Hi Diabetic are increasing due to many reasons. 1. Lifestyle is very bad - lot of junk foods, fast foods, sedentary lifestyle. 2. Many are not aware about pre diabetes which if detected early Diabetes can be prevented. 3. Not getting regular health checks done to screen for diabetes so that early detection can prevent diabetic complications. 4. When there is strong family history, lifestyle change has to be done early. EXERCISE: Daily brisk walking for 30min atleast 5 days a week, 3-5 Suryanamaskar a day, Breathing (pranayam)exercise for 15 min, Meditation for 10 min.

Mr. Lybrate-user, I am surprised to know that" sometime you don't get one medicine at shops for months" that too in a city like nagpur. Getting fed up with treatment is not going to help as this is a treatment for lifetime. There is no other option. Unfortunately only appropriate drugs are in the allopathic or modern medicine. Now it is your choice whether to continue or change over to some other practice. All over the world these are the medicnes for diabetes.

Sir what is the possible solution and the precautions for diabetes. Pls also tell the diet to prevent from diabetes.
The effectiveness of Ayurvedic medicine in treating diabetes is well documented. The efficacy of herbs widely recommended in Ayurvedic texts for normalizing the blood sugar level has been validated in several clinical trials. In Ayurveda, diabetes mellitus is known as Madhu meha. Owing to the adverse effect of high blood sugar on nearly every vital organ of the body, diabetes is referred to as ?maharoga? or the major disease in Ayurveda.Ayurvedic medicine for diabetes contain herbs that help to lower the blood sugar level by regulating metabolism of carbohydrates, regulating sugar absorption, stimulating insulin secretion and improving sensitivity to the hormone insulin. Gymnema Sylvestre (Gurmar) Gymnema sylvestre is an effective hypoglycemic component in Ayurvedic medicines for diabetes. The common name of the herb is Gurmar, which means the sugar crusher. The efficacy of Gymnema sylvestre leaves in reducing the blood sugar level has been demonstrated in experimental and clinical studies. Treatment with the herb helps to lower the fasting blood sugar level. By assisting regeneration of the residual pancreatic beta cells, it reduces dependence on insulin medications. Coccinia Indica Coccinia indica is a powerful anti-diabetic agent. By regulating breakdown of starch, it helps to prevent sudden surge of blood sugar after consuming carbohydrates. It could also protect the vital organs from the adverse effect of high blood sugar level.

Usually the diabetes has more of a insulin resistance than actual insulin deficiency. But if you are requiring insulin that means their may be additional pancreatic failure. Stress factors can also increase sugar level, obesity, irregular lifestyle and some medicine. But you can also see that your sugar levels are still not controlled. So here again insulin resistance has to be worked out. In our practice we have seen this kind of problems responding very quickly if you start homoeopathic medicines in addition to your existing medication. Have you understand why you have got such cardiac pathology. Is their any family history, if not then their must be some gross errors in lifestyle like smoking, alcohol, stress or failure to cope up with normal stress. So we can give you a complete regime for cardiac arrest which include diet, lifestyle and yoga. In homoeopathy we give constitutional medications which controls a persons blood pressure in a better way by working on psycho-neuro-endocrinal axis, along with holistic approach in terms of lifestyle modification, yoga and meditation.

C.S.C, D.C.H, M.B.B.S
General Physician,
4 simple ways to manage diabetic peripheral neuropathy (dpn)

You're probably familiar with diabetic peripheral neuropathy (dpn), which is nerve damage that?s caused by chronic high blood sugar. Dpn tends to be the most common complication of diabetes. Some of its symptoms include a tingling or burning sensation, difficulty walking, and numbness, especially in your feet and toes. If left untreated, dpn can eventually lead to amputation.
while dpn seems to be a growing problem within the african-american community, here are four ways to keep your dpn under control.

1. Don?t smoke.
ever notice how ?don?t smoke? is always somewhere on these types of lists? well, there?s a good reason for it. When you smoke, your arteries narrow and harden, reducing the amount of blood flow to your legs and feet, which makes it more difficult for wounds to heal.
2. Keep your blood sugar levels in check.
if you?re a diabetic, then you already know how important it is to monitor your blood sugar levels. When you have dpn, inconsistent blood sugar levels put you at risk for nerve damage, which can ultimately lead to amputation.
3. Take good care of your feet.
when you have dpn, it?s a definite must that you thoroughly wash and dry your feet on a daily basis. Also, always make sure that your shoes are well-fitted and that your socks are clean and dry. Be sure to trim your toenails straight across ? or have them trimmed by a professional. Lastly, stay away from any antiseptic products and sharp tools, including nail files, as they may cause injury and further damage.
4. Communicate with your doctor.
inspect your feet regularly. If you notice anything unusual, such as a foot injury that?s taking longer to heal than normal, inform your doctor right away! ask me privately here

Mr. Lybrate-user, primarily diabetes should be in control. Meaning fasting closer to 100mg, pp 150 to 160 mg and hba1c% <7 (ideally 6.8%). These things are necessary to have absolutely healthy life. Your ideal body weight should be 60 kgs, with a bmi of 35.71 you are having grade 2 obesity. So it necessary for you to consider weight reduction at least 5 to 8 % of present weight. That it self will improve overall condition.

Mr. lybrate-user, Following are criteria for diagnosing diabetes: 1) Normal: Fasting:70 to 110 mg/ 100 ml, PP <140 mg & HbA1c% <5.9 2) Pre-diabetes: FBS :108 to 125 mg, PP 141 to 199 mg, HbA1c% 5.9 to 6.4. 3) Diabetes: FBS 126 mg and above, PP 200 mg and above & HbA1c% 6.5 and above. A person with normal glucose level is fine. Nothing needs to be done. In pre-diabetes one can prevent it going over to diabetes by adapting a modified lifestyle- namely regular exercise over 1 hour a day, maintaining normal body weight (BMI <23 kgs/M2) and following healthy habits. No drugs are needed, one can prevent diabetes or postpone it. However, once diabetes is diagnosed (as in your case), there no option but to take drugs to control it. Healthy lifestyle helps in achieving better control along with drugs. Ideally one should maintain FBS below 100 mg, PP 150 to 160 mg & HbA1c% <6.8. Your blood glucose levels are way beyond the normal limit, if not controlled promptly, there is a possibility of developing long term complications associated with diabetes. So please initiate immediate treatment with appropriate drugs. Thanks.
