If symptoms are persistent and related to exertion, consult a physician or a cardiologist. Get rule out cardiac causes if any by doing some test. Panic attack is diagnosis of exclusion if all tests are negative.

How can I treat coronary heart disease naturally and increase blood flow to the heart.

Diploma in Obstetrics & Gynaecology, MBBS

How can I treat coronary heart disease naturally and increase blood flow to the heart.
Heart muscles have lots of blood vessels lying low and they are called collaterals, they open up and start functioning to increase the blood flow to heart in case one or more of the vessels is blocked partially but there are no symptoms of angina/ heart attack. Natural ways are moderate exercise, no smoking, no exposure to pollution, fresh oxygen through plants, less stress and as I can read, you are taking a heart protective medicine called beta blocker, this too relaxes blood vessels of heart to increase blood supply. Continue all of the above but do get checked for blockages.

It is only 10 days after stents ae fitted on you & it is natural to be anxious about what next? do eat the right diet, exercise moderately, reduce stress & no smoking or exposure to pollution. As a rule if 3 blockages or more are detected, bypass surgery is a better choice but with 3 stents too you can lead a normal life if you follow prevention of heart attacks carefully. Do write back after you feel settled with 3 stents.

Is it true that hot / short tempered people are at high risk of getting and having high blood pressure? Or is it just temporary (at the moment that you are angry)? Can you explain the basis of this? What's the best advice to someone who has short temper. How to curb it? Thanks.

It's not 100% to every people affect the bp with hot or short tempers. Due to anger all the veins and arteirs become vitated by the vata dosha. The vata dosha creates many problems like paralysis, bodyache, stress, strain etc. So try to avoid such situations. Do some dhyana it is best thing to get rid from anger. Pranayam.

I feel pain on chest. Because I was a smoker. And I have too much gas problem also. What can I do to get well.

I feel pain on chest. Because I was a smoker. And I have too much gas problem also. What can I do to get well.
Although having gas is common, it can be extremely uncomfortable and embarrassing at times. Gas is eliminated either by burping (belching) or passing it through the rectum (flatulence). Half to two liters is produced normally in adults and may pass up to 14 times a day on an average. But the condition can be really bad for some individuals -one study noted a person who expelled gas 140 times daily, with 70 passages in a period of just four hours. Although every one has gas, but why do some suffer from it more than others? The answer lies either in their biological conditions of their gastro-intestinal tract or in their eating habits. The Gas usually comes from two sources – (a) the air that is swallowed in with food while eating, (b) as a part of normal breakdown of certain undigested foods by harmless bacteria naturally present in the large intestine. Homeopathy can be a great help for those who suffer from this ?too much gas ?problem. Homeopathic medicines Carbo Veg, Lycopodium, China and Nux Vomica lead the homeopathic table in treating this problem. A constitutional homoeopathic treatment will cure you permanently You can easily take an online consultation for further treatment guidance

Reduce salt to minimum. Reduce fats like transfats. Take some good fats like a spoon of desi ghee or butter and a katori of assorted nuts everyday to get protein and good fats. Take medicine but do exercise in moderation. Eat lots of seasonal vegetables and fruits plus eating according to constitution. Take more proteins like milk and curds. If no relief with the group of medicines you are taking your doctor might change the medicines and give you a trial with another group of medicine.

My cholesterol levels are high. 280mg/dl, Triglyceride 213mg/dl, HDL 38, LDL 199.4, VLDL 42.6. Pl suggest. What to do.
cholesterol can usually be lowered by eating less LDL cholesterol-increasing foods and more LDL cholesterol-lowering foods, and by adopting a healthy lifestyle. The most important steps to following a healthy lifestyle are: 1. decreasing the amount of fat in your diet 2. paying special attention to the quality of fat that you eat 3. maintaining a healthy weight 4. quitting smoking 5. getting adequate exercise 6. reducing stress. All of these factors, taken together, can dramatically decrease your risk of heart disease and stroke by lowering your LDL cholesterol level and your blood pressure, and raising your HDL cholesterol.  Foods to avoid  Limit saturated fats and oils, such as butter, palm oil, and coconut oil. Instead, use soft vegetable oils, such as olive or canola oil.  Avoid trans fats or partially hydrogenated vegetable oils. These oils go through a process that makes them solid. They're found in some hard margarines, snack crackers, cookies, and chips.  Limit fatty meats such as corned beef, , ribs, steak, ground meat, hot dogs, sausage, bacon, and processed meats . Also limit organ meats like liver and kidney. Replace with skinless chicken or turkey, lean beef, pork, lamb, and fish. Try some meatless main dishes, like beans, peas, pasta, or rice.  Limit meat, poultry, and fish to no more than two servings, or 140 g, a day. Remember that a serving is about the size of a deck of playing cards.  Limit egg yolks.  Limit milk products that contain more than 1% milk fat. This includes cream, most cheeses, and nondairy coffee creamers or whipped topping (which often contain coconut or palm oils). Instead try fat-free or low-fat milk (0% to 1% fat) and low-fat cheeses.  Limit snack crackers, muffins, quick breads, croissants, and cakes made with saturated or hydrogenated fat, whole eggs, or whole milk. Try low-fat baked goods, and use any spreads or toppings lightly.  Instead of using butter or margarine on bread, try dipping it in olive oil.  Avoid fast foods like hamburgers, fries, fried chicken, and tacos. They are high in both total fat and saturated fat. When you eat out, choose broiled sandwiches or chicken without skin, salads with low-fat dressing, and foods that aren't fried. Ask the server to leave off the cheese and high-fat dressings like mayonnaise. Foods that decreasse CHOLESTROL 1. Oatmeal, oat bran and high-fiber foods Oatmeal contains soluble fiber, which reduces your low-density lipoprotein (LDL), the "bad," cholesterol. Soluble fiber is also found in such foods as kidney beans, apples, pears, barley and prunes.Soluble fiber can reduce the absorption of cholesterol into your bloodstream. Five to 10 grams or more of soluble fiber a day decreases your total and LDL cholesterol. Eating 1 1/2 cups of cooked oatmeal provides 6 grams of fiber. If you add fruit, such as bananas, you'll add about 4 more grams of fiber. To mix it up a little, try steel-cut oatmeal or cold cereal made with oatmeal or oat bran. 2. Fish and omega-3 fatty acids Eating fatty fish can be heart healthy because of its high levels of omega-3 fatty acids, which can reduce your blood pressure and risk of developing blood clots. In people who have already had heart attacks, fish oil — or omega-3 fatty acids — reduces the risk of sudden death. I recommend eating at least two servings of fish a week. The highest levels of omega-3 fatty acids are in: • Mackerel • Lake trout • Herring • Sardines • Albacore tuna • Salmon • Halibut You should bake or grill the fish to avoid adding unhealthy fats. If you don't like fish, you can also get small amounts of omega-3 fatty acids from foods like ground flaxseed or canola oil. You can take an omega-3 or fish oil supplement to get some of the benefits, but you won't get other nutrients in fish, such as selenium. If you decide to take a supplement, just remember to watch your diet and eat lean meat or vegetables in place of fish. 3. Walnuts, almonds and other nuts Walnuts, almonds and other nuts can reduce blood cholesterol. Rich in polyunsaturated fatty acids, walnuts also help keep blood vessels healthy. Eating about a handful (1.5 ounces, or 42.5 grams) a day of most nuts, such as almonds, hazelnuts, peanuts, pecans, some pine nuts, pistachio nuts and walnuts, may reduce your risk of heart disease. Just make sure the nuts you eat aren't salted or coated with sugar. All nuts are high in calories, so a handful will do. To avoid eating too many nuts and gaining weight, replace foods high in saturated fat with nuts. For example, instead of using cheese, meat or croutons in your salad, add a handful of walnuts or almonds. Homoeopathic medicine ALLIUM SATIVA Q ( Dr Reckeweg) Drink 10 drop in 20 ml freh water twice daily CHOLESTRINUM 3X ( Dr Reckeweg) Chew 2 tabs twice daily Report after 3months with latest blood reports of your lipid profile.

Hi, Welcome. First I want to know whether you have associated heart disease or diabetes. If no than you are taking very high dose. I'll recommend decreasing the dose to 5 mg once daily. If you have any heart disease, than this dose is fine. Thanks.

No. It was not your fault. It is correct that you suggested for her to be taken to the hospital for professional help. The symptoms you have mentioned is typical for Heart Attack that women suffer. These are different from symptoms men have sometimes. Even if you would have given your father-in-laws BP medication, it would not have been enough to revive your mother-in -law. For your own sake, take your father-in -law to a good doctor and understand how women suffer from heart attacks. Nothing is sudden. Her condition must have been building up for many years together. It will be better as, if another such person suffers symptoms, you and your family will be in a better position to help the patient.
