DEAR Lybrate USER. Follow few basic things so that you get better results in short period of time…. 1) take solid diet two times in a day and liquid diet two times in a day. 2) drink only 100-150 ml of lukewarm water during meals …. 3) don’t drink water one hour before meals and one hour after meal…4) avoid oily, spicy, salty, junk, fast, fermented and stale foods…. 5) avoid late night sleeping habits …. 6) do anuloma viloma pranayam regularly early in the morning. A) TAKE 30 ml of divya shawasari pravahi (PATANJALI AYURVEDA) along with 30 ml of lukewarm water after meals, early in the morning on empty stomach and at night before sleep. B) take 1 tablet of SWAS-KASA-CHINTAMANI RASA, early in the morning on empty stomach and at night before sleep. C) take 2-2 tablets of sutshekhar rasa and aarogyawardhini vati after meals. Avoid junk food completely! junk foods like pizza, burgers, sausages, etc. Do not contain any nutritive value. All they offer is fat and added weight. Junk food is the most common factor for putting on weight. Steer clear of these items. Processed food and fast food are delicious no doubt, it is good to have it once in a while but don? t make it a weekly habit. Junk food can trigger stomach and liver disease due to contamination. Dear Lybrate User , Its good to know that you do not wish to use artificial creams / products for glowing skin . Definitely taking multivitamin supplement helps in skin glowing and for other health benefit but i would suggest you go for natural source of vitamin like seasonal fruits - citrus group mainly , dry fruit intake - to incur micro element deficiency etc. Sources - 1. Mr. Lybrate-user, if its painful too, you have a fissure, for which you have to take laxatives, take lot green leafy vegetables & sit in atub of warm water for a period 15min, 3 times in aday for aweek. If your bleeding without pain, kindly visit a surgeon to rule out piles.

IN HYPOTHYROIDISM:--- where there is deficiency of thyroxine hormone leading to sluggishness, tired feeling, weight increase, slow heart beats, intolerance to cold, swelling of legs, feet and face, difficulty in concentrating and at times in speech. Treatment for hypothyroidism is giving thyroxine tablets. And dose are according to level of thyroid for life time. Avoid bad habits . Avoid stress. Some Relax during work. Go for walk, Take plenty of water, high-carbohydrate foods such as potatoes, rice, pasta and bread. Nutrient-rich foods that improve your health may also benefit your thyroid gland, antioxidant-rich fruits and vegetables more plenty of water: Blueberries, tomatoes, bell peppers, and other foods rich in antioxidants can improve overall health and benefit the thyroid gland. Eating foods high in B vitamins, like whole grains, may also help. flax oil, Selenium: Tiny amounts of selenium are needed for enzymes that make thyroid hormones to work properly. Eating selenium-rich foods, such as sunflower seeds or Brazil nuts, can be beneficial. Tyrosine: This amino acid is used by the thyroid gland to produce T3 and T4. Taking a supplement may help, avoid oily foods,junk foods, go for walk. Do Tests every 3 to 6 months. And consult doctor on time.

All About COPD

COPD, which is short for Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease, is a severe form of lung disease that is characterized by increased breathlessness and obstruction of airflow from the lungs. People who are suffering from COPD are at an increased risk of developing lung cancer, heart diseases and many other conditions. It includes progressive lung diseases such as chronic bronchitis, emphysema, few forms of bronchiectasis and refractory (non-reversible) asthma. The former two are the most common conditions contributing to COPD. 

Chronic bronchitis induces inflammation in the airway that carries air to the lungs and fills it with mucus. This either completely blocks the airway or narrows it, causing difficulty in breathing. However in emphysema, the air sacs inside the lungs which inflate and deflate as you breathe in and out, lose their elasticity due to which less air comes in and goes out leaving you breathless.

The best way to treat COPD is to quit smoking. Your doctor may also prescribe you medications or ask you to enroll in a lung rehab program. 
Causes:

  1. Smoking: Smoking is one of the most common causes of COPD. This is because smoking is known to destroy the stretchy fibers in people's lungs and irritate the airways. Even passive smoking is unhealthy. About 90% of the people having COPD are current or former smokers. 
  2. Genetics: Some individuals suffer from COPD even after refraining from smoking. Genes might be at the helm of COPD in such a case. AATD i.e. Alpha -1 Antitrypsin Deficiency, is a protein in the lungs, the lack of which is one of the most common genetic factor causing emphysema. 
  3. Environmental Factors: Breathing in harmful pollutants present in your environment is also one of the causes of COPD. Fumes, dust or certain chemicals are a few examples of harmful lung irritants. Organic cooking fuel may also cause COPD. Exposing yourself to the aforementioned environmental factors for a prolonged period of time increases your risk of developing COPD substantially. 

Symptoms:

  1. Shortness of breath especially after exercising
  2. Wheezing
  3. Tightness in your chest
  4. Unintended weight loss
  5. Lack of energy
  6. Frequent respiratory infections
  7. Wheezing
  8. Cough accompanied by mucus

Diagnosis:

  1. Physical Exam where your doctor monitors the functioning of your lungs. 
  2. Questioning about your past health (Smoking or other harmful lung irritants).
  3. Spirometry and other breathing tests.
  4. Chest x-rays and other tests to eliminate other problems which could be causing your symptoms.

Have balanced diet, regular sleep and light exercises along with kegel exercises and avoiding addictions if any must suffice. Keep a close watch on these 4 things, even if you insist medicines can be prescribed after a counseling session. Regards.

Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. SPRING BEDS, FOLDING BEDS OR THICK MATRESS ARE HARMFUL Use no pillow under the head. DO HOT FOMANTATION. Paracetamol 250mg OD & SOS x 5days. Caldikind plus 1tab OD x10. Do neck, back & general exercises. It may have to be further investigated. You will need other supportive medicines also. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take. If it does not give relief in 4-5days, contact me again.. Do not ignore .It could be beginning of a serious problem.

How to stay healthy in summer ?

In summer sufficient water intake, fruit, juices and moderate spices, may have 2-3 hours day sleep, bath may be twice in a day, moderate exercise, wear white or light cloths, due to excessive sweating loss of electrolytes occurs, so rock salt-sendha namak, kala namaks are beneficial with butter milk, juices, mango panah etc. Light cloths of hand loom, khadi, malmal may be used. If possible few days stay at hill station, resort may be a good change and healthy. Avoid alcoholic preparations, hot beverages, spicy and fried food items. Coconut water, sugarcane juice, water melon, orange juices, khas, coriander-dhania, sandal wood flavored water are beneficial, instead of lassi salty or sweet butter milk is to be preferred. Rose flower gulkand, amla murabba, beal murabba may be consumed, moderate frequent eating is to be preferred than 2-3 times heavy eating. When out may cover scalp-head with cloth, cap, over facial region may apply light cream, coconut, almond oil to avoid excessive heat effects, body may be sprinkled with mild aroma talcum powders, for bath glycerin, margosa- kadva neem, khas, sandle wood soaps may be used. Longer stay in air conditions are not advisable, may be in fan air for few hours, sweat is an excretory material and it should be allowed to out come. Water is life, there is scarcity of water in summer, so water may be provided to needy persons, animals and birds, this is a humanitarian service gives mental satisfaction.

Hot water drink. But not as usual. Get cranberry sugarless juice. Add both hot water and juice 1 cup each. Water should be boiled with ginger, honey and lemon juice mixed. Drink it 6-7 times a day i. E. Before b. F, lunch, dinner, before bed and other times regularly for a month. Maintain negative caloric intake balance. Take max leafy vegetables, have daily walks 30 minutes at least, deep breathing, kapalbhati for few minutes. It will start shedding weight in few weeks. For still rapid results, get our combo of excellent herbs to be added to routine to get safe shedding of fats in short time. Pl consult for further needful, if any.

Do warm saline gurgling 3-4 times daily. Take viscodyne syrup 2 tsf thrice daily. If no relief you have to take antibiotic. do a complete blood examination including ESR and X ray chest. Consult for further advice
