairs up and down,using of indian toilet.Do icing 3-4 times a day and keep your leg elevated.

I am a boy of 21 years of age. From last 1 month due to some gym activities I increased my protein intake and I was taking around 10 egg whites a day plus 2 more whole eggs. From the last 2-3 days I am having this problem that my stomach seems always full even if I don't take a single thing, and I feel like vomiting through out the day and the tendency increases just after I take my meals, now even I have changed my diet to normal diet, with the things I used to consume before. 24 hours a day I feel like my stomach is full and after I take the food this vomiting tendency increases. Stool is OK till now, no pain is felt till now in abdomen or anywhere else and this nausea is constantly causing irritation.

Start from 4 eggs and slowly increase the quantity. This way your stomach will get accustomed to the intake. To try and avoid the occurrence of this feeling, and the underlying condition that may be causing it, there are certain steps you can take. Eat a healthy and balanced diet, ensuring to chew your food properly before swallowing, and eating slowly, avoiding swallowing air when swallowing food and eating a series of small meals throughout the day, as opposed to eating large meals. Avoid alcohol, cigarettes, spicy foods, excessive amounts of teas or coffee, carbonated beverages (especially when eating), and lying flat or sleeping immediately after a meal. If your symptoms do not dissipate even after trying the lifestyle changes noted above, then you should pay a visit to your doctor to identify what is causing your problem.

everyone doesn't have pearl white teeth. your teeth color matches your skin colour. you can go for scaling and polishing followed by bleaching for more whiter teeth. stop using lemon juice on teeth. In long term, it will erode the enamel surface, making the tooth sensitive.

For a healthy weight gain Few diet tips - Not to eat fried food items and Can eat All green vegetables, moong , chana , Dal , rice etc And to apply ghee over chappati and don't apply oil over chappati And to drink milk mixed with turmeric powder twice a day And If possible eat eggs on alternate days And If possible in breakfast eat atleast one bajra ka rotla And Eat seasonal fruit

If you are scared that you have diabetes, then simply get your blood sugar levels - fasting (empty stomach for minimum 8 - 10 hours) and post prandial (sugar levels after 2 hours of eating food) along with hbaic levels (reflect your previous 3 months average glucose levels) done. From these tests you can determine whether you have diabetes or not.

Sudden high grade fever, chills & rigors, respiratory track infection since last more than 3days. 1/4th part reduced boiled water with sunthi powder drink ship by ship after 15-20min every time whole day. Diet- 1) mung (green gram) soup 2) rice water 3) rice + mung daal (prepared with ginger + coriander leaf) 4) mung daal khichadi along with geggery one most important thing if he have fever than sponging on forehead & chest region with cold water to control. Plz do not b so hurried for lifting more n more weight, it should b increased as per advice of your Gym Instructor. How ever you may take Ashwagandha churna n Shatawari churna 3 grams each with a cup of milk twice a day to increase stamina n strength. Dairy products like milk, cheese, butter n curd etc will also help.

With the change in lifestyle and stressful work profiles, a few ladies lean toward fasting with little alterations like tasting some water, tea or coffee. Few of them likewise consume fruits and dry fruits. In case you are fasting the altered way, you can begin your day with the same meal excluding dry fruits, fruits and coconut water.

These things can be included later in the day when you truly feel the need. Abstain from drinking an excessive amount of tea or coffee. Likewise, abstain from eating anything sweetened and high in sugar items while you are fasting. As the time gap will be long between your meals, eliminating these foods will help you stay away from unnecessary stress on the digestive system. This is how you can fast the healthy way during Karva Chauth:

  1. Nuts: Have plenty of nuts, for example, almonds and walnuts as they build up your energy for the day and are highly beneficial for your health. These nutritious nuts are high in fats that are essential for the body (connected to anti-aging and bringing down cholesterol). They are high in protein, which will keep you satisfied for a longer period of time.
  2. Water: Drink two to three glasses of lukewarm water. In case the water is warm, it gets consumed quicker as it matches the surrounding body temperature. This is essential to fuel up your reserves at the time of your sargi.
  3. Tea: It is an individual decision to consume some fluid at night. For those of you, who might want to do this, ensure in case you are having tea, to drink it with plenty of milk. Generally having tea on an empty stomach will increase the acidity of the stomach and may bring about pain.
  4. Sargi: In the morning while you have sargi, maintain a strategic distance from extremely sugary foods. In case that it is an absolute necessity, have just a bit to taste. The guideline is that sweet foods have a tendency to disturb hunger later in the day. So stay away from those appetite enhancers by keeping away from a lot of sweet. Homemade paneer is a healthy choice as it is high in protein and will in this way give you energy.

7.2 kgs is alright for a 1.5 year old child. There is nothing to worry about her weight. Still you can give her a healthy and nutritious diet to ensure that she is having healthy mental and physical development. For this, give her egg yolks, curd, fruit shakes, besan cheela, chicken soup, fish, vegetables, prantha.
