Hi, it has three main causes: lack of blood flow to the kidneys direct damage to the kidneys themselves urine backed up in the kidneys these can happen when you: have a traumatic injury with blood loss are dehydrated go into shock during a severe infection called sepsis have a blocked urine flow, which can happen with an enlarged prostate take specific drugs or are around certain toxins get complications with a pregnancy, such as eclampsia and pre-eclampsia, or related hellp syndrome kidneys that don't work well for longer than 3 months is called chronic kidney disease (ckd). It's dangerous, because you may not have any symptoms until a lot of damage, that often can't be repaired, has happened. Diabetes (types 1 and 2) and high blood pressure - both are the most common causes.

My bp is high, on medication now, I want to reduce my weight fm 82 to 72 kg. Guide me.

1. Whole-grain bread. Research shows that people who follow a weight-loss program incorporating whole-grain breads, cereals, and other foods lose more body fat from the abdominal area than those who eat only refined-grain foods, like white bread and rice. 2. Low-fat milk and yogurt. Scientists have found that the more calcium in fat cells, the more fat those cells will burn. In one study, two groups of overweight mice were put on a restricted-calorie diet, but one also got calcium supplements. The no-calcium mice lost 8 percent of their body fat, compared to 42 percent among the mice that did get calcium. 3. Lean protein. Good sources of protein, such as lean meats, eggs, and beans, help keep your blood sugar stable. The result? you? ll feel full longer and get a boost in energy? and that will help you burn more belly fat. Consult me in private for detailed treatment and to ascertain your personality symptomatically.

Discovered hypertension in the age of 19, for which many tests were done, but all of them were found to be normal. Finally my doctor (cardiologist) prescribed me CTD-T 6.25/40 on a daily basis and after that my bp was normal. Now I am consuming the medicine in alternate days, still my BP is normal. Should I take it in alternate days or on a daily basis?

Hello keep it on daily basis, Can reduce it to 1/ 2 daily and continue the same for 3 months atleast. Afterwards remove CTD component and continue only 20 mg telmisartan. Later with life style modifications and diet you would be able to wean of from medication. Keep your Cardiologist in loop during the process and follow his/her advice.

Treatment depends on the symptoms and any major untoward incident in your life and if you can control it without medication than it's better to get it checked every six months.

Some holes do get okay as baby grows. You need a specialist who will evaluate the symptoms like blueness on skin, body temperature along with other symptoms suggesting need for an operation. Good luck.

Your chronic problems are under control and doctor has suggested some eye drops for cataract which is developing and you do not want to get operated as you have no difficulty in seeing. Why do you worry about some cataract which is just developing but not giving you any visual problems? do get your eyes examined frequently for assessment of dm & bp.

Dear Ms. lybrate-user, I can understand what you are going through. Costochondritis can only be diagnosed if the treating doctor has a very high degree of suspicion for the problem. Doing hot fomentation 2-3 times a day followed by some good analgesic gel may help you. If the problem is more & is disturbing you very much then I would suggest that you get in touch with orthopaedic surgeon who may advise you some injection. I hope this helps you.

The following building blocks can help you get a good start on improving your physical fitness: - Be active every day. Move instead of watching TV, surfing the Internet, or vegging on the couch. Exercise at least 30 minutes a day—at least 60 minutes a day if you have a weight problem. - Exercise vigorously—greater than 60 percent of maximum effort—if you want to improve fitness. Engage in a variety of activities, including weight-training, cardio, stretching, and muscle endurance exercises. - Eat a healthy diet. Eat a variety of foods, emphasizing fruits, vegetables, whole-grain products, and lean meats. Avoid simple sugars, saturated and trans fats, excessive amounts of alcohol, and desserts. - Take Omega-3 Fish oil supplements for at least 3 months. And add Flaxseed to your diet. - Take care of obvious health problems. See your physician regularly for checkups. Get treated for known problems, such as high blood pressure and high blood fats. Stop smoking. Do back-pain-prevention exercises if you have a back problem. - Enjoy life and reduce stress. Stress is the root cause of many health problems. Indians work hard trying to make it in a competitive society. Take time to enjoy your friends and family. Stay healthy, stay strong.
