2. Have medium to low salt food and avoid heavy salty food as they are responsible for high blood pressure and water retention.
3.Eating watery foods like lassi, watermelon, rice, muskmelon creates swelling in the body. So, better opt for foods which are drying in nature like corn, gram flour, chick pea etc.

Homoeopathic medicines cure PCOS permanently.Homeopathy believes that the human body has been perfectly enabled by nature to keep itself disease free. It is only when the immunity or its own internal vitality is deranged that the body becomes incapable of keeping itself disease free. Therefore Homeopathy tries to restore the balance of that vitality. Once the vitality regains its original balance, it is able to nurse itself back to health without any external aid. That is why homeopathic medicines are given in very minute doses A homoeopathic constitutional treatment will give you a permanent cure naturally You can easily take an online consultation for further treatment guidance and permanent cure without any side effects

I was having period pain for which I consulted a doctor, he did USG along with few other tests but found nothing. He then suggested few iron tablets following which my pain subsided but after I finished the course, I started having heavy bleeding during periods, he then suggested harmony F for 3 cycles but once I completed the course, I skipped a cycle and he suggested Deviry 10. I had the medicine and since then I am getting my periods but my flow is scanty. Almost 2 days instead of my normal 5 days. What can be the cause? Is it because of the medicines?

Dear lybrate-user. Thanks for your question. Scanty menses or periods can occur normally at the extremes of the reproductive life that is, just after puberty and just before menopause. This is because ovulation is irregular at this time, and the endometrial lining fails to develop normally. But normal problems at other times can also cause scanty blood flow. Take care.

How Anal Fissures are Diagnosed?

MS - General Surgery, MBBS
General Surgeon, Jaipur
How Anal Fissures are Diagnosed?

An anal fissure is a small tear or crack in the lining of the anus which causes sharp pain, bleeding, itching, or burning.

An anal fissure can affect people of all ages, and it’s often seen in infants and young children. Constipation is a common problem in this age group and it is a major cause of this problem.

An anal fissure usually isn’t a serious condition. In most cases, the tear heals on its own within four to six weeks. In cases where the fissure persists beyond eight weeks, it’s considered chronic, or long term.

Symptoms-

  1. A visible tear in the skin around the anus
  2. A small lump of skin just next to the tear
  3. A sharp pain in the anal area during bowel movements
  4. Streaks of blood on stools or on wiping
  5. Burning or itching around the anus

Causes-

  1. Straining during childbirth
  2. Straining during bowel movements as a result of constipation
  3. Chronic constipation
  4. Diarrhea
  5. Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD)
  6. Overly tight anal sphincter muscles

In rare cases, an anal fissure may develop due to:

  1. Anal cancer which occurs due mostly to ano-receptive sex without barrier protection
  2. HIV infection
  3. Tuberculosis
  4. Syphilis
  5. Herpes

Let’s take a closer look at these risk factors.

  1. Anal fissures are common in infants and young kids. Older adults also become prone to anal fissures as the blood flow to the anorectal region decreases.
  2. Women also become prone to these fissures due to straining during childbirth.
  3. The inflammation that occurs in the intestinal lining in people with IBD makes the tissue around the anus more prone to tearing, further causing fissures.
  4. People who frequently experience constipation are at an increased risk for fissures. Also, one can suffer from fissures due to straining and passing large, hard stools. In both these cases, one may experience tears in the anal lining.
  5. Frequent diarrhea can also tear the skin around the anus and so can ano-receptive sex without protection. This can lead to sexually transmitted diseases like genital herpes, HIV/AIDS and infection with HPV virus which causes anal cancer.

Treatment-

Treatment usually helps control anal fissures and the discomfort it causes. Your doctor will prescribe stool softeners and topical pain relievers to stem discomfort. However, if these do not make your anal fissure go away then surgery may be required. And in addition to this, your doctor will also need to look for other underlying causes that can cause anal fissures like for example anal cancer.

Diagnosis

  1. An anal fissure can be diagnosed by simple physical exam. The doctor looks at the area around your anus and follows it up with a rectal exam to confirm the diagnosis.
  2. This can mean the use of an anoscope. In this, the doctor inserts an anoscope into your rectum to be able to see the anal tear.
  3. An anoscope is a thin tube and it allows doctors to inspect the anal canal. An anoscope is also used to diagnose other causes of anal or rectal pain such as hemorrhoids or piles. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a General Surgeon.

Why Should You Indulge In Foreplay?

Postgraduate Diploma in Sexology , M.D., Ph.D.
Sexologist, Nagpur
Why Should You Indulge In Foreplay?

Foreplay refers to the preliminary acts preceding the sexual intercourse. Foreplay isn’t given much importance although it is the crucial part of the entire sexual experience.

Why is it important?

Biological Perspective

From the biological perspective, it is extremely important, especially for a woman to indulge in foreplay. Foreplay enhances the arousal thus, causing the erection of the clitoris. The clitoris functions similar to that of the penis. The rushing of blood to the clitoris, leads to its erection which is necessary to achieve an orgasm. Foreplay also elicits vaginal wetness which makes the proceeding penetrative sex easier and painless for both, the man and the woman. The lack of vaginal wetness causes the sexual intercourse to be rather painful and sometimes involve some amount of bleeding. Contrary to the popular myth, foreplay is equally important for both the sexes. According to research, men and women both reported of achieving better orgasms when there was a greater build-up of sexual arousal.

Psychological Perspective

From the psychological perspective, foreplay instills the feeling of security and causes less vulnerability. The lack of foreplay apparently gives a sense of being neglected and denies the emotional assurance needed by most. Research shows foreplay enhances the relationship of the couple outside the bedroom. Foreplay is essentially important in long term relationships as it helps in enhancing the feelings of togetherness. Foreplay is also important in letting the partner feel they have your attention and care. It is essential in instilling psychological security and emotional wellness.

Also, it is necessary to achieve mutual pleasure from the sexual act and hence, attention must be given to the need of both the partners for a fulfilling experience. Foreplay is important in achieving orgasm, especially for women who do not necessarily achieve an orgasm through penetrative sex. With everything said and done, there is nothing wrong with an occasional skipping of the foreplay if that is what both the partners want. It is important to see what each partner is getting out of the entire sexual experience and work according to it. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a Sexologist.
