There are many reasons for sensitivity and depending on the exact cause, it can be broadly treated by 3 methods: a) Doing a filling/ desensitization treatment b) Doing gum treatment procedures c) Doing RCT. The appropriate treatment in your case can only be suggested upon confirmation of the exact cause.

For Caviies : Having cavities is not a serious problem at all. Cavities which are not too deep can be excavated and be restored by a dental cement. Cavities that are very deep can be cured by root canal treatment followed by crown ( cap ). For better prevention of cavities , 1- Follow proper brushing technique. 2- Brush twice a day 3-clean your teeth immediately every time after you eat fiid or liquids. 4- Undergo scaling ( cleaning of teeth) at the interval of every 5-6 months. 5- Visit dentist for regular oral cavity check up every 4 months for the early diagnosis and prevention of dental diseases. For Bleeding Gums: Due to food deposit onto tooth surfaces and into the gingiva, gingiva gradually got infection and becomes swollen and inflamed, results in bleeding of gums... First of all undergo scaling (cleaning of teeth) by a dentist - Use proper brushing technique. - Brush twice a day which is most important (at night specifically just before sleep and avoid any food or liquid except water when you finish your brush at night) - After each meal (i. E breakfast, lunch, dinner and any time when you take snacks) rub your finger on all tooth surfaces inside and outside and than do forcefull gargles 2-3 times. Jay Swaminarayan.

Teeth getting cracked in transverse direction at gum level. When will they break fully ?

BDS
Dentist, Delhi
A tooth has two parts. The crown which is visible in the mouth and the other is the root which is submerged in the bone that provides anchorage and support to the tooth. If a piece of the tooth is fractured or cracked from the tooth crown portion that does not mean that the whole tooth is fractured. A simple fracture of the tooth can be treated by fillings, crowns and rct followed by crowns. These will restore your tooth back to its former shape. If its a complex fracture involving root of the tooth then it should be extracted. Consult your dentist for examination of the tooth and a xray might also be needed if required.

The type of treatment you have for toothache will depend on the cause of the pain, so your dentist will examine your mouth and may carry out an X-ray to try to identify the problem. •If your toothache is caused by tooth decay, your dentist will remove the decayed area and replace it with a filling. •If your toothache is caused by a loose or broken filling, the filling will be taken out, any decay will be removed and a new filling put in place. •If the pulp inside your tooth is infected, you may need root canal treatment. This procedure involves removing the infected pulp and then inserting a special type of filling to seal the tooth and prevent re-infection. •If your toothache can't be treated using these methods, or if your tooth is impacted (wedged between another tooth and your jaw), it may need to be removed.

Sir as your mom is 64 yrs, I need to know whether there is any medical problems like hypertension, diabetes, thyroid etc. The 2nd step will be a full mouth digital xray which is called as opg, since she has many things in her mouth to be rectified. 3rd step will be the treatment. Now coming to expenditure every dentist follow their own rate plans depending on place like Bombay, Hyderabad, Delhi etc. Again in Hyderabad u have different rates for each treatment. Like jubilee hills, banjara hills etc few places r very high rates. So if u feel u want to contact me than my details r posted on lybrate so u can contact me in Hyderabad.

If the cut is deep you need to visit a dentist and see if it needs a suture. Please take the medication prescribed by the dentist. If the pain is very severe you can take a painkiller till the time you are able to visit a dentist.

Persons with uncontrolled diabetes are at more risk of developing gum disease & thereby losing their teeth early if the gum disease is not properly taken care of.

Respected doctor. Is it true that teeth cleaning and polishing weakens them and creates gaps between tooth. Thanks.

Respected doctor. Is it true that teeth cleaning and polishing weakens them and creates gaps between tooth. Thanks.
Hi mah, cleaning and polishing does not weaken your teeth. Gaps are created by the debris which forms inbetween the teeth. so when we remove the debris it is seen as gaps.

U can incorporate baking soda in your toothpaste and brush your teeth twice daily. Get professional scaling polishing done by a dentist. Your teeth will whiten to a certain extent. If still you are not satisfied or you want more whitening, get bleaching or professional tooth whitening by a dentist.

Non-Steriodal Anti-Inflammatory medications like Ibuprofen and Naproxen are the most common recommendations to be taken before and after the root canal treatment. However, every patient should consult a dentist as medical conditions for taking these medicines may vary.
