6 months back in Sept'14 my father was admitted in an emergency after he complained of acute pain in the abdomen and back coupled with vomiting. He was diagnosed with acute necrotizing pancreatitis. The doctor placed a stent via ERCP procedure in the CBD which was removed after he was discharged from the hospital once all his vitals were normal, including TLC, amylase, lipase, etc. My father is a non alcoholic, doesn't have diabetes or blood pressure issue. He had gall stones which was removed in June'13. Ever since the stent removal procedure my father has persistent fever and there are durations of a week or so when it touches 103, 104. He is also taking homeopathy which helps in keeping the fever under control. In a recent CT scan he was told that a pseudocyst has been formed and it needs to be removed. I want to ask why my father has fever all the time and if the pseudocyst has to be removed what is the best way of doing that, a surgery or via endoscopy? What are the risks involved in both procedures and will he ever recover completely. Thank you!

Management Most pseudo cysts resolve without interference and only require supportive care. For some, drainage is indicated. Indications for drainage include the following: Complications Symptoms Concern about possible malignancy Drainage options are as follows: Percutaneous catheter drainage ? The procedure of choice for infected pseudo cysts; although recurrence and failure rates are high, Endoscopic drainage, either trans papillary (via ERCP) or trans mural ? and finally Surgical drainage ? The criterion standard; internal drainage is the procedure of choice, but laparoscopic drainage is better. Warning:This is my personal view, please take the advice of a good gastroenterologist before you proceed, further. No medications are specific to the treatment of pancreatic pseudocysts. Antibiotics and octreotide may be useful adjuncts in some cases.

The first dose of plan b (levonorgestrel emergency contraceptive) must be taken as soon as possible after unprotected sex (no later than 72 hours afterward). The second dose must be taken 12 hours after the first dose. The timing of these doses is very important for this medication to be effective. Call your doctor right away if you vomit within 1 hour after taking either dose of plan b. Do not take another dose until you talk with your doctor.

Mri scan can help in headache problems to find out serious causes of headache like tumor or infection. There is no harm in getting mri scan done. Migraine diagnosis is made on detailed history about headache pattern and response to preventive treatment. Since details of your headache character is not mentioned a diagnosis cannot be made. Migraine headache is characterised by unilateral pulsating headache associated with nause/vomiting and photophobia / phonophobia. There are triggers for migraine like sun exposure, certain foods or smell, lack of sleep, excess caffeine etc. The triggers are variable for different patients. Migraine attacks can be managed by simple painkillers like paracetamol but in resistant cases drugs like sumatriptan may be needed. Follow these lifestyle changes to avoid migraine headache 1. Maintain regular sleep wake cycle, even on holiday's. 2. Don't skip meals. Take regular healthy diet with adequate fluids 3. Do not consume excess caffeine / carbohydrates / alcohol or smoke. 4. Exercise daily (aerobics and cardiovascular) 5. Identify your headache trigger and try to avoid it. 6. Do pranayam daily. You can consult a pain specialist for therapies like dry needling or botulinum injections for your problem. Consult again for further queries.

Psoriasis is manageable, the traditional approach is to start with the mildest treatments topical creams and ultraviolet light therapy (phototherapy) and then progress to stronger ones only if necessary. The goal is to find the most effective way to slow cell turnover with the fewest possible side effects coupled with a dietary therapy specially designed to manage psoriasis. Do reply back for private consultation for a detailed treatment plan including dietary therapy.

Most likely it's hypospadias. Don't get afraid after listening to this name- it's just a defect from the birth- nothing much serious if you have normal erection and can pass urine normally. Last week, one of my patient with hypospadias fathered his own baby. So, just avoid embarrassement and get it checked. In fact you should have checked it earlier at childhood. But it's not too late. We need to check it and then decide whether you need any treatment or not.

Follow these simple steps to ensure a good sleep every night and stay away from sleep disorders and other health problems associated with unhealthy sleep habits: 1) maintain a regular sleep routine go to bed at the same time. Wake up at the same time. Ideally, your schedule will remain the same (+/- 20 minutes) every night of the week. A good sleep hygiene routine promotes healthy sleep and daytime alertness. 2) avoid sleeping during the daytime. It can disturb the normal pattern. 3) avoid caffeine, nicotine, and alcohol near bedtime. While alcohol may speed the onset of sleep, it creates problems in he second half of sleep. 4) exercise can promote good sleep. Exercise should be taken in the morning or late afternoon. Yoga, can be done before bed to help. 5) have a quiet, comfortable bedroom. Set your bedroom thermostat at a comfortable temperature. Generally, a little cooler is better than a little warmer. Turn off the tv and other extraneous noise that may disrupt sleep. Background'white noise' like a fan is ok. If your pets awaken you, keep them outside the bedroom. Your bedroom should be dark. Turn off bright lights. Have a comfortable mattress. 6) avoid heavy meals close to bedtime. 7) ensure adequate exposure to natural light. 8) avoid emotionally upsetting conversations and activities before trying to go to sleep. Do not think of, or bring your problems to bed. 9) stop using all your digital devices and stop looking at digital screens be it mobile phones or televisions at least 1 hour before the time you plan to sleep. Instead try reading a fiction book near bedtime so it makes you help relaxed and de-stressed. Sleep well live healthy and live longer.

I am suffering from over masturbation can redeem any solution to control it whether it is injuries to health.
If you want to stop masturbating do not look at porn & get your mind off of it. If you still get the urge to, ignore it for a about 15 minutes & it'll go away. Masturbating from time to time is completely normal for a guy. Relax and try to concentrate on your studies and/or sports that you are good at. That will help you to avoiding thinking about sex all the time.
