I am suffering from ankylosis spondylitis and today I was having severe pain in my neck just behind the ears. Why is this happening to me. My entire previous generation didn't had this incurable disease. Why me? What did I do wrong? Why am I suffering so much. I used to go to the gym every day but for the past 1 and half years my whole life has been changed just because of this chronic disease. Oh my God what should I do. I can't tolerate this anymore. I have been consuming sazo 1000 for the past 8 months and everything was quite normal (i. E reduced pain) but since I left my medications the pain has started again. Do I need to consume painkillers for my entire life. Am I going to be normal again. I don't know what to do? Is there anyone who can help me. I would really really appreciate it. Thanks.

lybrate-user AS is arthritis where long term inflammation of the joint. The cause of ankylospondylosis is unknown. It is believed to be combination of hereditary and environmental factors. More than 90 % of those affected have specific human leucocyte antigen known as HLA B 27. Homeopathy can cure this case or can palliate the condition to greater extent. It should be treated by experienced homeopath who take details of the case and select proper medicines and give the doses in judicious manner. If you have any difficult, you can ask me through Lybrate.

I am 54 year, last 24 years I am facing an closing spondolitics problem. 24 hour I am feeling sharp pain on my hips joint. Please advice.

Hi thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from fortis hospital, new delhi. Ankylosing spondylitis is a chronic inflammatory joint disease which has a genetic predisposition. It is a spondyloarthropathy mainly affecting spine and hips. There is as such no permanent cure but symptoms can be kept under control by changes in lifestyle making it as active as possible, taking anti-inflammatory medications as required, regular physical therapy etc. Please get x ray pelvis with both hips - ap view so that I can see and advise accordingly. Do not hesitate to contact me if you need any further assistance.

Apply hot fomentation. Piriformis stretch 1. Lie on your back. 2. Cross your left leg over your right so that your left ankle rests on your right knee. 3. Use your hands to grab hold of your left knee and pull it gently toward the opposite shoulder. 4. Hold for 15 to 30 seconds. 5. Relax, and then repeat with the other leg. 6. My mother is suffering from arthirtis for last 7 years. Some doctors have recommended for total knee replacement. Somce have said it should be cured through medicine. Also is it recommeded to do both legs knee replacement together or one at a time.

Knee replacement is a very good option for severe arthritis. No osteo-arthritis is cured with medicines. It can only give temporary relief. Gradually the knee keeps getting worse. Remember that it' s a part of aging. I usually don't do both knee replacements in a single operation. The primary reason is that it takes long time and puts the patient at more risk. Most surgeons nowadays give a gap of 5-7 days between the two operations. The final decision is made by the treating surgeon. If you have any questions regarding knee replacement, you can contact me through private chat.

Hi Ms. Lybrate-user back pain has many causes. But most commonly it is bad posture and lack of exercises. Lucorea indicates pelvic organ infection and can cause back pain. Yoga is good. Get advise regarding proper posture and learn spinal and core strengthening exercises from a physiotherapist. You should visit your gynaecologist and spine specialist if pain persists.
