"Bipolar disorder" can be vanished totally or not? I am taking medicine from very long period of time.

"Bipolar disorder" can be vanished totally or not? I am taking medicine from very long period of time.
Yes, you can come out of this condition. It can be a crippling disease if not treated and if treated early the prognosis is good. You must comply with all the medical prescriptions and work in tandem with a counselor for a long time and learn coping skills and techniques to handle the daily challenges you will face. There are certain adaptations that will suit you during the elation phase and there are certain behaviors that are required during the depressed phases. In the meantime you can do certain things that will give you benefits anyway. Emotional therapy will alleviate a lot of the problems faced in this condition because it is a mood disorder. You need to particularly look at your levels of anger both for its reasonableness and to express it in appropriate manner. I suspect that much of this anger may have origins in early childhood that you may never be aware of now. Talk to your parents and explore that angle. This information will help the counselor too. Also you will need to check whether there is any genetic factor involved. You must exercise regularly, eat healthily and sleep normally too. If your motivation and cooperation is good much can be achieved. You must have a time-structured schedule filled with interesting and reasonable activities and it must be monitored for compliance and delivery. The reason I say this is that many times you will be inclined to have grandiose notions and confidently believe that you can do without the medication. This will set you back many months in the treatment and delay and sabotage the recovery: forewarned you are forearmed. If this combination of medication with therapy is maintained for at least three years without any episodes or breakdowns, it is possible to taper the medication in consonance with the doctor. Bipolar is characterized by two extreme poles i.e. feeling very high (mania) and suddenly feeling very low (depression). You can ask the doctor for the symptoms he noticed in you for a personal understanding.

Hi my name is vamsi I just want to quit smoking on my own but its not happening. And if I do not smoke for 2 hours my body starts reacting with anger. Any tip to avoid that feeling?

DHMS (Diploma in Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery)
Homeopath, Hyderabad
Think of a boyfriend or a girlfriend meeting you; wishing to have fun with you. The offensive tobacco smell from your mouth will turn them away. They will be averse to talk to you as they can't bear the smell and passive smoking. Your face will become dull, wrinkled and sickly apart from your suffering many life threatening diseases at a later age. Homoeopathy has a treatment for this, which acts internally without adverse effects. 1. Homoeopathic medicine help in causing dislike and aversion towards tobacco. 2. If a person stops smoking, he may experience some discomforts which can be termed as'withdrawal symptoms' because of these symptoms, the person may revert back to smoking. Homoeo medicines help in overcoming such problems. 3. Homoeopathic medicines do not cause adverse effects. 4. Homoeopathic medicines are not addictive like some other medicines and drugs take arsenic alb 200---once daily in the morning.

All About Hypochondriasis

MBBS, MD - Internal Medicine, Post Graduate Program in Diabetology

All About Hypochondriasis

People who are constantly troubled by the fear of physical illness or who excessively feel worried about their health are commonly referred to as hypochondriacs. This phenomenon is called somatic symptom disorder, also known as hypochondria or hypochondriasis. Despite the evidence of medical tests proving that they do not suffer from any disease or illness, hypochondriacs are perpetually worried about their health. This is mainly because of their misinterpretation of minor health problems or normal body functions as something serious. Somatic symptom disorder affects both males and females equally, and it usually happens during early adulthood.

Causes and symptoms: Their complaints may range from minor issues like pain or stress to more serious problems concerning breathing or headaches. Hypochondriacs rarely try to deceive themselves, and they genuinely believe that they have health problems, however unrealistic their beliefs might be. The exact causes are indefinite and unknown, but they generally arise from considerable physical or sexual abuse in their early childhood. Moreover, parents or close relatives suffering from the disorder may also induce such fears into the child, who would eventually behave in a similar pattern later in adulthood.

Diagnosis: Diagnosis of the disorder can be very troublesome, mainly because of their inherent conviction that they are suffering from physical illness. However, the disorder can be treated through proper supportive care or psychotherapy. Antidepressants and anti-anxiety drugs are also used sometimes.

Dealing with the disorder: Hypochondria can often lead to a chronic condition, which can be long lasting. Although there are no definite ways of preventing it, there is one method to reduce the intensity of the symptoms and help patients cope up with the disorder. It is by providing them a supportive and understanding environment, one in which they can fight the distress and trouble that comes along with the somatic symptom disorder.

Dear, I don't see the risk of amnesia in you at this age. Have you met with any accident or trauma? are you diagnosed with anxiety disorder or depression? busy and anxious people do forget many things, that does not mean they have amnesia. Therefore, usually, busy people keep everything in writing or appoint a personal assistant to help them out. Stress is also another factor behind forgetting. People also forget things which they feel unimportant. Therefore, I think, you do not have anything to worry. Still, if you insist, I can run a series of memory related tests to assess your memory. First screening test will be through mobile. Let me know if you are willing. Take care.

I have headache. So please give some suggestion for this
And also give some for body pain.
Are you having mild fever ? For headache -- Ginger can help reduce inflammation of the blood vessels in the head, thus providing relief from a headache. Mix equal parts of ginger juice and lemon juice. Consume it once or twice a day. Another option is to apply a paste of one teaspoon of dry ginger powder, also called sonth, and two tablespoons of water on the forehead for a few minutes.

How to improve our concentration power and thinking abilities? And what are the diet helpful for our brain.

BASM, MD, MS (Counseling & Psychotherapy), MSc - Psychology, Certificate in Clinical psychology of children and Young People, Certificate in Psychological First Aid, Certificate in Positive Psychology
Psychologist, Palakkad
Dear lybrate-user, welcome to lybrate. Memory and mind power depends mainly on three aspects. Understanding, storage and recollection. To understand what you are studying, you must be able to be attentive or concentrate. Concentration is possible when you are interested in that subject. Creative way of learning can help you concentrate and understand easily. When you are able to understand and concentrate, it is stored within your brain. If you read more and more it will be store in long term memory. Third part is retrieval. Whenever you want to retrive what you learned and stored, your brain gets the request, searches the database and retrieves the information for you. The retrieval may prove to be difficult if you are anxious, stressed, worried or tired physically or mentally. Retrieval is more easy when you are relaxed and healthy. Brain needs nutrients to keep itself sharp. Fruits, vegetables and dry fruits provide much needed nutrients for your brain. Include at least one fruit in your daily diet. Physical exercises, entertainment, hobbies, relaxation, memory games like sudoku etc help keep your memory sharp and active. You may consult a psychologist online or in person for advice, counseling and therapy. Take care.

It is natural to have poor self esteem when one is not earning. But remember, this is a temporary phase. It will go away. A lot of people have been through this phase at some point in their lives. You are currently in a testing time of your life. Dont evaluate your worth based on this situation. That will be a biased and negative view. You need to work on what options you have and be patient. You will soon get your job. If your distress continues, see an expert in person. Take care!

My father who is a medical doctor by profession, 51 year old, has done Master's in surgery from amu aligarh, has gone through several ups and downs in life, he worked as CMO in the medical college, later on MO in government hospital, have a family history regarding separation of my parent in 2003 (we are 3 brothers and one youngest sister), he continued to work and be in social life for the next 4-5 years, later on, slowly lacked interest in work and managing between people in workplace and even with friends, and finally left working in 2009 and from then, he is not able to work efficiently or manage a good relation with any one, he was somewhat suspicion in nature, now he became more suspicion. He did not contacted us sometimes for a year and later on we got him by searching somewhere, also, his brother's (my uncle and grandpa family) completely denied him and did not supported at any time and all the family issues were because of them as usually happens in any family. Now the condition is he don't go outside of home for long times, which is really not good for him, he suddenly gets suspicion over anyone, specially when it comes to job and work and most of the time in normal tone. He believe that there is chain of things going against him from his college to anywhere where he wants to work and not letting him do anything. When I say to go outside to even market, he is not interested, it's for the last several years, I did not find a good source to get any information on this, now please guide me to get him and our family a better life. This condition led to severe financial instability, we faced for last 5 years, and now I am working in a bpo to make things better. I searched on the net about this getting to the point the it might be schizophrenia? Something. I'll be really thankful to you.

I understand your feelings. But you must be patient. On your part, you have been experiencing pains of parental seperation and lack/ loss of financial support from your father at this tender age. It s really a high-stress time. Your father's abnormal behavioral symptoms are somewhat overlapping. I mean, many psychotic conditions like schizophrenia, paranoid schizophrenia, progressive dementia-alzhiemers disease, dissociative disorder etc. Manifest through the same symptoms. Moreover, mood disorders like depression may aggravate the problem. Your father has to be properly evaluated/diagnosed by a psychiatrist and treated accordingly. Probably, the family members have to be equiped to manage to lead a better life by recieving family therapy by the concerned professioals since these kind of diseases are generally not curable but can only be better managed.

I lost somebody since there I feel very depressed and tension what are the symptoms.
Dear Lybrate user, you are under going Grief, which is a natural response to loss-Losing someone or something you love or care deeply about is very painful. You may experience all kinds of difficult emotions and it may feel like the pain and sadness you're experiencing will never let up. Most important factor in healing from loss is having the support of other people. Even if you aren’t comfortable talking about your feelings under normal circumstances, it’s important to express them when you’re grieving. Sharing your loss makes the burden of grief easier to carry. Wherever the support comes from, accept it and do not grieve alone. Connecting to others will help you heal. Turn to friends and family members /Draw comfort from your faith /Join a support group/Talk to a therapist or a counselor. Good luck.

What can I do to control my anger?

Masters in Clinical Psychology
Psychologist, Lucknow
What can I do to control my anger?

  •     Recognise the warning signs. Some days we are just on edge, and that's ok. But try to work on becoming a calmer person and try some things to help you chill.
  •     Annihilate tension with exercise. It's much harder to be angry when you're tired from a run, and any exercise will help reduce stress.
  •     Detox the brain. Alcohol, cigarettes and drugs can make us more edgy. Also ensure you're getting enough sleep.
  •     If you feel the anger boiling up, force yourself to breathe, count to 10 and smile.
  •     Do the things that make you happy. Dancing, art, reading, walking, or just jumping around to your favourite song may help!
  •     Seek help from professional to learn more strategies to control your anger

Nonsense, there is no connection between nightfall and garlic. Garlic is good for you. Nocturnal emissions are absolutely normal anyway and it is a discharge of excess semen and is a natural process. At this age, there will be more of this activity and is absolutely normal.

Why did you go for a medical abortion again if the first if the first one had failed. You should have gone for a d and c. My advise to you is that go for an ultrasound pelvis. If it shows products of conception present, get them removed asap.
