Is tender mango leafs and some kind of wood available in maker useful in treatment of diabetes? Present level is 246....
Thanks for the query. Blood glucose level of 246 mg (fasting or PP not mentioned), is very high. It shows there is confirmed diabetes. This needs to be treated with appropriate drugs. So called other remedies do not help in controlling high blood glucose. Along with proper drugs, restricted diet and regular exercise are also equally impportant in achieving good blood glucose control. Ideally when in control Fasting glucose should be < 100 mg, PP 150 to 160 mg & HbA1c% <6.8. It is absolutely essential to achieve good control. Otherwise you are inviting serious long term complications of diabetes affecting all the vital organ systems in the body. As regards the diet you should avoid sweets, deep fried foods, junk foods, pastries, bakery items and food made of maida. Plus avoid colas and alcohol. Increase the intake of green leafy vegetables, fruits and salads. Always use whole grain flour for roti and chapati. Total caloric intake has to be based on your ideal body weight (52 kgs). Thanks.

I am 58 years old. I have pain in my knees whenever I climb a slope or staitrs. My blood uric acid count is 9. 0. How do I bring down my uric acid ?

BPTh/BPT, MSc Yoga, MD - Acupuncture
Physiotherapist, Chennai
Hi, I would recommend you to take 2 litres of water /day to bring down your uric acid level. For your knee pain is concerned, I would recommend you to visit nearby physiotherapy centre to take pain relieving modalities, and once your pain subsides start doing strengthening exercises. Its better to continue exercises regularly through out your life for being healthy. If you are obese, try to reduce weight gradually. Dont try to go for any supplements to reduce weight. Check your uric acid level and creatine levels next month to avoid complications of kidney. Regards rekha srinath

Since it is a hormonal imbalance problem, the best approach would be to go for regular health check up with your doctor and take the appropriate treatment. It does get better with the regular treatment / by following healthy lifestyle. The doctor is the right person to change or stop the medicines based on the reports and clinical examination. You can also try Homeopathy as it is safe and gentle and tries to improve the immunty. It can also be taken with other medicines without any fear of side-effects. You can contact me for a detailed consultation if interested.

Mr. Lybrate-user, once diabetes is confirmed, there is no other option but to take treatment with anti-diabetes drugs. In addition diet and exercise weight control are helpful too only when a person has pre - diabetes then exercise, weight control and diet can help in postponing or preventing development of diabetes.
