Example I have red eyes for three days what should I do? (I am asking as I will get balance from earn talktime)
Hello dear there are many causes for redness of eyes mainly allergy, infection, inflammation and dry eyes etc. 1. Redness + itching: allergy 2. Redness + pain+ watering + decreased vision: infection 3. Redness + pain: inflammation 4. Redness+ foreign body sensation: dryness if there is only redness then it is normal as slight exposure to dust, temperature or air or eyes may be red in morning. Stress may also cause redness. I usually do not treat when there is only redness, you can 1. Blink a lot 2. Wash eyes with fresh water 3. Cold compresses 4. Use lubricating eyedrop like flogel these measures will help to keep your eyes healthy but it will not have any effect on redness (treating generalredness alone is not necessary also) having said that you should consult local ophthalmologist for proper examination and treatment.

Hello. I think you have allergic conjunctivitis. 1. Eye allergies, called allergic conjunctivitis, are a common condition that occurs when the eyes react to something that irritates them (called an allergen). 2. The eyes produce a substance called histamine to fight off the allergen. As a result, the eyelids and conjunctiva (the thin, filmy membrane that covers the inside of your eyelids) become red, swollen and itchy, with tearing and burning. The key to treating eye allergies is a. Avoid or limit contact with the substance causing the problem. B. Avoid rubbing eyes instead do cold compresses. Use antiallergic eyedrop along with lubricating eyedrop. This will help you I am very sorry dear to say that there is no medicine that can cure allergy. Only way is to stay away from all those things that you are allergic to.

Myopic power is inherited from either mother or father side & is basically hereditary in nature ,maximum increase in myopic power takes place between 13 to 21 yrs in male & between 13 yrs to 19 yrs in female because maximum body growth takes place between these periods. There is no direct medicine to check the increase in myopic power but with the help of balanced diet ,green vegetables & seasonal fruits  one can slow the speed in the increase of myopic  power, one can take the help of yoga pranayam, swimming, gym &these things definitely slow the speed of increase in myopic power.

You have a refractive error which when corrected to the power that you have mentioned helps you to visualise properly.Similarly with squint though it is a medical condition but not a permanent impairment and also it can be surgically corrected hence it cannot be termed as partial handicap or physical handicap. Therefore it is unlikely that such a certificate can be issued. However you can also check the rules mentioned in your state for qualifying for a status of handicap. This should help you to decide for further. Thanks.

Dear Lybrate User, *Dandruff is a common, non infectious skin disease of the scalp. It may be found even in face, ears, body folds, neck and front of the chest. It is caused due to faster shredding of the dead skin in the lesions. Thus the white dust gets seen on shoulders of the victim. *Ayurvedic treatments such as shirodhara, shirobasti helps not only to relieve dandruff and improve hair quality. They also help you to relieve stress and lack of sleep (which are also cause for dandruff). *As per Ayurveda, most of the skin diseases are related to blood impurities / Dosha imbalance in blood. If that is the cause, then medicine and treatments to treat impurity, then treatment for blood and liver detox *Consume more fluids, fresh fruit juice, avoid more tea, coffee, soft drink, dry, spicy, maida related junk foods. *Practice breathing exercise, yoga, meditation for detoxification.

My eye was artificial eye it becomes back side of the eye is blacked and bad smell why? Any problem are not?

FICO, DNB Ophtalmology

My eye was artificial eye it becomes back side of the eye is blacked and bad smell why? Any problem are not?
The cause for blackening and bad smell emanating from the artificial eye is most likely due to poor hygiene of the socket and the prosthesis (artificial eye). Proper hygiene and cleanliness of the prosthesis (artificial eye) as well as the eye socket is of paramount importance. You should clean the prosthesis (artificial eye) daily twice (minimum) with clean water and soap-subsequently allow it to dry completely and then wear it. In the empty socket, you should use antibiotic eye drops or ointments and keep it specifically clean. Currently, it would be a good idea to get it checked up personally by an eye specialist and initiate proper treatment for the same. Doing this would prevent further infection and deterioration of the empty socket as well as your artificial eye. Hope my suggestions helped you. let me know if you require further guidance. Take care, regards. Dr. Chaitanya.

Hello, I m a 30 years old computer software engineer and I suffered from dry eyes since years. I have a spectacles so can u help out for this

MBBS, DOMS

Using lubricating eye drops is the mainstay of treatment, indefinitely. It also depends on the severity of your dry eye condition. You may benefit from immunomodulator eye drops, in addition to lubricants. However, they should be prescribed only by an ophthalmologist, and followed up carefully.

Sir how to decrease my eye sight without any side effects occur and how two overcome this sight problem.
Hello,do these exercises for eyes to strengthen the eye muscles :- Warm your eyes. Rub your palms together to create heat, and then place them against your eyes for five seconds. Repeat this three times. Roll your eyes. Start by looking up and then slowly circle 10 times clockwise and 10 times counterclockwise. Focus. Hold a pen at arm's length, focus your eyes on it, and slowly bring the pen closer until it's about 6 inches away from your nose. Then slowly move it back, keeping your eyes focused on the pen, 10 times in all. Massage your temples. Using your thumb knuckles, massage your temples in small circles, 20 times in one direction and 20 in the other. Repeat the same actions above the mid-point of the eyebrows at the forehead, then below the eyes on both sides of the bridge of the nose. Take a mini-nap. Put your head back, close your eyes, and relax for 3 minutes. Insufficient sleep may weaken your vision, so shoot for 8 hours of sound sleep a night. Rest your eyes 10 minutes for every 50 minutes spent reading or in front of the computer. If your eyes feel overly tired, lie down and place cooling cucumber slices over your eyelids. Medication: Take homoeopathic medicine which will help you in preventing rather reducing the power of your eyes. Take Physostigma 6/ thrice daily for 1 month. Thereafter, revert back for further guidance.

How much time will it take for the treatment of squint eyes and what are total charges for treatment of squint eyes? ...
Hi, it depends on how many muscles to be treated which again depends on amount of eye deviation. It takes approx 15 mins for one muscle surgery so a 4 muscle surgery will take an hour .regarding logistics, in our hospital usually one muscle surgery costs around 15000 and afterwards its 10,000/- per muscle in adults. For children GA charges are extra.

I am 20 years old. My eyes become red if I got out or if I stare TV for 20 minutes. I have been using eye drops since...
Redness of the eyes has multiple causes associated with it. To enumerate a few common causes: (1) allergy of the eye. It is usually caused by improper eye hygiene. There is a tendency to rub the eyes with fingers, handkerchief, cloth, etc. This is not a good habit because it tends to transmit lots of virus, bacteria and dust into the eye. Allergy usually presents with symptoms of watering (clear water), redness and itching of the eye. (2) infectious conjunctivitis: this is usually associated with white-yellowish discharge. If so, it would be a good idea to go and show to an eye specialist in person. (3) foreign body lodged in the eye. This is more commonly associated with people who drive 2 wheeler vehicles without protection. It occurs more commonly in one eye. Foreign bodies that commonly get lodged are eyelashes, insect wings, small insects, dust particles, iron particles (more common with people working in the iron industry) the solution for a foreign body lodged in the eye would be better provided by an eye specialist at the clinic. (4) raised intraocular pressure: this is a condition known as glaucoma. It is not so common as the previous mentioned conditions. There is usually associated pain in the eyes. It is commonly bilateral (occurs in both eyes). There is usually a positive family history of glaucoma associated in a majority of the cases. (5) inflammation of the coats of the eyeball. This is known as" uveitis" it is also a relatively less common condition. There is associated pain. It would require a thorough eye checkup including the retina-thus a good idea would be to visit the eye specialist in person. From the symptoms described by you, it seems more likely to be a case of allergy. Maintaining the precautions and hygiene that I mentioned should probably work well for you. It would be much better if I could have a look at your eyes.
