My father is having problem of cervical decompression and having neurogenic bladder and said for operate. But my dad fear from operate a lot. Whole family tried to make him understand from 1 month but all in vain. Doctor said operation is necessary and needed fast as problem is increasing. Dad is in tension. It feels like you are having knee Osteoarthritis. Osteoarthritis can occur at any time of life but the incidence increases with age. It usually affects people over 40 years of age. There is no cure for osteoarthritis but the progression of the disease can be slowed and pain and disability reduced. Treatment options include: Healthy body weight: Maintaining a healthy body weight will reduce stress on the arthritic joints. Nutritional supplements Supplements such as glucosamine have been reported to relieve the pain of osteoarthritis and halt, or even reverse. So please try to take this supplement once a day. Exercise Exercise can assist with the maintenance of muscle strength and the mobility of arthritic joints. Activity at a level that does not cause pain is not thought to worsen osteoarthritis. Non weight-bearing exercises such as swimming or aqua jogging in a heated pool may be beneficial. Range-of-motion and stretching exercises will help maintain the maximum possible movement in the joint. Stretching will help maintain or restore flexibility to the joint’s muscles and tendons. Cycling is a good exercise. You can apply cold or heat several times a day to reduce your knee pain. Just remember to cover the cold pack with a towel and keep your heating pad at a low setting to avoid burning your skin. Whether you use heat or cold, remove it after 20 to 30 minutes. If the knee is swollen or sore, the following positions and activities you should avoid until knee pain and swelling resolve: Squatting Kneeling Twisting and pivoting. Do check your vitamin d3 zinc s. Alk. Phosphate from nabl lab and do have hot and cold water fomentation thrice a day for 10 days.

It can be due to faulty posture, related to weak muscles, issues with intervertebral disc, narrowing of spinal canal, any bony instability besides many other, so accurate diagnosis is the key to proper management of the condition. I had a knee dislocation while playing shuttle badminton on 28 feb 15. My mri reports, acute acl tear, type ii sprain of mcl and lcl, kissing bone marrowconfusion knee bones and mild to moderate joint effusion. Grade ii meniscial lesion ofposterior horns of both meniscui. Allopathy doctors advised for surgery. Can you advise me?

Since there is marrow contusion on the mri, it means that the bones are also affected. Best would no to rest your knees and do extensive physios. Use a brace to support the knee in the meanwhile. After 6 weeks of you still have pain or instability in the knees, consider arthroscopic surgery for both menisci and acl reconstruction.

I am 30 yes old boy my question is during fast running I have so many pain in my leg above ankles. Kindly advise me.

Hello lybrate user, pain above the ankle around the outer side of leg is common after fast running. It is due to spasm of a muscle called as tibialis anterior whose primary role is to pull the foot towards your body at the ankle joint. So after running this movement by the muscle is repeated vigorously causing it to go into spasm and later pain. Thank you.

I am 23, having a pain just above left lumbar side from last 2 year, especially when I lay on bed night. Now a days it began to feel in day time also. I did sonogram test but found nothing. Hard exercise sometimes helps to recovered from the pain for a few hours. What can I do.

Firstly avoid toward bending and lifting heavyweight then start heat fermentation twice a day and apply pain relief ointment. Sit straight and start spine extension exercise.

Dear lybrate-user, hello, use a firm mattress and use commode and avoid stairs. Do hot fomentation and apply a local gel. Twice a day and wear ls belt. Get physio. For about 10 days. Take ultracet 1 tab. Sos. Once the pain has subsided to 50-60 %. Learn and regularly do exercises. Take care. Edit answer.

Advice. Avoid sitting cross legged. Avoid squatting- quadriceps exercises- lie straight, make a towel role and put it under the knee, press the keen against the role, hold it for 20 secs. Repeat 20 times twice a day. This will help relieve some pain. Core strengthening exercise- straight leg raised with toes turned outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Hams stretching- lie straight, take the leg up, pull the feet towards yourself, with a elastic tube or normal belt. Repeat 10 times, twice a day. Sports taping- stretch the tape from both ends and apply on the affected area contrast fomentation (hot and cold).

To treat low BP follow these methods: • Anaemia is a cause of low BP so check your hemoglobin level (Hb) if this is low so eat green leafy vegetables, beetroot and fruits like pomegranate. • Eat an apple daily it maintain your BP normal. • Take your meal daily do not skip meal. • Drink 8 - 9 glass of water daily. Hydrate your body well with drinking proper amount of water because dehydration is also cause fall of BP. • When you feel that your BP is low then take 2 teaspoons of Glucon D and add a pinch of salt mix it in one glass of water and drink it. You can repeat it after 2 hours. This will maintain electrolyte balance and your BP. You can drink a cup of tea. • Drink a glass of milk daily. It maintain your stamina. • Take a multivitamin capsule daily for 15 days. • Eat a teaspoon of gulkand daily and maintain your blood sugar level. • Do long breathing pranayams daily and do not take stress.

Hi Doctors, my mother is 59 years old she is having knee pain in both legs from past 8 years her weight is 104 kg, as per the recent digital knee scan in both legs their are gaps in knee joints .she hardly walk due to pain. She get a little relief from daily tablets .orthopedician have suggested to go for knee transplantation we have got information from many friends and relative as well as some doc about the knee surgery materials. Knee implants made of a metallic alloy, cobalt chrome, or of stainless steel wear out in about 15 years, while the new oxinium implants last twice as long is that .a well know orthopediciansuggested johnson.

Hello. Maintain a right standing and sitting posture, keep your back always straight, avoid carrying weight on back. Hold or carry weight divided equally in both the hands or shoulders (to avoid over straining on one particular hand or shoulder). Lie down on bed on your back without pillow. Exercise: Practice Shavasana or Corpse Pose as it looks like a dead body. If practiced correctly and with full efforts, can relax every body part, relaxing not only the body but also the mind: Spread the legs one to two feet apart, the toes are turned outwards, the heels facing each other, a comfortable distance apart. Bring the arms a little away from the body, palms turned upward. Relax the neck and allow it to turn to the side if it is more comfortable. Close the eyes and focus the attention on the body, breathing normally.
