I am suffering from dust allergy. When I got such condition, water discharge from my eyes and nose as well as much sneezing.

Fellowship in Cornea and Refractive Surgery (FCRS), DNB (Ophthalmology), MBBS
Ophthalmologist, Mumbai
Yes these are the symptoms associated with a dust allergy. When the eyes are very watery or turn red the allergy may have increased - for this you need to take anti - allergic eye drops. However there are many types of drops and which one you need will be decided once an eye surgeon has examined you. Occasionally, anti allergic tablets maybe helpful during the acute phase.

Hello. Eyes have many small blood vessels. It is normal and is required for nutrition of eye. Eye redness is most often due to swollen or dilated blood vessels. This makes the surface of the eye look red. There are many causes of a red eye or eyes like infection, allergy. Foreign body in eyes. Some are medical emergencies and some are a cause for concern, but not an emergency. Others are nothing to worry about. Consult your local eye specilist to see what is the cause.

I have some problem with my eye. I can not see in night. What is the reason for that?

DHMS (Diploma in Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery)
Homeopath, Ludhiana
This condition is called Night blindnes-------Night blindness is due to a disorder of the cells in the retina that are responsible for vision in dim light. It has many causes, including:--------- •Short-sightedness----------- •Glaucoma medications that work by constricting the pupil----------- •Cataracts-------------- •Retinitis pigmentosa----------------- •Vitamin A deficiency-------------------- Treatment for night blindness will depend upon its cause. Treatment may be as simple as a new prescription for your glasses or switching glaucoma medications, or it may require surgery in cases of cataracts---------------------- Dietary Management For Night Blindness--------------------Vitamins A, C and E are potent antioxidants which slow down age related macular degeneration and help maintain healthy tissues and cells in the eyes. Vitamins C and E may also inhibit the development or progression of cataracts. Lutein and zeaxanthin are two antioxidants called carotenoids, which help in neutralizing free radicals and maintaining eye health.------------------------

I use phones longer time sometime I am not able to see clear things I have red eyed too what should I do?

DHMS (Diploma in Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery)
Homeopath, Ludhiana
Mobile screen is made up of hundreds of tiny pixels that are constantly moving. Our eyes in turn are not naturally able to set focus on these constantly moving pixels, and hence we try to focus on an area behind the actual screen. Therefore, in order to work on a mobile, our eyes need to keep on fluctuating focus between their natural point of focus and the pixels on the screen. And this tires the eyes and causes a lot of wear and tear.As a result, we suffer from irritation, which may range from a number of things like headaches, dry eyes, blurred vision, problems in focusing and faulty color perception, to something as severe as glaucoma. The electromagnetic waves that are emitted by a mobile phone can be extremely damaging to the eyes. It has been studied and well documented that these cell phone waves can have a damaging effect on the various parts of the eye, including the retina and the cornea. Moreover, they can cause cataract too. Moreover it is more distressing for our eyes to view contents on a tiny screen which requires even more concentration and extenive usage of eyes without blinking thus causing Eye dryness making them vulnerable to frequent Eye problemss. . The solution for this problem I its reduced usage and while uing mobiles use them inproper light. There is nothing more effective than controlling usage to reduce and negate the effects. You can also reduce the intensity of the mobile’s screen by attaching a filter or by getting an eye-friendly screen. Above all, one must try to reduce the amount of mobile usage or take frequent breaks. Homoeopathic Eyedrops CINELUBE EYEDROPS ( HAPDCO) pour 2 drops 3 times daily.

It could be style or chalazion. Do continue warm compress with lukewarm water soaked cotton 3 to 4 times a day. Oral antibiotics and eye drops should be used. Chalazion or style may burst to exude pus. Show to eye specialist. It may need minor surgery at times.

I am 22 year young man. I have problem of eye site increase because of working in laser cutting. Please give me proper solution.

FICO, DNB Ophtalmology
Ophthalmologist, Gandhinagar
Hello lybrate-user. While working with laser/ welding, etc. It would be a good idea to wear proper protection glasses. These glasses tend to shield from the harmful rays emitted. Lasers of any type should not be allowed to enter eyes unless for therapeutic purpose. Also, it would be a good idea to protect your body from the harmful effects of laser radiation. Do not allow laser exposure to any body parts. Get your eyes screened regularly. This will enable the doctor to diagnose and treat any problem in the early stages. Hope my suggestions helped you.

Hello, You mean under eye dark circles? Common reasons for dark circle are aging, genetics, nutritional deficiency (of vitamin A, C, K, E), sleep deprivation, worm-infestation, anemia, smoking & drinking, dehydration, sun exposure, allergies, stress/ tension and hormonal changes. Dark circles are linked to anemia, and liver diseases. So, in case of dark circles which are there due to some underlying cause can be get rid rid of once the causative factor is rectified. But the dark circles which are inherited from our genes can't be removed completely, to some extent can make slightly better. Diet and Management: Always take a balanced diet rich in green leafy vegetable, dairy products and all types of fruits to keep your body healthy. It is advisable to have at least 10-12 glasses of water and include fresh fruit daily. It is also advisable to restrict the intake of caffeinated drinks such as tea, coffee, alcohol and other caffeinated drinks as it aggravates dehydration. Take enough of 6-8 hrs. Of sleep. Avoid taking stress/ tension. Do daily exercising regularly as it increases oxygen carrying capacity of the cells and tissues. Medication: Take homoeopathic medicines – Schwabe's Cina 1M/ one dose at night for 10 days; Alfaalfa Tonic and Five Phos. - both twice daily for 20 days. Revert me there after.
