Hello lybrate-user, darkening of the face only when the whole body is fair is mostly because of tanning due to sun exposure. Skin lightening creams give temporary fairness. After the effect of these creams fade away, the skin color becomes dark again. In order to prevent darkening of the skin due to tanning, you will have to apply sun screen lotion like sun ban spf 30 lotion all over the face and repeat the application every three hours. The effect of sunscreen fades away within 3 hours and hence it becomes necessary to re-apply. Besides you can use some home remedies to reduce your current tanning: * mix besan with some honey and lemon and apply over the face. Keep it for 15 minutes and wash it off with warm water. * mix lemon juice with honey and apply it all over the face. Keep it till the pack becomes dry and then wash it off with warm water. * grind some masoor daal into a coarse powder. Mix milk in some masoor daal and add a little bit of turmeric to it. Apply it over the face and keep it till the pack becomes dry. Wash it off with luke warm water. The above home remedies can be practiced minimum twice a week.

NEGATIVE THINKING? DON'T DESPAIR, IT CAN BE CHANGED
When a person has been through difficult times like abuse, anger, fear, anxiety, alcoholism etc. In their lives, Often their mind starts having frequent negative thoughts and images which might say that “this the way life is and i cannot ever succeed in life and be happy”. The truth is that everyone has positive and negative thoughts as its normal. But some people tend to believe them as the universal truth and don’t see beyond the limiting nature of these thoughts. Such people will be fearful to make any changes in their life and often feel stuck in situations. They may experience an overwhelming amount of confusion and anxiety, which can be very detrimental in their wish to lead a satisfying and meaningful life.
For the person with social anxiety disorder (SAD), a social or performance situation may elicit thoughts such as "everyone can see how anxious I am" or "everyone is judging me". These thoughts often occur so automatically that the person is not aware of his pessimistic thinking.
People who are clinically depressed may experience bad thoughts more intensely, and view them as evidence that they are worthless or sinful people. The suicidal thoughts that are common in depression must be distinguished from negative thoughts, because suicidal thoughts can be dangerous.People who are depressed typically think in a biased, negative way. They have negative views of themselves (e.g. `I'm no good'), the world (e.g. `Life has no meaning') and the future (e.g. `I will always feel this way')

Negative thoughts like these have several characteristics. They are:
1. Automatic: they just pop into your head without any effort on your part;
2. Distorted: they do not fit all of the facts;
3. Unhelpful: they keep you depressed, make it difficult to change, and stop you from getting what you want out of life;
4. Plausible: you accept them as facts, and it does not occur to you to question them;
5. Involuntary: you do not choose to have them, and they can be very difficult to switch off.

Thoughts like these can trap you in a vicious circle. The more depressed you become, the more negative thoughts you have, and the more you believe them. The more negative thoughts you have, and the more you believe them, the more depressed you become. The main goal of cognitive therapy in counselling is to help you to break out of this vicious circle.

BECOMING AWARE OF YOUR NEGATIVE THOUGHTS
The first step in overcoming negative thinking is to become aware of your thoughts, and of their effects on you. Negative thoughts make you feel bad - anxious, sad, depressed, hopeless, guilty, angry. Instead of being overwhelmed by these feelings, you can learn to use them as a cue for action. Notice when your mood changes for the worse, and look back at what was running through your mind at that moment. Over the course of a few days, you will become more sensitive to changes in your feelings, and to the thoughts that spark them off. You may well find that the same thoughts occur again and again, because negative thoughts are repetitive in nature.

TYPES OF NEGATIVE THOUGHTS
1.MENTAL FILTER: When we notice only what the filter allows us to notice, and we dismiss anything that doesn’t ‘fit’. Like looking through dark glasses and saying that everything is dark and gloomy, not seeing that its actually sunny without the glasses on. Anything, which is more positive or realistic is sieved, ignored, dismissed or we make excuses for. Eg. A change in job means more problems.
2.MIND READING: We assume what the others are thinking about us and decide that they see us as a dumb and stupid person. Eg. My boss thinks that I am not capable
3.PREDICTION: believing that we know exactly what is going to happen in the future. Eg. I am going to fail this test.
4.COMPARE AND DESPAIR: We tend to see only the positive aspects of other people and in comparison, we see only the negative aspects of ourselves. Eg. My colleagues are so knowledgeable and skilled, whereas I have just started my career. Surely, the boss will favour them!
5.CRITICAL SELF: Putting ourselves down, blaming ourselves for situations and events that are not totally our responsibility. Eg. My son failed because I didn’t sit down with him to teach him.
6.SHOULDS AND MUSTS: Thinking or saying “I should”, “I must” puts a lot of undue pressure on us, setting us up for unrealistic expectations from self or others and may not be in touch with reality. Eg. I must always agree to what my father tells me to do.
7.CATASTROPHISING: Imagining that only the worst can ever happen if something doesn’t go our way. Eg. If I lose this job, then I will never get another good job.
8.EMOTIONAL REASONING: Sometimes, we tend to get swayed by our emotions and take decisions based on them, not realising that the emotional reaction is not in scale with the reality. Eg. If I am feeling bad, then it must be really bad. Or if I am feeling anxious, then I must be in danger.
9.MOUNTAINS AND MOLEHILLS: maximising the negatives or minimising the positives in any situation. Eg. The last time I went to the toilet, i slipped and fell... I will slip and fall every time I will go to any toilet.
10.JUDGEMENTS AND EVALUATIONS: Making judgements about events, ourselves, others, or the world, rather than describing what we actually see and have evidence for. Eg. My friends are always critical of the way I look and behave. They have never liked me for anything.
11. BLACK AND WHITE THINKING: believing that something or someone can only be good or bad, right or wrong rather than seeing anything in-between or “shades of gray”. Eg. My husband has never taken care of me and he’s always listening to his mother.
12.MEMORIES OF THE PAST: based on the experiences of the past, which were traumatic, we decide that we are in danger in the present, causing distress in the present. Eg. My boyfriend cheated on me, now I will never date again...all boys are like that.

Don't despair, if you find that you have many of these thinking patterns. Most of us have them. Remember, that these are just thoughts and they can be managed. By being observant, we can learn to challenge them and create more optimistic and helpful styles of thinking, which will elevate our mood and reduce stress and anxiety.
Counselling is a safe space where you can discover your negative thoughts, challenge them and modify them to suit your current needs and environment. This can help you to get more out of your life making you feel more in control, accomplished and satisfied.

U have to continue the treatment if you expect good results. I am starting here but it's not all you have to continue to get a consistent result. Take german reckeweg calcarea carb 1m single dose in morning. Mixed fruit juice daily. Report me after 7 days.

Yes please show it to a dentist at the earliest as it may cause you severe pain any day. It is possible that the tooth may be saved even at this stage. If you delay further, you may lose the tooth totally and may have to get it extracted. I suggest that you send me the pictures of your affected teeth on private consultation so that I can provide you with more specific answers.

Fever is not considered medically significant until body temperature is above 100.4 F (38 C). Fever serves as one of the body's natural defenses against bacteria and viruses which cannot live at a higher temperatures..Also, the body's defense mechanisms seem to work more efficiently at a higher temperature -Fevers of 104 F (40 C) or more may be dangerous and demand immediate treatment The following medications may be used at home for mild fever : -Acetaminophen (dolo-650 mg) twice or thrice can be used to lower a fever . Aspirin should not be used in children during a viral illness. -Wear comfortable loose fitting clothes and donot overdress. Overdressing can cause the temperature to rise further. -Tepid water (85 F [30 C]) baths may help bring down a fever -The body should be cooled with a wet sponge. -Fever can cause dehydration.Drink plenty of fluids.Have citrus fruits, particularly Vitamin C rich ones like mausami,Amla juice etc. -Take light and easily digestible home cooked meals .avoid outside food -Wash your hands frequently with soap and warm water especially before meals, or after returning from a public places or using public transport. -Further therapy depends on the cause of fever like urinary infection/typhoid or malaria/dengue infection and the accompanying symptoms that need to be investigated and treated accordingly

Is there anyway to get rid of stitching scars on my forehead that I got during childhood.  Please tell.
Stiching scars can be reduced by use of proper creams. Kojic acid is a powerful cream to reduce scars and pigmentation. Apply kojic acid based cream on scars at night and sunscreen in the morning.

Melamet is a triple combination cream which is inclusive of steroids mometasone and also retin-a compound tretenoin which are having several side effects and the component among three ingredients which is mainly useful for skin whitening is hydroquinone and the rest 2 will have side effects better not to continue to for longer periods.

A) Take 30 ml of aloe vera juice along with 30 ml of triphala juice and 30 ml of lukewarm water, at night before sleep. B) take 10 ml of fresh lemon juice and 10 gm of jaggary before meals. First of all stop panderm cream. It is very harmful for skin and should not be used at all. Now to reduce the side effects with panderm start with a good sunscreen and moisturising agent. And mild cleanser.

Diet in acute gastroenteritis includes khichdi,daliya,curd,chach,coconut water,electral ORS glucose water (if not diabetic),avoid milk for 1-2 days. Please consult ur treating doctor too as there could be some additional instructions or some food contraindicated. Hope this helps u.

All drugs carry within themselves the potential to treat and harm the skin. Side effects of medicines are a common phenomenon, with variation in the intensities. Sometimes they are minor and do not require medications; however at other times they may require urgent attention and treatment.

Some allergies caused due to medications that primarily affect your skin are:

  1. Itches and rashes: Sometimes your body may be allergic to certain type of medications. If these drugs are taken by you then the immune system treats them as foreign invasions and triggers a reaction against them. In certain cases, on consuming a drug that your body is allergic to, a kind of white blood cell called T cells expand. Itching, rashes on the skin are common repercussions in such a scenario.
  2. Swelling on the face and throat: Often it happens that, on being administered a medicine or an injection, you may experience severe swelling on face and throat. This is an extreme case of medicinal side effect and is commonly known as anaphylaxis. This must be immediately treated and brought to the notice of a trained doctor. 
  3. Blisters: This is also an important potential side effect of a drug. On being administered a drug, you may experience an erosion on the surface of lips and eyes as a reaction against it. Immediate treatment and a consult to the doctor is imperative if you experience these symptoms. 
  4. Swelling of the tongue: If you have high blood pressure and if you take angiotensin converting enzyme, a swollen tongue and persistent cough are the possible side effects. 
  5. Flushing and itching: You may suffer from symptoms of flushing and itching as a possible side effect of the intravenous dyes that are used in the X-rays.
