5 dietary precautions to take during pregnancy

1. Avoid food cooked outside home.

3. Eat everything in moderation
4. You do not have to eat for two people. 300 calorie extra and above your diet is required by most from 4th month onwards.
5. Learn about your body, thin women need more calories while obese will have to restrict their diet.

When I and my husband had protected sex for the first time it was very hard for us. We had unprotected sex after few months and we enjoyed having intercourse very well. My question is If we have sex for the second time is it that it'll be hard like before? It can't go inside easily?

Bachelor of Ayurveda, Medicine and Surgery (BAMS)

Dear lybrate-user reddy, if you are enjoying" unprotected sex" then can continue it by applying some other protection method. You may seek private consultation. Regards,

Hello Dear,Periods occur when the egg formed during each menstrual cycle in the female body is not fertilized and hence ejected out of the reproductive system along with blood and several other tissue cells. The duration of each menstrual cycle is about 28 days Most women will experience their monthly period right from the time they are 13 to the time they are 50. For many women, their monthly period is nothing more than an annoyance; but other women may suffer some problems. Visit us at www.Malhotraayurveda.Com

What doe it mean by low lying placenta in 14 weeks of pregnancy? Is it risky? What is the precautions?

DNB (Obstetrics and Gynecology), MS - Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (MRCOG)
Gynaecologist, Kolkata
Yes it is risky. You may have sudden bleeding per vagina. You need to take rest as much as possible for 1 month because placenta normally migrates and it will migrate upwards by 1 month. Do an usg after 1 month.

My wife had had her periods before 10 days. But now she has again started bleeding with very impure blood. Please tell me Is there any problem because I had used condom while intercourse.

Dear, Menorrhagia is unusually heavy or long menstrual periods. Generally, the menstrual period lasts from 3-5 days and normal flow is between 80-100 ml. If it exceeds this indicate the menorrhagia. Heavy bleeding can lead to an iron deficiency, and ultimately result in anemia other side effects like acne, excessive hair growth and rapid weight gain. Visit us at www.Malhotraayurveda.Com

First of all, buy a pregnancy kit from medical store, it is cheap, accurate and easy to use. If pregnancy is ruled out, meet your gynecologists to get some tests done. Delayed periods can also be due to stress!

Hello, Nausea and vomitting in the initial trimester is quite common. Start your day by having ginger tea, that will help you. Avoid consuming milk early mornings. Dont lie down immediately after food. Small portions of meals will help and drink lots of water throughout the day.

I am five months pregnant my hair falls to much why? What is the home remedy for it.

Ayurveda, Delhi
Dear First check your vitaminD Fenugreek seeds Soak fenugreek seeds in water overnight. Massage the strained liquid into the scalp next morning. Wrap a towel around your head and leave for 4 hours. Shampoo and condition. Lemon juice Prepare a mixture of olive oil, rosemary, egg yolk and lemon juice. Apply all over head, paying special attention to hair roots. Leave for an hour and wash off. Rosemary leaves Boil some rosemary leaves in water for about 5 minutes. Cool, strain and use for your hair wash. Egg yolk Massage a raw egg yolk onto scalp and leave for 15 minutes. Wash and shampoo hair and comb gently with a wide toothed comb. Leave to dry naturally. Do this once a week to strengthen hair roots. Castor oil Mix an equal amount of warm castor oil and almond oil and massage on scalp once a week. Almond oil Massaging just almond oil on scalp 2 -3 times a day will help to stop further hair loss. Aloe vera Coconut milk and aloe vera gel are also very good for hair growth. Massage onto scalp, leave for ½ hour and rinse with warm water. You can repeat this three times a week. Apart from these home remedies for pregnancy related hair loss, make a habit of the following for improved hair health:  Do not use water which is too hot for washing your hair. Use good quality brushes and combs and don’t brush hair too vigorously or too often. Use a mild shampoo suitable for your hair type and wash every third day. Condition regularly.

She had sex first time. But after four days she has pain at her backbone. please tell us about that. What should we do?

BPTh/BPT
Physiotherapist, Kota
Lower back pain you can do it this exercise, 1 Lying on your back, bend your right knee into your chest and place a strap or rolled-up towel around the ball of your foot. Straighten your leg toward the ceiling. Press out through both heels. If the lower back feels strained, bend the left knee and place the foot on the ground. Hold for 3-5 minutes and then switch to the left let for 3-5 minutes. 2….Lying on your back, bend your knees into your chest and bring your arms out at a T. As you exhale lower your knees to ground on the right. Keep both shoulders pressing down firmly. If the left shoulder lifts, lower your knees further away from the right arm. Hold for 1-2 minutes each side I hope you will fit and fine.
