The diagnosis of osteoarthritis needs to confirmed. If in fact you have osteoarthritis then you need to be assessed for comorbidities and need to be put on an intensive exercise program with control of pain using safe pain modfiying medications instead of pain killers. Ok firstly do x-ray. Put a towel roll under knee and press for 10 second then release repeat 10 time. Do hot fermentation and calcium supplements if it work then ok otherwise physiotherapy treatment.

Hello lybrate user, leg pain after running is common due to spasm in the leg muscles known as tibialis anterior which functions to pull the foot towards your body during walking, running. When a person runs or exerts an unaccustomed stress there occurs production of lactic acid in the muscle which is quite painful. Relief by: rest ice application stretching exercises will help a lot god bless you.

Dear Doctor, I am a 58 year old male. I was recently away on duty tour, and was on feet for about 8 hours followed by continuous sitting for about 8 hours. I have developed severe pain in right knee difficult to bend, and is stiff. Please advise remedy.

I have knee pain due to being overweight. What do I need to do and why does this knee pain happen only on one of the knees.

Advice. Avoid sitting cross legged. Avoid squatting- quadriceps exercises- lie straight, make a towel role and put it under the knee, press the keen against the role, hold it for 20 secs. Repeat 20 times twice a day. This will help relieve some pain. Core strengthening exercise- straight leg raised with toes turned outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Hams stretching- lie straight, take the leg up, pull the feet towards yourself, with a elastic tube or normal belt. Repeat 10 times, twice a day. Sports taping- stretch the tape from both ends and apply on the affected area contrast fomentation (hot and cold).

Hi am 31 years old married with no kids. Lately I hav gained weight overall sply at my lower body, tummy area and arms. What is the better n suggest exercise for weight loss. Cycling, running/jogging or brisk walking . Pls note these days I also have a bit of problem on my knees may be because of hard driving conditions so pls recommend keeping the knee part in mind. I am 25 year old and I am working out in gym regularly. From past few days I am facing some knee pain while performing squat.

Take rest for few days. Then buildup stamina gradually. Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Spring beds, folding beds or thick matress are harmful do hot fomantation. Paracetamol 250mg od & sos x 5days. Caldikind plus 1tab od x10. Do knee & general exercises. It may have to be further investigated. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take. For emergency treatment contacts your nearest hospital or family doctor. This could be due to oa knee &/or obesity. Physiotherapy along with medicines will help. Rule out diabetes & vit. D deficiency or any other metabolic disorder. Sleep on a hard bed with a soft bedding on it. Any way take caldikind plus (mankind) 1tab odx10days paracetamol 250mg od & sos x 5days do knee exercises. It may have to be further investigated make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take.

The location of the knee pain can vary depending on which structure is involved. With infection, the whole knee might be swollen and painful, while a torn meniscus or fracture of a bone gives symptoms only in one specific location. The severity of the pain can vary, from a minor ache to a severe and disabling pain. Some of the other findings that accompany knee pain are difficulty walking due to instability of the knee, limping due to discomfort, locking of the knee (unable to bend the knee) so I would like to suggest you to please consult a doctor personally, & get the pain diagnosed to help you to get proper treatment. There is a specific line of treatment in ayurvedic panchkarma & these are practically effective. Dear, generally it happens in mid thirty and beyond ages. Some times it may be due to some trauma also. You can do vigorous knee pumping exercise by which that fluid may be reabsorbed or consult physiotherapist.
