Hello doctor my mother has burning sensation on both her feet with numbness (she feels something between her feet and the ground, what medication you'll recommend?

Dip. SICOT (Belgium), MNAMS, DNB (Orthopedics), MBBS
Orthopedist, Delhi
Hi thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from fortis hospital, new delhi. I need to understand since when are these burning sensations present and what actually is a cause for this? normally these paresthesias are due to nerve involvement somewhere. Medications like gabapentin and pregabalin are helpful in low doses to begin with, but we need to understand what is the cause first. Do not hesitate to contact me if you need any further assistance.

Avoid all kinds of dairy products, yogurt, chocolate, eggs, citrus fruits, meats, cereals as wheat (bread, pasta, etc.), nuts and peanuts, tomatoes, onions, corn, apples, peaches and bananas. Hi, I have one problem. i was shivered at fear and when I carry some weights even to take selfie with mobile on that ...
Dear Seshuk, Shivering may be due to anxiety, or due to thyroid problem or due to some drugs you use or smoking or other neurological causes. Please don't avoid taking selfie or other scary moments. If you continue, the fear and shivering will be reduced. However consult a doctor for diagnosis and treatment.

Difficult to say regarding medication. But it seems he might have seizure episode during that 2 to 3 minute of memory loss. A EEG would be a better investigation. Consult a neurologist.

I m having migraine nd headache from last 15 days so please prescribe me a good treatment so I can feel good.

COMT, MPTh/MPT
Physiotherapist, Surat
Headaches due to migraine is very common these days especially in young adults because of there lifestyle and working environment. Sometimes pain is very severe on one side of the head.  So I would recommend you to avoid stress and anxiety, quiet the mind from distractions. Stay calm positive and do deep breathing exercises, listen some music that would give you some relaxation. If pain is severe then place ice pack over forehead and lie down for some time to relax your mind and give you comfort and stress full life. Massage your head using levander oil or clove oil as it removes toxins from body. You can use mint or clove spray for inhaling in case of headache. If pain is severe you can also apply ginger paste over the painful area. Avoid taking caffeine, alcohol, phenylethylamine (found in chocolate and cheese), tyramine (found in nuts and fermented meats, cheeses, and soy), and aspartame (in many artificially sweetened foods) as sometimes these all exaggerate pain instead use basil leaves tea or ginger tea boiled nicely in water without milk. Regular intake of healthy dietry food rich in proteins and vitamins. Avoid fasting - Eat breakfast, lunch and dinner at fixed timings. Make yourself busy by fulfilling your hobby as it will give you freshness and your mind will be diverted from normal life which help in pain reduction. Take min 7 hours of sleep. Make a habit of 20-25 min walking daily along with some meditations. If required then only take pain relieving tablets like naprosyn For more help or instructions please consult. Good Luck and Get Well Soon.

MBBS, MD Psychiatry, DNB Psychiatry
Psychiatrist, Nagpur
Migraine is a kind of relapsing headache. Its symptoms include - episodic unilateral or bilateral, severe and pulsating headaches, associated at times with nausea and vomiting, relieved momentarily on rest or taking medications and aggravated by precipitating factors. The treatment of migraine is mainly done for relief from acute headache attacks and later treatments to prevent future relapses. Also treatment of factors which tend to cause relapses is also important. Consult a headache specialist for a composite and complete treatment.
