Sir I am 43 years my cholesterol 156, hdl 40, ldl 85, trygly 189, post lunch sugar 202
any risk factor for heart.
HOME REMEDIES - Take 10-15 basil leaves and 10-15 neem leaves. Mix them and crush to a paste. Add to 1 glass of water. Mix well. Drink on an empty stomach once everyday. Warm water + 3teaspoon cinnamon powder + 2tablespoon honey .Drink this thrice a day. Drink 4litres of water per day. Avoid refrigerated water. Yogasanas & Pranayamas- Ardhmatyrndrasana, Shalabhasan, Vajrasana, Anulom-Vilom, Kapalbhati. Quit smoking. Smoking lowers HDL cholesterol levels and increases the tendency for blood to clot thereby increasing the chances of Haemorrhage and Cardiac Diseases. Use olive oil, sesame oil for making food. Arjun Ksheer Pak- Soak 2 teaspoon of arjun bark powder in 100 ml water at night. Next morning add 100 ml of milk in this and cook till the mixture is reduced to half. Strain with a cloth and drink 50 ml in morning and 50 ml in the night half hour after meals. This reduces cholesterol quickly and also strenghthens the heart muscles. Eat a plateful salad 1 hr before lunch and 1 hr before dinner. Take dinner before 8 pm. Do not drink milk. Have green tea. Follow the above strictly for 1 month and repeat your tests to see the results.

Weakening of Blood Vessels - Understanding the Types!

Weakening of Blood Vessels - Understanding the Types!

What is Aortic aneurysm?
The heart is the most important muscle in your body, and its primary job is to pump the blood across. The aorta is the largest blood vessel of the human body and is used by the heart to push the blood along. The Aorta is also one of the strongest vessels, but in some cases, due to the wear and tear condition the walls can weaken and bulge in what is called an aortic aneurysm. This can cause a rupture of the vessels as a result of which, blood gets leaked into the body.

Types of Aortic aneurysm:
There are two known types of aortic aneurysms. One of which is located in the chest and is known as the thoracic aortic aneurysm, and the one which forms in the abdomen is called an abdominal aortic aneurysm.

Thoracic aortic aneurysm
There are many causes of the Thoracic aortic aneurysm. Genes play a significant role in increasing the chances. The other factors can include high blood pressure, high cholesterol, infections and blockages in the arteries. Sometimes a traumatic injury due to an accident can also lead to the condition. The biggest disadvantage of the disease is that the symptoms do not occur in the early stages and only in their chronic stages they appear. Some of the symptoms include chest or back pain, difficulty in breathing, shortness of a breath and persistent cough. Diagnosis can be made by an X-ray, CT scan, and ultrasound. Medications can help to an extent in relieving the pain and symptoms but however, in some extreme cases surgery is required. During the surgery, a synthetic tube replaces the damaged artery- as a result of which the blood gets channelled without any hindrances.

Abdominal aortic aneurysm
In the case of an abdominal aortic aneurysm, the aorta that passes through your abdomen gets damaged. As in the event of the Thoracic aortic aneurysm, there are no visible symptoms initially. Symptoms if they appear can include a deep back pain and persistent pain the side of the abdomen. Dizziness and weightlessness can also be other factors. Once again as in the case of the Thoracic aortic aneurysm, high blood pressure and cholesterol levels can be the risk factors. The problem also gets aggravated when the person is a frequent smoker and drinker. The diagnosis can happen through an X-ray, CT scan or an ultrasound. Once diagnosed, medications can heal the symptoms to an extent. Routine checkups are usually done to check the condition. In the cases where the bulge is bigger, surgeries are done to relieve the damaged part.

As with many cases, a good lifestyle change and healthy habits can keep many of the conditions in check. The same goes for an aortic aneurysm too. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a doctor.

Maybe the dose of antihypertensives needs to be increased or a different class of drugs used or added. The high uric acid levels can also be controlled with either Allopurinol, at doses which are adequate, or with newer drugs which are more effective and safer.

Your need to get checked for cardiac profile. Regarding magnesium. Most of the studies show that it benefits the heart in general, not only the valves which are defective and may require a surgery. Magnesium is present in most of vitamins tablets and there is no separate tablet of magnesium. Most of the greens have it and banana is a risk have source of magnesium. But do get checked by a heart surgeon without fear.

Less intake of salt, if bw is high -that is to be reduced, proper sleep at night & ace inhibitors, calcium channel blocker are tobe given. Mind that if bp does not come down then poly therapy must be done to reduce bp.

I am a 27 year old, healthy (enough) male who has been getting intermittent, irregular and infrequent chest pains on and off for around 10 years.  During an'attack' the pain can be quite severe and sharp - I guess a bit like being stabbed. The pain is localised to the left side of my sternum and feels fairly deep (i. E. It cannot be palpated).  Attacks can last anywhere from a few seconds to a day or so, and tend to come in'clusters' that can be present for up to a week. There can be months between each cluster of attacks (if you get my drift!). Pain can sometimes be exacerbated when leaning forward, coughing, lying on my side or raising an arm (seems to always vary - and can sometimes not have any stimulates). During a'cluster' period and between attacks I can often feel a mild, underlying ache in my chest. This is easy enough to ignore however. I have had ECGs and chest xray that have all been fine, and am not affected at all during exercise - I can happily go out and run 10k with ease. Doctors have in the past ruled out gastro reflux as there was no tenderness on palpation of my stomach area, although I have sometimes thought that attack can follow a big meal and be accompanied by burping (although this may be my mind tricking me).  musculoskeletal problems have been mentioned, but why would attacks come in clusters and seemingly out of the blue?

There is sterno costal joint where a rib joins sternum. There could be arthritis of the joint. Arthritis presents normal x ray, normal ecg. Test to determine arthritis is check for tenderness. Press the joint with single finger. If it pains with medium pressure, it's arthritis. Another test is to take aspirin 2 tabs of 500 g three times a day for 3 days after food and with ranitidine, pain disappears. See an orthopedic doctor for full treatment.

Why are my feet burning all the time.
My reports are S.Uric acid 6.0
Blood sugar 87
s.cholesterol 169.
Hi, all these reports are normal. Burning feet syndrome can be inherited, or it can be caused by pressure being put on the nerves. Links also exist between this syndrome and diseases such as hypothyroidism, diabetes, and rheumatoid arthritis; links are also believed to exist between this syndrome and vitamin b (specifically pantothenic acid) deficiencies and renal failure. Another cause could be plantar fasciitis which is an inflammation (irritation and swelling with presence of extra immune cells) of the thick tissue on the bottom of the foot that causes heel pain and disability. Medication: need to find out the cause of burning. Meantime, take becosule (b-complex)/ 1 cap. Once daily for 3 months only. Revert.

Thanks for the query. There’s no overnight fix when it comes to healthy weight loss, but you can adjust your lifestyle to promote quick, natural weight loss for the benefit of your health and your appearance. Successful, long-term weight management needs to focus on more than the food you eat and the pounds you lose. It needs to focus on your overall health. Reshape your body and your lifestyle by adopting healthy habits and breaking unhealthy ones. Replace all processed foods in your diet with vegetables, fruits, whole grains, low-fat dairy, lean meats, eggs, legumes, nuts, seeds and seafood. Focus on the variety of whole, unprocessed foods you can eat instead of dwelling on the junk food you eliminated from your diet. Eat smaller portions at every meal and avoid going back for seconds. Take a smaller scoop of rice,  half of a piece of chicken instead of a whole piece and one less egg in your morning omelet, for example. Make time for breakfast every morning. Eating breakfast helps prevent overeating and is a habit of people who successfully lose weight. Pack to-go meals instead of eating convenience foods when you’re not home. Store foods like chopped fruits and vegetables or cooked grains, legumes, eggs and meats in your refrigerator so you always have something to grab when you’re in a rush. Buy fresh vegetables and fruits from the grocery store if you forget to bring healthful food from home. When you can’t avoid dining at a restaurant, opt for a salad as a starter, and always ask for the dressing on the side. Clear soups, lean meats, seafood and grain-based dishes like roti, whole grain bread are other good choices. Avoid excess salt in foods. Exercise for 30 to 60 minutes at least three times per week to build muscle and burn more calories. Pilates, strength training, aerobics, swimming, dancing and yoga or a sport like football are ideal choices. If you’re new to exercising, start with brisk walking and jogging. Adopt physically demanding hobbies like bicycling, hiking, jogging, power walking to promote faster weight loss. If you don’t have time for new hobbies, increase your physical activity with things like walking the dog, playing with the kids or jogging instead of driving to a nearby store or taking the stairs instead of the elevator.
