At 24, get eyes tested and get basic tests for heart like an ecg, halter & lipid profile + blood sugar. No smoking or exposure to pollution and eat heart friendly diet only. 24 is the age to be cautious about heart related problems.

First of all pl leave every medicine for some time. Stop stressful attitude. This is normal. If you abide by me, start taking some gut cleansing herbal choornas once a week at night, start taking nutrients by way of pure milk, ghee, sweets of good quality as per your digestion, fruits, juices etc and start doing little pranayam, walks. Take good diet but not heavy. Chhachh/ buttermilk etc should be used after lunch. Try to abstain. Once you do it for 15 days, you will start winning the race. Ayurveda says that food or'vrushya' medicine taken today ideally converts to'shukra dhatu' on 49 th day provided all functions, metabolism are normal. If previous six dhatus are not nourished, shukra can't be nourished. So when people make haste and demand quick benefit in aphrodisiacs, they do more harm to them. Choice of selection and ratio of different herbs in'vrushya' combos is according to vaidya's assessment of your body nature and present conditions. Vrushya means those increase the quantity and quality of semen'stambhak' herbs are followed later which are capable of delaying ejaculation during sex. When people demand only stambhak medicines, they are again mistaken. Otc products do more harm and not customised individually. Do pl do start afresh after a gap of 15 days. Read good literature, visit good sites but not pornos'anangrang' and kamasutra are classic testimonial on sex.

Hi One of the simplest and most effective ways to induce sleep is to rub some oil on the scalp and the soles of the feet before going to bed. Use sesame oil, brahmi oil, jasmine oil, or coconut oil and massage gently for a few minutes. Slightly warming the oil before applying is helpful. 1-1 drop of cow ghee in both nostrils at night time before sleep. Take sarpgandha vati 1-1 tab twice a day. Take pranacharya no tens capsule 1-1 twice a day. Avoid spicy food. Junk food. Fermented food. Tea.coffee. Do pranayama early in the morning.

She suffering from asthma what is the best medication for her.?

Bachelor of Ayurveda, Medicine and Surgery (BAMS)
Ayurveda,
Ayurvedic medicine is only cure. Take 11 guava leaves, 11 black pepper, 1 cup milk and one cup water. Put all of them in pot and boil it well, when it reduced to one cup, drink in empty stomach. Take this daily for at least six months or a year. Boil cumin seeds in water and inhale the steam. It helps dilate the bronchial passage. Take 5 gm of ginger, black pepper, cardamom, clove, cinnamon, turmeric and 30 gm of sugar. Grind the mix to a powder. Take half to one teaspoonful and mix it nicely with honey. Take it twice a day

I am not getting sleep early if I sleep at late nights it is hard for me to awake! and hard at back head.
Hi, all your issues/ symptoms are because of you not getting sleep early. Your age is indicative of you being mostly a student at present. You may try out the following - (a) have dinner early, max by 8: 30 pm in night (b) streamline your diet & lifestyle. Make sure you have a light yet healthy dinner at night. High calorie foods are best avoided especially at night when the energy requirements are minimal. (c) avoid fatty, oily and greasy foods. (d) try not to study/ work late at night. Plan your day realistically, well and stick to your schedule. For things that you could not accomplish on any particular day, you may as well plan/ prioritize it for the next day as appropriate. Its always in your best interest/ health to get up early and study/ revise/ work with a fresh mind. (e) avoid studying/ watching tv/ movies et al in the night time as it would make your brain alert and you will have difficulty falling asleep. (f) in relation to point (e) above, you may watch some light weight entertainment serials/ music/ bhajans/ spiritual discourses in the evening time that shall help relax & de-stress. Studying some light interesting stories/ books at bedtime also helps lull and fall asleep. (g) do exercise/ walking, yoga/ meditation daily for about 30 to 45 minutes as suitable. You can try out shavasana especially when you go to bed, for 10 minutes. This shall help you relax, control your thought patterns and help fall asleep. (h) immerse your feet in warm water, with a cold towel wrapped around your head, for about 10 - 15 minutes before you go to bed. (i) avoid taking vitamin pills in the night. Instead, take them in day time. (j) a glass of warm milk with a pinch of turmeric at bed time helps too. Hope the above-mentioned helps. Should you still have issues falling asleep, I would advise you to consult a sleep disorder therapist/ somnologist who shall assist you suitably here.

Chronic Pain - Can Underlying Disorders be the Reason Behind it?

MD, MBBS
Pain Management Specialist, Vadodara
Chronic Pain - Can Underlying Disorders be the Reason Behind it?

Persistence of pain even after full healing of an affected area after injury or ailment is known as chronic pain. Chronic pain can also occur due to an undiagnosed underlying condition within the body. Any form of pain which lasts for more than 6 months can be categorized as chronic pain. Chronic pain might be continuous or episodic, excruciating or mild, totally incapacitating or merely inconvenient.

Symptoms of Chronic Pain include:
1. Light to severe pain that keeps occurring from time to time and cannot be relieved easily.
2. Occurrence of pain that can be described as burning, shooting, aching or even, electrical.
3. Constant feelings of discomfort. This includes stiffness, tightness or soreness in the affected area.

Chronic pain usually does not occur alone and is often accompanied by other problems such as:
1. Lack of sleep
2. Fatigue
3. Weakened Immune System
4. Disability
5. Mood Swings that include depression, fear, hopelessness, anxiety, stress, irritability, etc.

Reasons behind it
There are a number of different factors that can cause chronic pain. Some of them are:

  1. Aging: Common conditions associated with normal aging can have an effect on joints and bones, giving rise to chronic pain.
  2. Incorrect treatment and improper healing: Bad diagnosis or incorrect medications or procedures may cause improper healing of injuries as well as damage to nerves leading to chronic pain.
  3. Underlying disorders or diseases: Diseases are also capable of causing chronic pain. Conditions like osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis and fibromyalgia are some well-known diseases that cause chronic pain. However, persistent and chronic pain might occur due to sicknesses like multiple sclerosis, cancer, AIDS, stomach ulcers as well as gallbladder disease.

In most of the cases, the reasons behind chronic pain can be rather complex. Sometimes, even though the chronic pain begins with an illness or an injury, the ongoing pain is capable of developing into a psychological aspect even after the physical issues have been healed, thus making treatment tricky.

Treatment
Chronic pain is usually managed using a combination of physical therapy, medications and exercises, which helps in reducing the pain. Examples of pain relieving medications include ibuprofen and aspirin. Day-to-day activities can be performed only if this pain is adequately controlled. Additional techniques include:

  1. Radiofrequency Ablation (RFA): The target of this technique to address the nerves that are responsible for sending pain signals to the brain. This is achieved by placing the heated tip of a needle in a region which is extremely close to the nerve. The heat renders the nerve incapable of sending the pain signal.
  2. Pain Shots: This is used to deliver medications to the exact site of the pain. Nerve blockers are also used to block signals from reaching the brain.
  3. Alternative approach: These include acupuncture, massages and yoga along with other treatments from alternative medicine.

DNB (ENT), MBBS
Ear-Nose-Throat (ENT) Specialist,
If a wound does not get cured after taking antibiotics and applying antiseptic creams then you must visit a surgeon for wound debridement and healing by secondary intention. Also get your blood sugars (rbs, fbs, ppbs) evaluated as diabetes delays wound healing.
