I need to actually understand whether he is having issues with his neck region which is associated with pain radiating from neck to upper limb region or are we talking about shoulder pain with restriction of shoulder movements due to which he is having pain? so I need to know whether his shoulder movements are free especially lifting his arm and rotations? also is there any numbness, paresthesias in the affected limb as well? - does he suffer from any systemic disease like diabetes, thyroid issues, bp etc? do not hesitate to contact me if you need any further assistance. Dear lybrate user, I can imagine, how frustrating it must be for you. You need to find out what is causing this intense anxiety because of which you are unable to sleep, in spite of the fact that you are very tired. If you are deprived of sleep like this, if will be very harmful for you. I suggest, you to speak to a counsellor about your anxiety and depressive thoughts. The counselling process will help you to calm your mind and then you will be refreshed.

  1. Make your bedroom an inviting place. Keep the room free of clutter and distractions. Be sure you have the right bed and mattress for your needs. The wrong mattress can lead to musculoskeletal problems and sleep disturbances.
  2. Use the bed only for sleeping and sex. Avoid use of the bed for watching TV, eating, working, or any other activities. If you do wish to use the bed for a bit of nighttime reading, read only pleasure books in bed.
  3. Therapists often use 'reconditioning' as part of a treatment plan for insomnia. With this method, people are 'reconditioned' to associate the bed with sleep. If you find yourself unable to sleep at all, get out of bed and move to another room, so that you only associate the bed with sleep and not with wakefulness.
  4. Establish a regular sleep-wake cycle. Your body will learn to set its internal clock to your schedule and will eventually respond to internal cues to become sleepy at a given time and to awaken at a given time. A good way to begin this is by getting up at the same time every morning, even on weekends.
  5. Don't nap. No matter how tempting it may be, an afternoon nap can make falling asleep at night even harder. 'Extra' sleep on weekends can also throw off your regular sleep schedule and worsen midweek insomnia.
  6. Limit your consumption of caffeine in the afternoon and evening. Remember that eating chocolates and drinking cocoa and colas also are sources of caffeine.
  7. Watch your alcohol intake. Don't drink any alcoholic beverages in the few hours prior to going to bed. Excessive amounts of alcohol at any time in the day can also disrupt sleep patterns and lead to unsatisfying sleep. Cigarette smoking can also worsen insomnia.
  8. Fit in some exercise during the day, but don't exercise strenuously right before bedtime.
  9. Eat light meals in the evening. Eating heavily in the evening or eating just prior to going to bed can disrupt your sleep.
  10. Establish a 'winding down' ritual in the evenings just prior to bedtime. Try to free your mind of distracting or troublesome thoughts and engage in a relaxing, enjoyable activity like reading, listening to music, or watching a pleasant film.

Pain could be because of bony spurs in the heel. Get x-ray done. And wear heel cushions in the shoes, take ultrasound therapy and contrast bath in physiotherapy. It helps along with foot ankle ex's.

It might be of plantar fascitis do not worry have ust physiotherapy treatment for 10 days of 15 minutes duration along with hot water with rock salt into it for fomentation thrice a day for 7 days of 15 minutes duration followed by normal water fomentation for 5 mins.

My age 34 years. Im a IT Employee who works in nightshirts between 6 PM to 2 am. basically I use to sleep 5.30 Hrs a day and I use to sleep on right side on bed. I want to how to take care of my self to fit more and whats the best practices and whats the best duration of sleeping hours. From morning 10 AM to midnight 3 am I use to ask except 1 hr small nap in mid afternoon. Kindly advise me and God bless you.

Human body needs sleep of 7-8 hrs. For physiological effect of body repair and rest, sleep timing is 10 pm onwards. Afternoon nap is beneficial. Simple ways for a restful sleep 1.Cut down on caffeine: Caffeine drinkers may find it harder to fall asleep. Even a single cup of coffee in the morning may lead to a sleepless night. Caffeine blocks the effects of adenosine, a neurotransmitter thought to promote sleep. Caffeine can also interrupt sleep by increasing the need to urinate during the night. Because caffeine withdrawal can cause headaches, irritability, and extreme fatigue, it may be easier to cut back gradually rather than to go cold turkey. Those who can’t or don’t want to give up caffeine should avoid it after 2 p.m. Or noon if they are especially caffeine–sensitive. 2.Stop smoking or chewing tobacco: Nicotine is a central nervous system stimulant that can cause insomnia. If you continue to use tobacco, avoid smoking or chewing it for at least one to two hours before bedtime. 3.Limit alcohol intake: Alcohol depresses the nervous system, so a nightcap may seem to help some people fall asleep. Alcohol suppresses REM sleep, and the soporific effects disappear after a few hours. Alcohol also worsens snoring and other sleep breathing problems. 4. Worry and stress causes sleeplessness. Find out what hurts you and resolve the issue.

How sleeping less than 6 hours affects your health

After being awake for almost 14-16 hours, our body demands sleep. Minimum sleeping time required for a healthy mind and body is 7-8 hours. Although, this duration varies according to age. Because generally speaking, where a child can sleep for 12-14 hours, grownups can sleep for not more than 9 hours. Sound sleep is very essential otherwise, it can be harmful for our health. Let's see how sleeping for less than 6 hours affects our health.

  1. Headache, weight gain and poor vision: When you sleep for less than 6 hours a day, it can not only give you headache all the time but can lead to a poor vision also. And if continued for a long time, may hamper your eyesight. The lesser you sleep the more weight you gain. And after-effects of gaining weight could be even more hazardous.
  2. Memory loss, heart disease, infection: Sleeplessness can have an adverse effect on one's memory too. A person may find it difficult to remember even simple things. Also, infections can take a longer time to heal because sleep is something that stabilises and balances everything that goes wrong while we are awake. If we don't get proper sleep, the process of healing takes longer. Lack of sleep can also elevate blood pressure which ultimately affects the heart.
  3. Urine overproduction, stammering and accident: Sleeping slows down urinating process but when you are awake for longer hours, you might have to urinate more than usual. Lack of sleep can also make you stammer while speaking. If lack of sleep continues, you may not be able to communicate properly. When you do not have sound sleep, your mental condition would not be stable because of declining concentration. You can be accident prone if you drive in such a condition.

These are just a few of the ill effects. Sleeping for less than 5 hours is far more dangerous than you can even think. From behavioural to mental to physical effects, it can harm you in many more ways, So, have a sound sleep to avoid complications in life.

hello. get relax from or during work. at night forget all stress.avoid it. bath at night before bed. take dinner on time.take salaad in dinner,fiber meal, low fatty/oily foods. green veg.,take low diet at dinner. massage you head and body. it reduced stress of whole day. take 1 glass of water before bed. THESE acitvity may be reduced stress and you can sleep proper way.

I am having severe hand pain. I had done physiotheraphy but was okay till it was over. Then again it started in 1 month. Ayurveda gave me relief for a longer time. Ayurveda said its because of swelling and physiotherapist said muscle cramp. Let me know what to be done. I am from bangalore.

Give pressure the dipping point on the portion between the thumb and the index finger on the back of the palm. Press and release for 15 times where the pain is more. This will solve the problem. Further do some wrist rotation exercise. Consult after 5 days. For further guidance and treatment.

Limit your screen time staring at computers, tvs or phones in the evening before going to bed do eye check-up. Also check if you are having any cervical spondylosis. Take a bath for some days before going to bed and observe if its helpful for you.

It is mainly due to infection (mainly Fungal) in your scalp skin ,as skin of scalp is very little blood supply, so take time to remove infections, it comes in from of dandruff...for control on hair fall u have to control on dandruff and infection ,otherwise most of the times it spread to your face and eyebrows and eyelashes also .it requires proper medicines and care
