During pregnancy the size of vagina is increase or not? And which conditions is responsible for seizure?

DGO, MD, MRCOG, CCST, Accredation in Colposcopy
Gynaecologist, Kolkata
The size of the vagina does not increase in pregnancy. However it may become lax due to increased blood supply. Seizures or epilepsy in pregnancy can be of different types. Mostly no obvious pathology is found. Hence treatment is with antiepileptic drugs to control and prevent fits. Occasionally they can be due to tumor, infection etc;

Foods that Increase Sexual Stamina

M.D. homoeopathy, BHMS
Homeopath, Noida
Foods that Increase Sexual Stamina
  1. Watermelon: Watermelon is one of the richest natural sources of L-citrulline, an amino acid that can help make your erection harder. It’s also loaded with citrulline, an antioxidant that converts to L-arginine once it’s in the body. L-arginine stimulates the production of nitric oxide, which increases blood flow to the penis, strengthening erections.

  2. Nuts: How do they boost sexual stamina? Pistachios, peanuts and walnuts all contain the amino acid L-arginine, which is one of the building blocks of nitric oxide—a naturally occurring gas that helps guys maintain their erections. Plus, nuts also help reduce cholesterol levels. The less cholesterol you have in your system, the easier it is for blood to circulate throughout your body and down to your penis, which can help you maintain a firmer erection longer.

  3. Ginger: If you like your food like you like your lovers—sweet and spicy—you're in luck. Ginger is another food that can improve your sex life by aiding blood flow and improving artery health. According to a study in the International Journal of Cardiology, consuming a mere teaspoon of the stuff a few times a week is all you need to reap the heart-healthy benefits.

  4. Pomegranate juice: Some scholarly minds believe it wasn't an apple, but a pomegranate with which Eve tempted Adam in the Garden of Eden—and it wouldn't shock us if that were the case. A recent study published in the International Journal of Impotence Research discovered that pomegranate juice, rich in antioxidants that support blood flow, can help improve erectile dysfunction. Though this study was funded by POM Wonderful, animal studies have also shown that the elixir improves long-term erectile response.

  5. Wild Salmon: Trying to heat things up after your dinner date? Be sure to order the wild salmon. Why? The fish is a good source of omega-3 fatty acids, which aid nitric-oxide production, helping you stay hard. Plus, additional research has found that cutting back calories and sticking to a Mediterranean-style diet rich in produce, fish, whole grains and healthy fats (like omega-3s) can improve erectile function in men with metabolic syndrome.

  6. Spinach : Spinach has high arginine content. When this amino acid hits your system, it converts to nitric oxide, which helps initiate and maintain erections. Need another reason to add some green to your plate? Nitric oxide may also help speed muscle growth and recovery time. So not only will you perform better in bed, you’ll look hotter doing it, too.

  7. Oats: The popular breakfast cereal is a good source of l-arginine, an amino acid commonly used to treat erectile dysfunction. Plus, whole grains like oatmeal also help lower cholesterol levels. Having high cholesterol can lead to atherosclerosis, a condition that clogs and narrows arteries, impairing blood flow. This could eventually lead to heart problems, but you’ll likely notice issues below the belt first. The arteries surrounding the genital area are narrower than coronary blood vessels, so they’re more susceptible to clots. Simply put, the better your cholesterol levels are, the better your erection will be, too.

  8. Garlic : Researchers have confirmed that consuming the plant helps stop the formation of new fatty deposits, called nanoplaques, inside arterial walls. Yes, that includes the arteries leading to your penis, too. Keep your heart healthy and your erections strong by adding some of the kitchen staple to your weekly dishes.

  9. Banana : Bananas are good for sexual health. They naturally imbued with B vitamins that increases our stamina levels and helps to de-stress us. Bananas also contain tryptophan, which is an amino acid needed to produce serotonin, which is called the ‘feel good’ hormones. Bananas are high in potassium, used to produce sex hormones, increase our sex drive, and improve our heart system. They also contain bromelain, which is an enzyme that helps to improve the body’s blood flow and increase low libido problems.

  10. Peanut Butter : Peanut butter is rich in monounsaturated fats, which boosts dopamine levels. Dopamine is the responsible chemical compound that increases a woman’s sexual emotions. Peanuts also are high in zinc which has been proven scientifically to increase a man’s sperm count and the sperm’s motility.

During labor, the cervix dilates to allow a baby to pass through the endocervical (birth) canal. Like any tissue in the body, the cervix can become inflamed for a variety of reasons.

Inflammation of the cervix is calledcervicitis. According to the U.S. National Library of Medicine, more than half of all women will be affected by this condition at some point in their adult lives (PubMed Health, 2012).

The most common cause of this inflammation is an infection. Infections that cause cervicitis may be caused by sexual activity, but are not always. The condition is typically categorized as acute or chronic. Acute cervicitis involves a sudden onset of symptoms. Chronic cervicitis lasts for several months.

Acute cervicitis is typically caused by a sexually transmitted infection, such as:

herpeschlamydiatrichomoniasishuman papillomavirus (HPV)gonorrhea

It can also be caused by an infection due to other factors, such as an allergy to spermicide or condom latex, a cervical cap or diaphragm, or sensitivity to the chemicals found in tampons. Regular vaginal bacteria can also cause cervicitis.

Chronic cervicitis is common after childbirth. It may also occur during pregnancy because increased hormone levels cause increased blood flow to the cervix.

What Are the Symptoms of Cervicitis?

Some women are asymptomatic, but when symptoms are present, they can include:

abnormal vaginal bleedingpersistent gray or white vaginal discharge that may have an odorvaginal painpain during intercoursea feeling of pelvic pressurebackaches

If cervicitis progresses, the cervix can become very inflamed. In some cases, it can develop an open sore. Pus-like vaginal discharge is a symptom of cervicitis of this severity.

Part 3 of 6

Complications of Cervicitis

Cervicitis caused by gonorrhea or chlamydia can move to the uterine lining and fallopian tubes, causing pelvic inflammatory disease (PID). PID causes additional pelvic pain, discharge, and fever. PID that is untreated can cause fertility problems.

How Do I Know If I Have Cervicitis?

If you have symptoms of cervicitis, see your doctor for an accurate diagnosis. The symptoms of cervicitis can also be signs of other vaginal conditions. Sometimes, cervicitis is discovered during a routine exam if you aren’t having any symptoms.

There are multiple ways cervicitis can be diagnosed.

Pelvic Exam

For this test, your doctor will insert a gloved finger into your vagina while also applying pressure to the abdomen. This way, he or she can detect abnormalities of the pelvic organs, which include the cervix.

Pap Test

For this test, also called a Pap smear, your doctor will take a swab of cells from your vagina and cervix. These cells will then be tested for abnormalities.

Cervical Biopsy

This test is often performed only if your Pap smear detected abnormalities. For this test, also called a colposcopy, your doctor will insert a speculum into your vagina. He or she will then take a cotton swab and gently clean the vagina and cervix of mucus residue. Then, the doctor will direct a light and colposcope (a type of microscope) at your vagina to examine the area. He or she will then take tissue samples from any areas that look abnormal.

Culture of Cervical Discharge for Microscopic Examination

Your doctor may also decide to take a sample of the discharge from your cervix. He or she will then place the sample under a microscope. This test can determine if you have a yeast infection (candidiasis), bacterial vaginosis, or trichomoniasis, among other conditions.

Tests for sexually transmitted infections (STIs) may also be performed. If a specific infection is contributing to your cervicitis, the infection will be treated. This should heal the cervical inflammation.

Part 5 of 6

How Is Cervicitis Treated?

There is no standard treatment for cervicitis. Your doctor will determine the best course for you based on several factors, including your overall health, your medical history, the severity of your symptoms, and the extent of the inflammation.

Commonly used treatments include:

antibiotics to kill any infectionswatchful waiting, especially after childbirthcryosurgery or silver nitrate in severe cases when there is damage to cervical cells (Cryosurgery involves using freezing temperatures to freeze abnormal cells in the cervix, which then destroys them. Silver nitrate may also be used to destroy abnormal cells.)

When the cause of your cervicitis is determined, it can be treated. Without treatment, however, cervicitis can last for years, causing painful intercourse and worsening symptoms.

Can I Prevent Cervicitis?

There are ways to reduce your risk of developing cervicitis. Abstaining from sexual intercourse will protect you from cervicitis caused by an STI. Reduce your risk of contracting an STI by using a condom every time you have sexual intercourse.

Avoiding chemical solutions, such as douches and scented tampons, can reduce your risk of an allergic reaction. If you insert anything into your vagina, such as a tampon or diaphragm, follow the directions for when to remove it and how to clean it.

Thank you - Speak to Doctor for more clarification.

Homeopathic Treatment For Polycystic Ovarian Disease!

Homeopathic Treatment For Polycystic Ovarian Disease!

Polycystic Ovarian Disease or PCOD is a hormonal system disorder occurring in women of reproductive age. It is also known as Stein-Leventhal syndrome. PCOD refers a unique set of symptoms, which occur when there is a hormonal imbalance in a woman’s body. The symptoms include late or no periods, pain in the pelvic region, heavy bleeding during periods, weight gain, growth of facial hair, acne and difficulty in conception or getting pregnant.

Cysts develop in the ovaries, which cause hormonal imbalances like the levels of androgen get raised more than the normal limits. Although androgens are the hormones for male, they are present in minor quantities in normal females. With the increase of androgen levels, it creates a disturbance in normal ovulation cycle leading to disturbance in menses.

All PCOD patients are advised to lose weight and do regular exercise. The common symptoms include irregular menses, growth of facial hair and other parts of the body like arms, abdomen, chest, legs and fingers. An ultrasound examination can confirm the ovarian cysts. PCOD can lead to complications like type 2 diabetes, raised cholesterol levels, infertility, depression, cancer of uterus.

Losing weight helps to reduce high insulin level in the blood. In case of obesity, weight loss will reduce insulin resistance, stimulate ovulation and will improve fertility rate.

The conventional system of medicine has no cure for PCOD. Homeopathy, however, offers the best alternative as it concentrates on treating and curing the root cause of the problem. Homeopathy believes that the human body is designed by nature to keep itself disease free and when its own internal vitality is unbalanced, the body becomes prone to disease. Once the vitality regains its original balance, the human body is able to nurse itself back to health without any external aid.

The correct homeopathy treatment is by giving constitutional medicine after taking into consideration the physical and mental make -up of the patient. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a Homeopath.

She should immediately see a gynecologist. This could be dangerous. You are doing a very bad thing. Unprotected intercourse without marriage is not a right thing to do with your gf. Basically are you a friend or her enemy who can spoil her life.

Periods can be late by hormonal problems. If you did not had sex in the last month, then there is no reason to worry. Menses will come, you can wait for another 1 month to get spontaneous menses. If this problem is recurrent then you should get sonography and hormonal tests.

Dear Patient, Weight gain and loss both are a simple mathematics of calories. Its impossible as to what you have said. Please see the calories in the diet. If you workout and stick to a low calorie diet plan- There has to be a weight loss. Portions also to be mentioned in the diet. You cannot eat unlimited and expect wt Loss. SO- Check the calories and portions of food in the diet and create a calorie deficit everyday. All the best.
