Do knee cap tightening by proper synchronization wd breathing inhale & tight your knee cap exhale & relax your knee cap you can feel it by putting your hands on your knee joints. Requires detailed investigation and examination Presently investigations suggested: hb, tlc, dlc, esr, blood sugar fasting & pp, uric acid vit d xray of the affected part. Anyway you may try sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Spring beds, folding beds or thick mattress are harmful use no pillow under the head do hot fomentation. Paracetamol 250mg od & sos x 5days. Caldikind plus 1tab od x10. Do neck back knee & general exercises. It may have to be further investigated. Do not ignore it. Let it not become beginning of a bigger problem. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take. If it does not give relief in 4-5days, inform.

Knee movements can be improved by a key hole surgery (arthroscopic arthrolysis) if he is not benefiting from physiotherapy.

I am 61 years old male retired govt. Servant. I am suffering from leg knee joint pain on both legs for more than 6 years. I am diabetic for past 1 year. Asthmatic for more than 40 years. For the past six months both legs muscles sprain over and below the knee on backside. Due to skin allergy or varicose vein problem I am having wound in the left lower leg not healing for about 4 months. I need advice for knee pain and wound healing.

Hi sir. Hope you are fine. For your asthmatic, consult a pulmonologist, regular practice of pranayama will help you. U may have vitamins deficiency like vit e. U can consult a vascular consultant for varicose. Regular strengthening exercises necessary for your knee. Do ankle toe movements frequently to increase blood circulation to calf muscles. So back pumping will be good.

Quit habits strictly. Seems like you have oral submucous fibrosis (osmf). Kindly consult an oral & maxillo facial surgeon in person for further suggestion. We need more investigations with clinical examination to decide upon treatment. You may need conservative or surgical management for mouth opening depending upon the stage of osmf. Advise full mouth opening, ballooning exercise & side to side movement of the jaw. Wrap 25 to 30 ice-cream sticks, make a bundle, put it between upper & lower front teeth for 15 minutes thrice a day increase 1 sticks each day.

Kindly take BioD3 Max 1 tab dailyx10 Paracetamol 250mg OD & SOS x5days Do back(spine)/shoulder/knee exercises Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take Do not ignore it. Hello, first of all you should know what is backache and by which factors it caused and aggravated. The usual cause of low back pain is the sedentary lifestyle that we lead these days. There is hardly any movement. We remain seated most of the time and stand for very short periods of time. Unfortunately walking, running and cycling like activities are also not a part of our daily routine. To add to it, our diet consists more and more of junk food. Fresh fruits, vegetables and high fibre foods are consumed less and less. These daily practices lead to obesity. The increased body weight puts lot of pressure on the spine which has to bear all the extra unwanted weight. The back muscles which are already weak due to lack of exercise and wrong posture are unable to cope with this increased load. This causes pain in the back muscles. Management for Back Pain:-Along with medicines for relieving pain, one needs to identify the cause and correct it. This may require some medicines or some correction in your posture or reducing weight or improving your lifestyle. At the same time, there is a need to work on the local muscle strengthening. Back muscles need to be strengthened so that they can bear the weight of the upper body. For this exercises of the back muscles are very helpful. Regular walking is also very helpful as it is a wholesome exercise of the body, improves blood circulation and helps lose weight. Most importantly if you are overweight then losing weight is an important part of the whole treatment plan .Long term use of painkillers for low back pain is harmful Treatment for back pain:- Homeopathic medicines are very helpful. They not only treat the acute stages but are also used for the treatment of chronic back pain.Selection of the exact remedy depends upon the individual symptoms of the person.So share the complete symptom picture for the proper treament. Hello, you can follow these advice- 1. Take plenty of luke warm water (8-10 glasses per day). 2. Add some baking soda in the water, it will decrease your uric acid level so that you will get relief in backache spontaneously. 3. Brisk walk in the morning is must. 4. Perform some back strengthening exercises, which i'll explain you in the next session. Till then you have to modify you life style. Wish you a happy life.

Vitamin D deficiency also has calcium deficiency accompanying. Get serum levels tested for both. An x-ray spine or Dexa scan for T score will give more clue whether backache is due to osteoporosis or not, also x-ray will provide whether osteoarthritis is also present. Consult a physician, you may require vitamin d3 and calcium supplements. If you write to me above tests reports, being orthopaedic specialist, I could advise specific medications if needed for osteoporosis or osteoarthritis as the case maybe. Sexual weakness is usually due to physical weakness, deficiency of hormones or undue mental stress. All this can be taken care of by a physician or by me after tests advised. Androgen meds help for both bone mineralization and sexual weakness if any.

Hello lybrate user, leg pain after running is common due to spasm in the leg muscles known as tibialis anterior which functions to pull the foot towards your body during walking, running. When a person runs or exerts an unaccustomed stress there occurs production of lactic acid in the muscle which is quite painful. Relief by: rest ice application stretching exercises will help a lot.

Extension Exercises x 15 times x twice daily - lying on tummy, take left arm up for 3 seconds, then bring it down, right arm up for 3 seconds, bring down. Bring right leg up, hold for 3 seconds, bring it down. Then right leg up and hold for 3 seconds and bring it down. Repeat twice a day- 10 times. Bhujang Asana – Lie flat on your stomach, keeping the palms out, bend the neck backward, take a deep breath and while holding it for 6 seconds, raise the chest up. Release breath and relax your body. Repeat the exercise 15 times twice daily. Core Strengthening Exercises- Straight Leg Raised With Toes Turned Outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Back Stretching- lie flat, pull one of the knee forward to chest, hold for 3 seconds, then bring the other knee forward to the chest and again hold for 3 seconds. Then pull both knees towards the chest and hold for 3 seconds. Repeat 10 times each exercise twice a day.

I have a back pain for 2 days what should I do?

Hi thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from fortis hospital, new delhi. You have mentioned back pain since 2 days. If you have localized back pain with no other symptoms like radiating leg pain, neurological symptoms like numbness, weakness, paresthesias etc, then you can start with following recommendations for initial period of 2-3 weeks: - to maintain proper posture of your back while working and sleeping - if pain is more then you can take a short course of an anti-inflammatory medication like tab etoshine or paracetamol or one which suits you - physical therapy initially under supervision of a trained physiotherapist and then to continue at home - adequate calcium & vitamin d intake if levels are low in body - ice packs can applied 3-4 times in a day for 10-15 minutes at stretch at the site of maximum pain. - analgesic spray for local application can be used and is easily available. - avoid lifting heavyweight/ acute forward bending in mornings etc we will observe you for next 2-3 weeks how you respond to this conservative management protocol. If you are not feeling better, then we will have to get some investigations like, dynamic x rays of lower back and few blood tests for evaluation. Physio and Yoga are mechanical approach to strengthen muscles and relieve the compression on nerves. Ayurveda gives strength to nerves, muscles and are 'Vaatnashak' i.e. corrects vitiation of Vata. Both should be used simultaneously for best results. Avoid pain killers. Proper medicine will be started after knowing Bloid test reports and radiological findings.
