There is nothing to be afraid but you should tell all these things to your parents and doctor. You don't have cancer so just relax and tell your parents.

What are the symptoms of cancer? What are its affects on human body? What are precautions for cancer?

DNB, MBBS
Oncologist, Faridabad
Cancer presents due to uncontrolled proliferation of cells, may present as lump mostly painless, unexplained weight loss, bleeding from any site, cough, difficulty in swallowing, altered bowel habits etc depending on organ effected. Due to uncontrolled growth they not only exhaust body resources but also can cause disruption of body functions and can also go to other organ affecting their functions leading organ failure. Healthy lifestyle and routine screening are helpful.

My father is a tobacco addict. His gums became dilute along with ulcers in his mouth two days ago. He had fever and having constipation. He said that he stops chewing tobacco few days ago and then these problems occurs because of change. Is this possible. I think that he is hiding something serious from us. Maybe ulcers came first and then he leaves tobacco. How can we know that it is not a serious problem like mouth cancer. Suggest me some test or any other mean and where can we have these test.

MBBS, MD - Medicine, MD - Oncology
Oncologist, Delhi
Prevention is better than cure mouth ulcers, gum problem, discolouration of teeth with infection occurs by tobacco. Stoping it will improve the mouth condition. Just bear the problem for few days, take preventive measures and you will see bright prospect.

Hi lybrate-user, I appreciate you seeking help for your grandmother. Presumably, her oncologist must have decided the treatment approach basis a lot of factors including her IHC study. However, should you not be convinced, you can always take an expert second opinion from one another breast oncologist asap, and decide accordingly. An integrative treatment with alternative medicines is likely to help improve clinical outcomes, as contextually possible. You can connect with detailed diagnostics, treatment history etc all for a parallel naturopathic traction as appropriate. Do take care and all the very best.

Regular pap tests i.e. Tests which look for any signs of cervical cancer should be conducted regularly so that it can be detected at its initial stage and can be treated accordingly.

DNB, MBBS

Dear sir, you must not ignore if you are feeling lump in your armpits and throat and also not panic. You must meet a physician to ascertain the cause, it could be some sort of infection but one has to be sure, don't worry all lumps are not cancerous so let physician look and if needed investigate.

I am 30 years old and I am giving breast feeding to my 3 months baby. I observed a small painful lump in my left armpit during my second pregnancy in 9 month, but it disappeared after delivery. Now recently 3 days back I observed the same lump in the same area which is painful. I pressed the lump between the tips of forefinger and thumb it is moving under the skin like ball and it is pea size and deeper too. After sometime pus came from the lump in light yellow colour. Is it dangerous lump or cancer. Iam very much worried about the lump. Did I have to go doctor checkup? which doctor should I go through please clarify my doubts and help me.

Dear , as per your description, you seem to have lymph nodal enlargement in your axilla. Please don't worry regd cancer, as it most likely will be infectiveinfective as it is draining pus. Most probable reason could be nipple crackling and infection which is common in he post partum period. Best would be to consult a general surgeon as you would require drainage of the abscess / fluid under antibiotic cover. He/ she would also tell you he cause and management accordingly. Regards

I am 75 years old mail suffering from secondary metastatic lung lesions and CA 19.9 is 740. I had 12 doses of chemo but the problem is not completely cured. Since it is told that frozen lemon helps in controlling cancer I want to know how much frozen lemon shall I take for better result per day and also whether I can take it in water because vegetables etc. Can not accommodate much. Shall be grateful for your advise.

DNB, MBBS
Oncologist, Faridabad
You have carcinoma pancreas with lung metastases. Vegetables and frozen lemon have protective role but it can not be considered as therapeutic. For treatment chemotherapy is the only option but ofcourse other supportive food do help in enhancing immunity and increase tolerance to treatments.

Sir, my daughter is 18 years and recently found that there is a lump in her left brest. What to do? We got examined, atopsy etc. Found that it is not a cancer tumor. How to get it removed? Or it will be dissolved in course of time? Pls clarify.

PGDMLS, PGDHHM, LLB, PhD Surgery, MS - General Surgery
General Surgeon, Gurgaon
In view of the information provided, it may be a fibroadenoma or a fibroadenosis. Fibroadenoma is painless and can be left as such. There is no medical treatment for it. If it causes any tension or if there is any change in its characteristics, it may be removed surgically. The procedure is simple and can be done as an outpatient (ie without admission to the hospital)

Hi lybrate-user, I appreciate you seeking help for your brother. As I understand, an esophagus cancer as in your brother's case is usually an aggressive cancer. Especially, in the context of a recurrence/ metastasis (to liver and pancreas) despite earlier chemo/radio therapy, neither a cure nor his overall survival can be guaranteed at this juncture. Nevertheless, given his serious condition, as you describe, I would advise that he be given prompt and appropriate palliative care/ support first, preferably in a hospital setting. Again, in the above-mentioned context, I can at most make a sincere attempt to improve his quality of life through safe complementary & alternative medicines (CAM), as an adjunct to the ongoing mainstream conventional treatment, if any. You can connect with detailed diagnostics and treatment history for further traction using CAM. Hope this helps. Do take care and all the very best. Sincerely,

Sir/mam, I had unprotected sex with my fiance on 2nd may. 26 april was the first day of her periods. She has a 35 day cycle. Within two hours of sex she had taken i-pill. But till today she didn't got periods. 50 days over. After 30 and 37 days of sex she checked herself by pregnancy kit at home which came negative both time. She sometimes notices the signs of periods like swollen breast and abdomen pain, back pain but didn't got periods. Is this due to that I pill? Please guide us what to do. And what if she is pregnant as we are not married . Is there any medicine to to cure this irregularity of periods. Please guide us. Thanks.

Hi Pawan definitely this period problem can be solved. however first the cause must be found out. IN your case there are 2 possibilities, pregnancy and hormonal disturbance due to Ipill. I suggest you repeat the test again but with an early morning sample of urine for accurate results. if still negative we can start with medicines to resume her periods.
