HI Lybrate USER…. Reason behind obesity is decreased BMR (BASAL METABOLIC RATE. 1) so question is HOW BMR DECREASED…. BMR is mainly depends upon functions of LIVER, THYROID, PANCREASE, and PITUITORY GLAND…A) hypo- functions of these organs reduces BMR and body becomes obese…B) hyper- functions of these organs increases BMR and body becomes lean…C) so if you want to reduce weight then we have to increase BMR…D) so to increase BMR follow few basic things…1) take solid food two times in a day only…2) try to take diet which is easy to digest and according to quantity of hunger…3) eat those fruits only which increases power of digestion and which easily digests LIKE…grapes, pappya, orange, pomgrenate, sweet lime, pineapple, watermelon, muskmelon, strawberry, mulberry…4) strictly avoid fruits which are hard to digests like banana, guava, custardapple, chiku, jackfruit…5) Try to take soups of green gram, lentil, horse gram…. 6) try to take meals inbetween 10 am to 9 pm…. 7) when you take meal do not eat anything for minimum 4 hours…. Hello, no she won't get pregnant as she was in her safe period. Her fertile period would be day 12-22 in a 28-30 days cycle.

You need to take proper physiotherapy sitting to reduce the pain first and then start with the proper exercises to build stregnth in your leg muscles. These include proper stretching n stregnth ning exercise s. Continue with vit d n calcium

Hi thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from fortis hospital, new delhi. You have mentioned your mri findings which is ok but actually it does not correspond to your thigh weakness because thigh nerves are at a higher level. In order to answer your question in a better manner, may I advise you to get: 1) a detailed neurological (motor, sensory, deep tendon reflexes) charting done by a trained physical therapist 2) your mri images and reports in an attachment also please tell me duration of your back pain and mode of onset. I would also like to ask you if it is associated with any leg pain or any other neurological symptoms like numbness, paraesthesias (electrical shock like abnormal sensations) or any weakness in limbs. Please also tell me about any associated symptoms like fever, weight loss etc. What medications you generally take and what has been your treatment history till now for existing problem. Do not hesitate to contact me if you need any further assistance.

To maintain a low body fat and/or lower body fat: 1. Exercise at least 5 times per week 2. Eat whole/unprocessed foods at regular intervals, while being aware of physical hunger/fullness cues 3. Sleep 7-9 hours per night 4. Don’t engage in extreme diets 5. Stay consistent with your habits 6. Incorporate non-exercise physical activity 7. Ignore food advertising You need a fat loss diet which comprises of whole grains like jowar, bajra, wheat, brown rice, pulses like moong, musoor, bengal gram, lots of vegetables, fruits, eggs, fish, chicken, paneer, healthy oil, nuts and seeds. You need to eat them in right proportion. Avoid eating sugar and sweets, refined foods like maida, noodles pasta, White rice and products, bread. Drink a lot of water.

Lost a lot of weight around 19-21 kgs. Post weight loss thighs have become saggy & breasts deflated. Gained 5 kgs back in last 3 months again to help with excess skin. I need to fix this without surgery. Am 23 years old. Will weight training and gaining weight cure this? I am healthy. Weight gain can reverse this problem? Please help. I can not go forward for marriage because of this problem. Please provide some help. Thankyou.

You are confused between weight loss , sagging skin & weight gain. Gaining weight will not help you for sure. Eat healthy but no crash dieting which can lead to saggy organs if dieting is not combined with exercise. Moderation should the mantra.losing 21 kgs is difficult and you must have starved to do so. At 23 if getting married is bothering you , then think about a healthy bride who has to adjust and get oriented with a new family. Can you afford to fall sick or eat special diets to remain slim and trim and be body obsessed only? Start eating a healthy high protein diet with no sugars or bad fats . getting massage will tone up muscles besides increasing the blood flow evenly to entire body. simple walking / swimming is a good outdoor exercise but if pollution or humidity bothers , then use a stable exercise cycle at home and do push ups with weights for arms. do yoga and meditation for weight loss and for stability. good luck.

To lose weight, you have to maintain an input-output ratio. Whatever food you eat contains the input calories which gives you the output calories in the form of energy. If your input calories is too much, you are likely to put on weight. The best way to lose weight is to exercise or spend the additional calories accumulated in your body in the form of fat. The other most important thing is to eat wisely. Try to cut down the excessive calories you are eating and make sure whatever you eat is healthy. Some tips to lose weight - 1. Have more fruits and vegetables than junk food and juices. 2. Avoid sugar as much as you can 3. Exercise 3-4 times a week. 4. Have an early dinner, preferably before 8 p. M. 5. Do not starve yourself. Eat small meals 5 times a day. 6. Have barley soup in dinner and avoid rice at night. 7. Drink lots of water daily.

Kindly show me a photograph of the affected part. Rule out diabetes & vit. D deficiency or any other metabolic disorder. Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Spring beds, folding beds or thick matress are harmful Do hot fomantation. Paracetamol 250mg od & sos x 5days. Caldikind plus 1tab od x10. Do neck, back & general exercises. It may have to be further investigated. You will need other supportive medicines also. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take. If it does not give relief in 4-5days, contact me again. Do not ignore. It could be beginning of a serious problem.

Dear lybrate user, for gaining weight take good diet is advisable. But before that your digestive system must good to digest food and elimation of vitamins, minerals etc sholud be used body and ultimately it helps in weight gain. Take more green leafy vegetables, rice, potato, sugar, sweets, fruits, fermented food, ghee, oil, ice cream, clod drinks etc food which contains high calory. Avoid too much physical as well as mental work. Don't supress the natural urges of urine, stool etc. Don't take opposite diet like milk and carrots, milk and sour fruits etc. Manage the stress and anger. It is necessary. For stomach pain take tablet Meftalspas-Ds eight hourly if necessary and Take tablet Pan-D before breakfast on empty stomach for three months and always to take a gap of a week before starting it again only if necessary and Avoid spicy food items and not to eat junk food and we also need to avoid peanuts and potatoes in our daily diet.
