My daughter aged 14 years is type 1 diabetic diagnosed recently. She is taking insulin injections 3 to 4 times a day. Her hands and thighs are all full of injections pricks. Swelling has started now on the places where we try to give injections. Kindly suggest.

MD - Paediatrics, MBBS
Pediatrician, Tumkur
You can give insulin injection on the abdomen. You have to rotate the site of injection to avoid swelling. Suppose you give today on left top, tomorrow right top, then right down & so on.

Hello, I don't believe in the concept of walkers, that can hamper babays gait and bone formation.Let baby achieve his milestone naturally, just like you and me did.

There should be no side effects. Generally the expiry date is much longer than what's mentioned. If there is expiry then efficacy may decrease but there should be no side effects.

What is the need of vaccination for small baby's Is it compulsory to give polio vaccination.

What is the need of vaccination for small baby's Is it compulsory to give polio vaccination.
Polio vaccine is a must. We are going to be free from this crippling disease due to vaccine. In few years we will not be required to give oral polio vaccine. Now injectable polio vaccine is need of hour. You should take your baby to nearest health centre /pediatrician for regular vaccines. Vaccination helps in checking of infection in community.

Most likely your daughter has allergic cough or frequent recurrent viral respiratory infections. I hope your daughter is not still bottle feeding, esp. At bedtime as this could be the reason for frequent cough. Cakes biscuits chips and chocolates are generally very high sugary foods and not recommended for daily consumption.
