Rather than fear diabetes, please go and find out if you really have it. Get your blood tested. Do the following tests: FBS, 2 hour PPBS & HbA1c.

Dear, enlarged prostate causes the bladder muscles to work harder to push urine out. Over a long period of time, this leads to thickened bladder wall and overactivity of bladder muscle. Once overactive bladder develops, it can act spontaneously without our voluntary control. This is the common reason for not able to control urine in prostate enlargement. Other reasons are bladder stone or infection. Please get an ultrasound abdomen with post-void residual urine. Based on prostate size, bladder wall, residual urine, serum psa and urine routine examination findings, a urologist will be able to treat you better. If you do not have much residual urine, infection or stone, then you can be started on drugs to relax bladder (anti-cholinergics). This will help you with improving the control of urination.

Homoeopathic Remedies for Urinary Tract Infection

BHMS
Homeopath, Ajmer
Homoeopathic Remedies for Urinary Tract Infection

Urinary tract infection is a type of infection that occurs in the urinary tract of the body. This disorder tends to occur more in women than men as the length of the urethra is shorter in women, thus increasing chances of this infection. The most common cause of urinary tract infections is the E. Coli bacteria, especially in the lower part of the urinary tract consisting of the urethra and the bladder.

Homeopathy adopts a holistic approach to urinary tract infections, the remedies aim to treat the underlying causes of the infection. The treatments are free from any side effect and have a beneficial impact on your overall wellbeing. Before prescribing a remedy, the practitioner diagnoses by asking about your medical history, work habits and your mental health. Based on a thorough diagnosis, remedies will be prescribed.

Some of these homeopathic remedies to treat UTIs include:

  1. Apis: Apis is recommended if you have symptoms such as experiencing a burning feeling after urination and less urine. You may have swelling around the eyes and also may not experience much thirst. The condition tends to worsen in hot weather conditions.
  2. Cantharis: Cantharis is recommended if you experience constant urges to urinate; however, the amount of urine may be very low. Apart from this, you might also experience intense pain while urinating along with traces of blood in the urine. Back pain is another complication that occurs along with the above mentioned symptoms.
  3. Sarsaparilla: This remedy is recommended when you experience pain in the lower abdomen and the back. Your urine may also contain blood and sediments.
  4. Benzoic acid: In case your urine has a strong odor, benzoic acid may be the recommended remedy. It is also used to treat pain in the urethra which flares up when you are not urinating.
  5. Staphysagria: This remedy is used when UTIs develop as a result of any sexual activity. You may experience a constant urge to urinate and feel pressure in the bladder. Prostatic enlargements which cause infections in the urinary tract can also be treated using this remedy. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a homeopathy and ask a free question.

I am 48 single male healthy drink lot of water upto 4 lts daily urinate accordingly but during urination 80-10-10% instead of ine go. Kindly advice. Non diabetic, fasting 138 no bp/sugar.

FIMSA, MD-Nephrology, DM - Nephrology, Critical Care Medicine, MBBS
Nephrologist, Delhi
Firstly intake of 4 litres of water is excessive, cut it down to about 2. 5litres. Secondly your fasting blood sugar level of 138 is suggestive of diabetes. You should get yourself checked thoroughly, meanwhile get Hba1c done.

My father had an aortic valve replacement on 26 th march 2015. And after the surgery from 31st march onwards he is facing some obstruction while urination. He says urination is not free flow as before.

Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS), MS - Urology, MBBS
Urologist, Ahmedabad
Dear , I am sure he must have been catheterised at the time of surgery. If so infection is likely. So get a urine examination done. If no pus cells found then he must have enlarged prostate and i. V. Fluids must have precipitated weak flow of urine. In that case alpha blockers should be started if he is retaining urine after urination. At the same time see that he is not constipated as many patients develop constipation after surgery due to bedridden state and painkillers. Dr. Kiran mehta.

I'm 28 yrs old man. My bilirubin is normal, lft test result is normal. I drink about 4 lt water daily. Sometimes at morning, daytime or night my urine color is yellow since last 6 mnths. Digestive or gas problem is frequently happened. I dont drink any alcohol or dont smoke. Why is urine yellow, any problem?

Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS), MS - Urology, MBBS
Urologist, Ahmedabad
Dear , 1. Occasionally urine is yellow because at that time your body does not have any extra fluid to throw out so at that time your kidney is passing all waste products in as little waiter as possible resulting in concentrated urine which would be yellow. It is not a problem and do not worry about that just drink as bit more. 2. Your gastric problem may be due to acid dyspepsia. Try ranitidine 150 mg twice a day 1 hour before meals or 10-20 days and avoid spicy, sour and fermented food.

You should follow these very important and simple things to prevent stone formation & to get sure treatment of kidney stones: 1. First take a lot of fluid daily. The more you drink water and fluid, the less amount of deposit accumulate in kidney. So you have to make your kidneys healthy just only by drinking 2-3 liters (10-12 glasses) of water. 2. Stones are mainly formed of calcium and oxalate. So take very low quantity of milk, cheese, cream and dairy products. 3. Do not take strawberry, plum, spinach and tomatoes. These fruits and vegetables are rich in oxalate. So avoid them to prevent from kidney stones. 3. Stop taking supplementary vitamin d and calcium medication. 4. Avoid animal protein diet- eggs, red meat, fish in diet. 5. Take less amount of salt, pickle and western foods. They have high amount of sodium. So avoid it. 6. There are multiple disorders which might produce the above mentioned symptoms, it could be Fissure/coccydynia or even a pilonidal sinus. It is suggested to get clinically examined by a surgeon for a confirmed diagnosis and therapy for the same. However though the few symptoms which you have mentioned are not alarming.
