History and diversity of apples is not the only thing to celebrate. Apples also can be credited with delivering an amazing number of health benefits, such as:

1. Fighting bad breath. Apples contain pectin, which helps control food odors. Pectin also promotes saliva, which cleanses breath.

2. Preventing asthma attacks. Asthma sufferers often have low levels of antioxidants. Apples are high in vitamin C and flavonoids (beneficial, water-soluble plant pigments). Both are antioxidant. One study found that vitamin C supplements helped protect against exercise-induced asthma.

3. Reducing the risk of stroke. A study involving 9,208 men and women showed that those who ate the most apples over a 28-year period had the lowest risk for stroke. Researchers concluded that the results suggest the intake of apples is related to a decreased risk of thrombotic stroke.

4. Preventing constipation. Fresh apples are high in fiber, which adds bulk to the stool. Apples contain both soluble and insoluble fiber, or roughage.

5. Combating fatigue. The high vitamin C and antioxidant content in apples counter the free radicals leading to oxidative stress, which has been linked to fatigue.

6. Reducing the risk of diabetes. The phytonutrients (beneficial substances found in various plants) in apples help regulate blood sugar.These compounds help prevent spikes in blood sugar in a variety of ways: by inhibiting enzymes involved in the breakdown of carbohydrates into simple sugars; by stimulating pancreatic cells to produce insulin; by decreasing the absorption of sugars into the bloodstream.

I am a college student and want to go to the gym ,as prescribed by trainers I should take much protein to get my tissues repaired sooner but it is not possible to take that amount of protein a day from natural food. So should I take artificial protein supplements such as that of optimum nutrition or dymatize? I want to ask if they have harmful effects to our body or not? And some food from which I can take 110-120 grams of protein daily?

- use a soft toothbrush -- and brush properly! brush your teeth for at least two minutes twice a day and after meals. Hard brushing can further damage the soft tissues of your mouth. - floss at least once a day and be sure to floss beyond the gum line to remove more plaque. - control bleeding by applying pressure to the area with a cold compress. - rinse with salt water or hydrogen peroxide to keep the area clean. Avoid mouthwashes that contain alcohol, which can dry out your mouth. - stay away from smoking and other tobacco products, which can aggravate bleeding gums. - eat a balanced diet and limit snacking between meals. Carbohydrates and sugars feed dental plaque. - try an oral irrigation device, commonly known as a" water pick, to clear debris from around the gum line. - you may need deep cleaning along with surgical curettage or gum strengthening procedure. Use pepsodent tooth paste & gum paint for 2 to 3 weeks. Advance procedures can be done with laser.

Hello, Have 6-7 meals a day. Increase your intake of carbs, proteins and fats. Never skip breakfast. Have fruit juices, milk smoothies, protein shakes. Eat eggs, meat, chicken, fish, daals, fresh fruits and veggies. Slowly increase your food intake. Boil 4 dates in milk and have it. Sometimes you may have to force yourself to eat. Apart from eating do pranayam and some exercises. For a customized diet chart you can contact me privately.

Haloooo sir. I wanna ask abt some patients suffering from both high and low blood pressure. If they take medicine for high bp and than bp is low. If medicine is taken for low bp. Than bp is high. If bp comes to a very low level than it is advisable to stop medication and eat nutritious home made food with adequate fluid intake and take physical rest and keep a record of bp reading at different time of the day.

For pain take tablet paracetamol 650 mg and For loosemotions drink ors solution and to stop the frequency of motions take capsule roko and Avoid spicy food in your diet and eat only curd rice or khichdi and if necessary we should take prescribed antibiotics

For losing weight, need to modify your diet & lifestyle: 1. Have small frequent meals ayt regular intervals instead of 3-4 large ones 2. Eat slowly chewing each bite well 3. Avoid skipping meals 4. Avoid junk/processed/ready to eat/ fried/sugary/ outside foods, soft & hard drinks, sweets, chocolate, candy, ice cream 5. Replace simple carbs- potato, sugar, honey jaggery, sabudana, cornflour, arrowroot flour, corn, refined grains (maida, noodles, biscuit, cake, white rice, white bread) with complex carbs-whole grains (atta, dalia, suji, millets, jowar, barley, oats, quinoa, brown rice, atta bread), whole legumes (sprouts, soyabean, rajma), whole fruits, vegetables & salads 6. Drink 3 litres water daily 7. Take stairs instead of lift & walk/cycle instead of hiring transport 8. Take 15 mins light walk post meals 9. Brisk walk daily for 60 mins. 10. Avoid lying down within an hr of a meal Tea will not effect pregnancy.

Hi Lybrate user, Simplify your diet for weight control. There is no special diet for any blood group although in the west there are some proponents of Blood Group based diets, but it has no scientific basis. It is just a fad with no impact. To Lose Weight. 1. First decide that you are aiming to be fit for life. There is no short term health plan. 2. Believe that you can achieve it step by step. 3. Don't be in a hurry because nature takes time. 4. Slow and steady wins the race. 5. Take 40-60 mins daily for active fitness routines like Cardio etc. 6. Eat a 1600 cal diet daily. You can find such diets on net. 7. Follow 'Mindful method' of eating. 8. Love yourself and respect your body. 9. Change your habits to change your body. 10. There are no medicines/tea etc to lose weight. These are all myths. 11. Complete power is in your hands to change yourself. Every step makes a difference. So start today.

Lybrate-user your father is having less saliva in his mouth from last six months. There can be many reasons for dry mouth. See dental surgeon for check up and follow advice. Ask him to drink plenty of water. More of fluids and soft diet. Rinse mouth frequently and before going to sleep.

You have to calm mind by meditating before bed time and switch off lights , TV and phone and make up mind to sleep . You can try pills for a week which may regularise sleep and clonazepam is good for this

Hello lybrate-user gelatin has very limited role in rebuilding lost cartilage. It will be helpful in preventing further degeneration however if the knee is really bad you should consider a Total Knee Replacement.

These are the methods to treat fastly acne - • Imbalance in hormone level causes excessive sebum production and causes acne. So do not take stress and do exercise daily such as running, jogging and long breathing exercises. • Do YOGASANA daily. Especially do SINHASANA & SARVANGASANA daily. • Use oil free face wash and drink 7 -8 glass of water daily.• Do not touch your pimple because your finger transfer bacteria to it and make it worse. If you touch it then clean your face with water. * Mix black pepper powder in some water to make paste & apply on the pimples three times a week. • Take cucumber and papaya pulp .Mix it well and add 1 tablespoon Turmeric. Make a paste and apply it on face and leave it for 15 minutes. • Steam your face to open the pores ,which in turn clear the skin .steam your face for a couple of minutes. • Take 2 teaspoon of RAKTASHODAK SYRUP of BAIDYANATH company once a day. This is a hormonal issue. Need to balance your hormones. Please for that don't take any hormonal medicine directly that an allopath will precribe, because that is harmful. Better you consult a homoepath.
