Hi doctor. Sometimes little pain in my chest's left side in heart from last 5-6 months. What is this please help me.
Dear Lybrateuser, - At your age chest pain could be due to acidity, anxiety or sedentary habits - follow some dietary precautions: - avoid spicy, fried, sour & junk food - chew your food well, do not skip meals, have meals on time, have 4-5 small meals rather than three large meals, do not lye down for about an hour after meals, have dinner 2-3 hrs before bedtime - take syrup Gelusil 2 teaspoonful three times a day half an hour after meals - have 7-8 glasses of water for proper hydration - do regular exercises like walking, jogging, swimming, playing games for 20-30 min, also do yoga, deep breathing for 5-10 min daily in the morning to keep your mind & body fit.

What is the reason of joint pain. How can I cure my diabetes? How blood pressure can be controlled?

What is the reason of joint pain. How can I cure my diabetes? How blood pressure can be controlled?
Mr. Lybrate-user, you have asked three totally different questions. Anyway, joint pains can be due to a number of conditions like rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis and some inflammatory conditions affecting single joint also. Diabetes mellitus, is a disease due to deficiency of insulin or resistance to its action or both. So there is no chance for cure, it can only be controlled by proper medications, diet control, exercise and weight maintenance. Blood pressure if high will also need drug/drugs to control plus salt restriction.

Following could be the causes: * tingling (vibration) can be caused by a disorder of the neck spine, disorders of the elbow, wrist, hand or the fingers itself. The other causes may include: *overuse of the wrist * constant or repeating leaning on the wrist: (cyclists, crutches users, weight lifters.) * hypoglycemia can cause shaking/shivering hands - check on your sugar levels * hypothyroidism could cause vibration in hands/fingers * too much caffeine can make your hands shake - caffeine is present in coffee, tea and soft drinks. * do not skip meals - not having your meal on time or starving, fasting leads to shivering. Note: do not delay and consult your doctor to diagnose the problem. Your doctor will discuss your medical history and general health. He may also ask about your work, your activities, and what medications you are taking. Regards!

Hi gs lybrate-user tips for weight loss eat fresh vegetables daily. Avoid having sugar completely. Eat whole wheat bread instead of white bread; avoid everything made from white flour and make whole wheat bread, chapattis and brown rice a way of life. Do not skip a meal and eat three meals a day. Drink plenty of water to eliminate the toxins from the system. Limit your fat intake to 2-3 teaspoons a day. Increase the fiber intake as it provides a sense of fullness and also prevents hunger pangs. Take antioxidants for protecting the body against the toxins released during weight loss. Exercise catalyzes your efforts to lose weight and even regular walking for thirty minutes can give you the benefits of an aerobics exercise. To improve the metabolism, try increasing the duration, frequency, intensity of your daily workout. Remember that maintaining the ideal weight is a lifetime commitment and not a short-term affair. Firmly believe that the pleasure of being trim and healthy is far better than the pleasure of eating unwisely.

High triglycerides and cholesterol can cause atherosclerotic heart disease or narrowed coronary arteries in the heart can cause the symptoms of angina, when theheart muscle is not provided with enough oxygen to function. Decreased blood supply to the brain may be due to narrowed small arteries in the brain or because the larger carotidarteries in the neck may become blocked. This can result in a transient ischmic attack or stroke. Peripheral artery disease describes gradual narrowing of the arteries that supply the legs. During exercise , if the legs do not get enough blood supply, they can develop pain , called claudication . Other arteries in the body may also be affected by plaque buildup causing them to narrow, including the mesenteric arteries to the intestine and the renal arteries to the kidney. Change life style .do meditation, yoga, Go walk daily, do any one physically activity daily i.e.play any game., Avoid fast foods, oily foods, junk foods, alcohol, smoking, fatty foods, non-veg.,avoid stress, take plenty of water in day time. Dear lybrate user, increasing weight does not mean that you will go fatty. In fact, extra fat serves as a precursor of many diseases. In order to increase your weight as well as stay healthy you have to increase the muscle mass of your body. Normally a muscle undergoes an increase in size when it gets hypertrophied due to weight training. Weight-training leads to the pumping of blood to the muscle resulting in increased protein synthesis in the muscles. This applies to every muscles of human body. So, weight training is a must to increase weight. Whenever a muscle gets hypertrophied it demands protein to expand. Here comes the need of protein supplement. The most effective protein supplement is whey protein. But kindly remember only taking supplement is not enough. You need to take those supplements according to a fixed schedule. For quicker & better results take 40 grams of whey just after waking from sleep at morning. Take another 20 grams of whey just 30 minutes before workout. Again take 40 grams of whey just after you have finished your workout. Kindly remember gaining weight is a time -taking process. So do not expect any result within fortnight.

Does alcohol consumption help cardiac problem. If so what quantity is ideal to consume daily.
This is an old concept that drinking two beers a day has health benefit. There is no scientific evidence to this. Alcohol consumed in any form and any amount is harmful for the body. The effects may be seen early or late but are harmful. It can cause irreversible brain and liver damage. Hope this info is useful for you. Thanks.
