Sir I have some problem in left eye. My I side so weak. So what should I do. For this problem.

BHMS
Homeopath, Faridabad
Hello, Get your eyes tested from an Opthalmologist. Include the following for getting better vision: Vitamins A, C, E, and minerals like copper and zinc are essential to eyesight. Get the antioxidants from dark leafy greens, egg yolks, yellow peppers, pumpkin, sweet potatoes, and carrots. Include garlic and onions. Blueberries, grapes as they have antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties that can help improve your vision. DHA is a fatty acid found in coldwater fish like salmon, sardines and mackerel. Exercises for eyes: Warm your eyes. Rub your palms together to create heat, and then place them against your eyes for five seconds. Repeat this three times. Roll your eyes. Start by looking up and then slowly circle 10 times clockwise and 10 times counterclockwise. Focus. Hold a pen at arm's length, focus your eyes on it, and slowly bring the pen closer until it's about 6 inches away from your nose. Then slowly move it back, keeping your eyes focused on the pen, 10 times in all. Massage your temples. Using your thumb knuckles, massage your temples in small circles, 20 times in one direction and 20 in the other. Repeat the same actions above the mid-point of the eyebrows at the forehead, then below the eyes on both sides of the bridge of the nose. Take a mini-nap. Put your head back, close your eyes, and relax for 3 minutes. Insufficient sleep may weaken your vision, so shoot for 8 hours of sound sleep a night. Rest your eyes 10 minutes for every 50 minutes spent reading or in front of the computer. If your eyes feel overly tired, lie down and place cooling cucumber slices over your eyelids. Medication: Take homoeopathic medicine which will help you in preventing first and reducing the power of your eyes. Take Physostigma 6/ thrice daily for 1 month. Thereafter, revert back for further guidance.

Foods for eye health

Carrots really are good for your eyes. So are spinach, nuts, oranges, beef, fish, whole grains, and many other foods in a healthy diet. Look for foods with antioxidants such as omega-3 fatty acids; vitamins c, e, and beta-carotene; as well as zinc, lutein, and zeaxanthin. Research shows those nutrients may make age-related macular degeneration less likely.

Only practical thing that you can do is wear your glasses regularly and get your eyes tested once in a year. Needless to say that avoid junk food and eat healthy. Spectacle power usually does not go by natural means.

Hello. I think you have allergic conjunctivitis. 1. Eye allergies, called allergic conjunctivitis, are a common condition that occurs when the eyes react to something that irritates them (called an allergen). 2. The eyes produce a substance called histamine to fight off the allergen. As a result, the eyelids and conjunctiva (the thin, filmy membrane that covers the inside of your eyelids) become red, swollen and itchy, with tearing and burning. The key to treating eye allergies is a. Avoid or limit contact with the substance causing the problem. B. Avoid rubbing eyes instead do cold compresses. C. Use antiallergic eyedrop like olopat eyedrop twice daily d. Lubricating eyedrop like flogel thrice daily e. Use mild steroid like flurisone in pulse dose in severe allergy this will help you I am very sorry dear to say that there is no medicine that can cure allergy. Only way is to stay away from all those things that you are allergic to. This is a provisional diagnosis. Consult your ophthalmologist for detailed examination.

What are the different lasik procedures at aiims Delhi and their total cost and surgery waiting time? And for defence aspirant what should be the best option. I have heard about epi lasik. Is it best to opt for it?

Diploma in Ophthalmology, MS - Ophthalmology
Ophthalmologist, Coimbatore
For defence aspirants LASIK (either blade free/ flap less etc) is not advisable as the strength of the cornea is compromised due to the procedure. In the event of a combat, there is a chance that the flap may get dislodged. You can go for contact lenses.

I am a 23 yr old male and have pain in eyes when I use laptop and mobile. What should I do?

FICO, Specialist in Cataract,Cornea and refractive surgeries , MD - Ophthalmology
Ophthalmologist, Srinagar
Some people who have a minimal refractive error will often get away without wearing glasses, but when working on a computer screen or doing a lot of concentrated work, the small prescription can begin to cause symptoms and under these circumstances correcting the prescription with glasses can be helpful. An anti-reflection coating (ultraclear) is often advised to reduce the annoying reflections of light from the lens surfaces. If your eyes are fine and normal then there is no proven glasses that can be prescribed to help. However, some people find that wearing glasses with a tint that absorbs the blue spectrum of light makes vision more comfortable. They are usually tinted a yellow colour. A common problem when working on a screen for long periods is'dry eye. This is because concentrated work tends to reduce the blink reflex that replenishes the tears, and the dry atmosphere and lack of fresh air adds to the problem of insufficent tears. Allowing the cornea to become dry can cause irritation and blurred and variable vision. Use some lubricating eye drops like refresh tearsthat use them at least 4 times a day at least. You do need to look at every aspect of your work environment also. Use proper lighting, dont work in dim conditions should use table and chair. Your table should be of proper height so that you dont have to bend too much. Take rest after 30 mins for few mins, put the tear drops and work again. Do blink intermittently.

I am suffering colour blindness of eyes and many doctors said me that there is not cure or no treatment for colour blindness so I request for please inform me for any naturally treatment for colour blindness.

DHMS (Diploma in Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery)
Homeopath, Ludhiana
There is no known treatment. However, there are special contact lenses and glasses that may help people with color blindness tell the difference between similar colors.---------------------------- color blindness is a lifelong condition. Most people are able to adjust to it without difficulty or disability.----------------- homoeopathic medicine----------------------- santonine 3x (dr reckeweg) chew 2 tab twice daily for 3 months.------------------- if the color blindness is partial ie. If one pigment is missing then the above homoeopathic medicine is very useful in that case as seen in my general practise. I will advise you, that what ever is your condition, you should start taking this medicine for 3 months and thereafter we can review future course of treatment depending upon progress-----------------purely homoeopathic, noside effects.

My eyes are paining from last one week. It getting red normally. Getting pain. Daily when I wake up from bed and normal times. Some of white matter comes normally. Both eyes does occurs sequentially. What was the solution to it?

MBBS, DOMS
Ophthalmologist, Hyderabad
Simple red eyes usually clear by themselves. Home remedies such as washing with plain cold water, applying cold packs to closed eyes, taking a short period of rest, usually helps. If you are studying hard/sleeping inadequately, travelled excessively, have cold or cough - take care of these events as much as possible, it will help. General care includes eating a well balanced diet, sleeping adequately, etc. Give good rest to the eyes, take frequent short breaks during near work. If no response after these measures, make sure to check if you need eye glasses,
