Bleeding in my gums last two month what should I do for this problem Is this piria?

MDS - Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery
Dentist, Chennai
We need more investigations with clinical examination to decide upon treatment. You may need deep cleaning along with surgical, gum strengthening procedure. Rinse your mouth thoroughly with a mouth wash after every meals. Use pepsodent tooth paste & gum paint for 2 to 3 weeks. Advance procedures can be done with laser. Dental tips: - visit a dentist every six months for cleaning and a thorough dental check-up. Limit sugary food to avoid tooth decay. Gargle your mouth thoroughly after every meal. Scrub gently to clean your tongue with a tongue cleaner. Floss all your teeth inter dentally & brush twice daily, morning & night, up & down short vertical strokes, with ultra-soft bristles, indicator brush. Tooth brush to be changed every 2 months.

Hello sir, A bad smell comes from my mouth what can I do? I does not smoke & drink also. Please help me to get rid of this.

Advanced Aesthetics, BDS
Dentist, Mumbai
Hi, there are various reasons of bad breath, like impurities in blood, inefficient digestive system, dry mouth (lack of saliva production), gum disease, cavities, plaque and tartar formation around teeth and gums, kind of diet, improper brushing / cleaning of mouth etc. I would advise you to get a thorough physical and dental examination to rule out the cause of bad breath and to solve it permanently.

My teeth's turn black if I don't paste for few days please suggest something that can help me out.

MDS - Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery

All individuals requires scaling (cleaning) to be done atleast once in 6 months to maintain our oral hygiene clean. Our toothbrush is not much finely designed to clean all the plaque and calculi in the interdental areas of the teeth, which is the area where most of the calculus accumulate much and has to be removed regularly using scalers by the dentist.

I have a dental issue, my gums have descended and have disappeared from my front teeth. There is space between my teeth, the roots are visible and they have yellowish hard layer inside. It is a big concern, kindly suggest.

MDS - Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery
Dentist, Chennai
Deeper cleaning called as scaling and root planning is frequently the solution when your gum recession is caused by periodontitis. Depending on the cause of your gum recession, you may have to have surgical treatment. This procedure will be done by your periodontist and is called a gum graft. Pls do visit a dentist.

I have manoclusion class 2 division 2 in my teeth. My upper teeth is aligned forward while lower teeth are back so that there is gap between two. So I want to ask is it necessary to solve this issue (I don't feel any problem though but while I sleep I force my lower jaw to come forward so that my jaw looks rectangle). If yes what is the solution of this? Please help.

MDS - Orthodontics
Dentist, Faridabad
The malocclusion you are having is Class I Division 1, in which there is increased gap between upper and lower front teeth. Orthodontic/ Braces treatment is required to resolve this problem which may require 2-4 teeth removal. It will improve the functioning of the teeth and appearance of the face.

Everytime when I get fever, I am getting rashes on my mouth. 2 days back I got fever and now the same situation. How can I overcome this?

MDS - Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery

If the mouth ulcer is causing a lot of pain, gently rub a small ice cube over the spot or rinse your mouth with ice-cold water. You could also chew on a clove bud (lavang) and direct the juice generated to the area where the ulcer is located. Clove buds are a great ingredient to cure sore throat too. To prevent the ulcerated area from getting infected, make it a point to rinse your mouth with a little salt water. Remember, this won’t make the ulcer disappear, but it can help reduce the pain. Honey is a natural humectant. It helps reduce scarring and hastens the process of new tissue growth. This, along with its anti-microbial effect ensures faster healing of the mouth ulcer. Chew a few leaves of tulsi along with some water about three to four times every day. This will help in getting rid of ulcers faster and also have a preventive action against their recurrence. Applying a little coconut oil directly onto the mouth ulcer or chewing some coconut (fresh or dry) helps reduce pain and inflammation and hence, ulcers heal faster. Mix some sugar to crushed khus-khus seeds and consume this mixture for instant relief from ulcers. You could apply a little ghee directly to the ulcerated area, or drink a glass of buttermilk two or three times every day. Mouth ulcers left untreated generally go away in a week or so; with these home remedies, you can expect faster relief. However, if you notice an ulcer in the mouth that is persistently present although it does not cause you any pain, do not neglect it or try to treat it with home remedies beyond a few days. Make it a point to see a doctor soon because often, a painless mouth ulcer is one of the earliest signs of oral cancer.

I sleep very less, as less as 2-3 hours a day, still I don't feel sleepy, side effects, ulcers in mouth, dry mouth, and low concentration, what to do?

BDS
Dentist, Bangalore
Although there is no cure for mouth ulcers and they often reoccur, you may be able to reduce their frequency with good dental hygiene and by: avoiding foods that irritate your mouth, including acidic or spicy foods avoiding irritation from gum chewing brushing with a soft-bristled brush after meals and flossing daily, which will keep your mouth free of foods that might trigger a sore. Seek medical advice about mouth ulcers if you have: unusually large sores sores that are spreading sores that last three weeks or longer intolerable pain despite avoiding trigger foods and taking over-the-counter pain medication difficulty drinking enough fluids a high fever with the appearance of the mouth ulcer (s)

You need to get dental cleaning and polishing done from a dentist. If teeth are yellowish we need to find the cause for it. Also teeth whitening (bleaching) or esthetic rehab like laminates or veneers can help you.

My tongue started with a yellow/white coating beginning at the back but not continuing half way down the front. It was difficult to swallow/spit saliva and my that mildly burnt. I continued brushing my tongue and now there's a large, red, raw patch down the back, middle. I am currently in India (consuming mire than normal chili/spices) and I am smoking and drinking quite a lot, I assume these will assist with a slight diagnosis? Thank you.

MDS - Orthodontics, BDS
Dentist,
Hi from your complaint, the coating may be due to candidial infection. Because this is the one which goes off on scrapping leaving a raw area. Since this is in the posterior part of the tongue it would have spread to your throath making it difficult to swallow. This is one angle of viewing your problem. Other view is your throat would have been inflamed due to your habits and food making swallowing difficult. The raw area may be due to scrapping. Kindly conult your dentist as this problem has to be examined. Get well soon.

I got a small tooth cavity over my second premolar. Its paining since morning when I brushed with cold water. Since I am having exams I can not do any procedures right now. Please help me. Is it fine to take ibuprofen/diclofenac if its paining for two weeks. Is it good to do warm saline mouth gargle for this. Please reply.

MDS - Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery
Dentist, Chennai
You can take a painkiller if it is very severe pain. But its not advisable to do that for more than 2 or 3 days. Warm saline will help to a certain extent in reducing infection. But it may not help with pain. Please visit a dentist. He will just prescribe antibiotics and painkiller for three days and then you can start the treatment after exams as soon as possible. It is safer to use the drugs prescribes by the dentist and will also be effective reducing pain and infection temporarily.
