My doc asked me to take pregahope vaginal gel for 3 days & both the times I inserted the tube the liquid spilled out maybe half was in & half was out. Is that okay. whats the right way because I inserted the nozzle of the tube inside. please suggest.

MD - General Medicine
Sexologist, Delhi
Sexual intercourse is an essential act for humans and therefore we should try and understand its mechanics. During copulation, the vagina releases a lubricant that it secretes which tackles vaginal dryness and assists both men and women in deriving greater pleasure from the sexual act. Albeit, natural lubricant is not the only option present. A woman can choose from three uniquely characterized lubricant options, namely - oil based, water based and silicone based. These lubes combined with moisturizers can help a couple derive immense pleasure from coitus. It is important to remember that lubricants for women are used on the most sensitive parts of their body and can prove harsh on their skin, if they fail to adhere to the guidelines before using the tube (s).

I am 38 years old unmarried virgin woman. I had recently been diagnosed with cervical polyp. When I checked on Internet, it was mentioned it mostly happens in case of pregnant women or old woman. I would like to know what could be the cause of this problem in my case and what is the treatment for this.

A cervical polyp is a common benign polyp or tumour on the surface of the cervical canal. They can cause irregular menstrual bleeding but often show no symptoms. Treatment consists of simple removal of the polyp and prognosis is generally good. The cause of cervical polyps is not clearly understood. They might develop from an infection, chronic (long-term) inflammation, or an obstruction or any alteration in blood vessels in the cervical canal. However, large or multiple polyps can sometimes cause problems with fertility or result in recurrent miscarriage. Both polyps and fibroids in the uterine cavity can cause abnormal vaginal bleeding and occasionally cramping. These polyps and fibroids are almost always benign but they may need to be removed to render implantation. The risk of bleeding, infection or injury to the uterus is extremely rare. However, it is the submucosal myoma, inside the uterine cavity, that produces an IUD-like effect of irritating the uterine lining which can prevent implantation. Endometrial polyps (endometrial tissue protruding into the uterine cavity) may have a similar effect.

I have done BHCG test the result came 1.77 mIu/ml. And it was also noted that sample highly lipemic what does it mean? Will it affects my HCG result?

I have done BHCG test the result came 1.77 mIu/ml. And it was also noted that sample highly lipemic what does it mean...
Test is negative. Either it is too early & conception has not occured because it is 20 mlu/ml just after conception on around 14 days or a few days later, levels rapidly keep rising with time as pregnancy progresses till urine starts excreting hcg hormones to be detected on a strip after 2 days of due date. Anyway better collect a container from the lab, if it is to be tested at home. Do share the good news with us.

Hi doctor, please suggest a better contraceptive then condom. I am 34 years and my wife 32. We have 2 kids and completed our family. We are using male condom as contraceptive from a long time. Now we want to change it because it is causing decreased frequency of having sex. Another fact is our kids are growing up now and we can't take risk of hiding condoms here and there.

Copper-t is the best for that the copper t is a simple intra-uterine device (iud) made of a flexible" t" shaped piece of plastic wrapped with a thin copper containing wire. This shape is chosen as it fits the area around the uterus, allowing for the copper t to sit in place for years without moving around.
