Constant Ringing in Ears - Causes + Treatment

Tinnitus is  perception of a ringing noise  This  signals some other underlying condition such as an ear injury or age related hearing loss. These sounds could range from being a buzzing, ringing, to a hissing sound.

Tinnitus may be caused by:

  1. Exposure to loud noise: loud noises  emanating from honking, firearms or heavy machinery  can lead to tinnitus.
  2. Aging: Aging can cause progressive loss of hearing and tinnitus.
  3. Blockage of the ear: due to earwax or fluid  present in the ears, leads to tinnitus.
  4. Fixation of the ear bone: Any stiffening of the middle bone in the ear could impair your hearing and result in this condition.

Certain factors such as smoking, age, sex (men are prone to this disorder) and heart related disorders increase the risks of being affected by this condition.

Treatment:
The treatment of this condition begins with the identification of the underlying condition, if any. The various treatment options are –

  1. Removal of earwax: Excess earwax has gotten rid of which can relieve symptoms of tinnitus.
  2. Suppression of noise: Certain machines, known as white noise machines, produce random sounds such as the sound of rain or the sounds of waves, thus eliminating the ‘hearing’ of sounds which are common to this condition.
  3. Medications: Certain medications  can help reduce the severity of the symptoms.

I usually get bad throat pain along with cough whenever I eat cold things like ice cream or drink cold drinks or so. Few doctors told it's tonsillitis and few told it's pharyngitis. The medicines work for a few days and again when I have something cold next time, I get same problem. Please help.

I am 24 year male, last one year facing tiredness, dull face, feel some weakness, hair loss, some time motion came with dilute like gel, if once I sit avg 30 minutes then stand that time I feel giddy, little memory loss.

Go for a hemoglobin test. For hair loss add protein in your diet. The most common cause is nutritional deficiencies of iron, folic acid, and vitamins c and b12. When the hemoglobin level decreases, it can cause fatigue, weakness, shortness of breath, dizziness, headaches, pale skin, brittle nails, rapid heartbeat and poor appetite. 1. Some good iron-based foods are liver, red meat, shrimp, tofu, spinach, almonds, dates, lentils, fortified breakfast cereals, almonds, oysters and asparagus. 2. You can also take an iron supplement. Let me do a private consultation r the correct dosage. 3. Eat foods rich in vitamin c like papaya, oranges, lemon, strawberries, bell peppers, broccoli, grapefruit, tomatoes and spinach. 4. You can also take vitamin c supplements after consultation, let me do a consultation. 5. Folic acid, a b-complex vitamin, is required to make red blood cells. So, a folic acid deficiency automatically leads to a low hemoglobin level. For all the above I can only suggest two best supplements cost you around 5000/- lost for 4 month, you will have a significant difference after usage and these a very help full after during periods and after pregnancy. Have a nice day. Let me suggest you the best food supplements cost you for 8000/- for 4 months, you will get a better health.

I have sinus problem since 6 years I am facing some hearing problem give some solution pls.

DORL, MBBS
ENT Specialist, Faridabad
Sinusitis, is nothing but a physiological disorder of nose which led by malfunctioning of aerodynamics of nose (temporary sinusitis, secondly it is because of repeated infections of the sinus (permanent sinusitis) sinuses regulations and air conditioning of the air which we breathe and to get the benefit of above we must have normal, well sized opened sinusitis and hence nose breathing is required, those who breathe from mouth, they have tendency to get more throat and lungs infections. Recurrent sinus infection, pollution, poor diet, spicy food, long term steam inhalation from nose, and allergies leads to thick discharge from nose. This thick mucus if stays in the sinuses, it leads to irritation of the sinus skin which is mucosa and this go on growing hence leads to permanent sinusitis this extra growth is called nasal polyps this is where patient needs surgical correction. If patient comes to nose surgeon at right time, doctor can revert his/her symptoms and surgery can be abandoned. But most of the time patient comes to us after trying everything which he/she hears from neighbors, tv channels, ayurvedic or homeopathic treatment. Sinusitis if patient does not take serious steps to correct might lead to cardiac symptoms, lung diseases, etc. Once there are nasal polyps you have to go for surgery immediately. For hearing problem, this could be due to recurrent cleaning of your nose so abruptly.
