Melasma is a common skin condition characterized by brown or brown-grey patches, typically on the face. Though this condition usually affects women, it can also occur in men. Patients with a family history are more likely to develop melasma than others. Though the exact cause is often unknown, pregnancy, birth control pills, cosmetics, hormones, certain medications and sun exposure often trigger this condition. It usually occurs on the cheeks, forehead and even on the nose. People with dark hair and dark eyes and even dark skin are more prone to melasma because they have more pigment in their skin to begin with. It is caused by a combination of hormones and ultraviolet light. Ultraviolet rays are present even on a cloudy day so it is important to wear a broad-spectrum of minimum SPF 30 sunscreen every day. That is because ultraviolet light reaches the earth's surface and the surface of your skin at all times. Melasma can be treated by skin creams which can be prescribed only by a dermatologist after complete history and examination. If the topical creams do not work then we have peels, other local spot treatments and also laser therapy. A series of laser treatments may be necessary. It usually requires 10 or more treatments two weeks apart. Each patient is unique and requires a different number of treatment sessions. The number of treatments depends on how dark the discoloration is, how deep the pigment is and the natural color of the skin.

Baking soda is a good way to get rid of red marks on face. When it is made into a paste and applied onto the face, the baking soda exfoliates your skin to minimize annoying acne scars. Mix one teaspoon of baking soda with two teaspoons water and leave on skin for a while before rinsing off.

Hi, Eruptions on scalp may indicate one of the following disorder: 1) Seborrheic dermatitis:Sebborheic dermatitis often appears in red patches called dandruff on the scalp. Age, stress, fatigue, weather extremes, oily skin, infrequent shampooing can cause it.Use Selsun shampoo if this is the cause. 2) Tinea capitis or Ringworm of scalp:. It will appear as itchy, red, raised scaly rashes . The infected area is generally more red on the outer areas and lighter towards the center, which gives it a distinct “ring” formation. Individuals require antifungal treatment. 3) Allergy: Often, a rash on the scalp may be due to an allergic reaction from a cosmetic, soap or detergent. Ingredients in shampoo, conditioner, hair gel or other beauty products may irritate the skin causing a rash. Itching, swelling or small pimple-like bumps can accompany the rash, which can cause a secondary bacterial infection if a sufferer constantly scratches it. 4) Psoriasis – This is a chronic autoimmune disease that causes raised, reddish, scaly patches on the skin or scalp. This is also accompanied by similar patches on other parts of body. This disease needs proper treatment. Revert back for any other guidance.

Hello- Tip No #1: Exfoliate your skin once a week. This will help remove dead cells and stimulate hair growth. Tip No #2: Wash your skin with warm water using a mild cleanser twice a day. Clean skin accelerates hair growth. Tip No #3: Eucalyptus helps promote facial hair growth, so use a moisturizer with eucalyptus as the main ingredient and massage it on your face to grow your beard faster. Tip No #4: Certain vitamins and minerals help increase the speed at which facial hair grows. Include Vitamins A, B, C and E in your diet as they speed up the hair growth process. Tip No #5: Amla oil is a natural remedy to increase facial hair growth. Massage your skin with amla oil and leave it on for 15-20 minutes. Rinse your face with cold water and then clean it.

PRP for Hair fall and Skin Rejuvenation - Know About It!

MBBS, DPD-Cardiff (U.K)
Dermatologist, Noida
PRP for Hair fall and Skin Rejuvenation - Know About It!

PRP is a latest, state of the art technology that employs non-surgical methods to stimulate hair growth in case of hair loss.

Advancements in research have enabled scientists to make new inroads in the field of wound and tissue healing. The result of these researches is PRP, which is a natural way to rejuvenate your scalp, skin and stimulate your hair growth.

How does PRP Work?

The presence of mesenchymal stem cells and autologous blood products in human blood contain specific growth factors that assist in tissue regeneration and healing. PRP has been used to heal skin and wounds for over two decades now. Apart from this, it finds use in oral surgery, cosmetic surgery and neurosurgery as well. It is also the promising treatment to promote hair growth.

Benefits:

  • It is a progressive healing treatment that doesn't require surgery.
  • Simple, rapid and highly effective system.
  • Autologous (from patient's own blood).
  • The system is biocompatible and xeno-free, so there shouldn't be any safety concerns.
  • An increase in the concentration of platelets can be observed.
  • It helps in the elimination of undesired erythrocytes, which significantly decrease the fibroblast proliferation.
  • Contains growth factors that help in the stimulation of growth of the hair follicles.
  • Can be performed preoperatively, intraoperatively, or post operatively.

PRP Facial (Vampire Facial)
The vampire facial involves topical application of the PRP combined with aeration of the skin with Micro Needling. The platelet-derived growth factors stimulate a healing response that reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles while improving the skin’s tone and texture. PRP naturally improves all aspects of skin health:

  • Reduces fine lines and wrinkles
  • Improves skin’s texture and tone
  • Naturally increases collagen production
  • Pore refinement
  • Creates a natural glow
  • Reduces acne scars

PRP Hair Restoration
PRP Hair Restoration is a non-surgical solution for hair loss in both men and women. Platelet Rich Plasma contains growth factors that naturally stimulate the development of new hair follicles while improving the health of existing hair follicles.

What to expect:
First, a blood sample is obtained and processed to extract the Platelet Rich Plasma. A topical anesthetic is applied to numb the area being treated. The PRP is then administered with a fine needle in a series of injections on the scalp.

Mild swelling and redness can be expected 1-2 days following the treatment. It is recommended to avoid vigorous activity until the swelling has subsided. There is no other downtime following the procedure. New hair growth can be seen as early as 2 months, but is typically evident between 5-8 months and will continue to improve up to a year after treatment.

Who should Not Have PRP treatment?

Those with heavy drug and smoking issue should avoid PRP. Also, those who drink a lot of alcohol should avoid PRP. Those suffering from platelets related ailments, sepsis, chronic liver disease, thrombocytopenia, hyperfibrinogenemia, systemic disorders and cancer should also stay away from PRP.

Conclusion

At length, PRP is a boon for all those who aren't fans of surgery or the ones who prefer a more aggressive but non-surgical approach for treatment to their ailments. The results might vary from patient to patient, but it is certainly one of the most promising technologies to stimulate hair growth and rejuvenate your skin, and the results are quite convincing. So decide wisely! If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a Dermatologist.

Hair loss, also known as alopecia or baldness, refers to a loss of hair from the head or body. Baldness can refer to general hair loss or male pattern hair loss. People have between 100,000 and 150,000 hairs on their head. The number of strands normally lost in a day varies, but on average is 100. In order to maintain a normal volume, hair must be replaced at the same rate at which it is lost. The first signs of hair thinning that people will often notice are more hairs than usual left in the hairbrush after brushing or in the basin after shampooing. Styling can also reveal areas of thinning, such as a wider parting or a thinning crown More than 95% of hair loss in men is male pattern baldness (MPB. MPB is characterized by hair receding from the lateral sides of the forehead (known as a "receding hairline") and/or a thinning crown (balding to the area known as the ‘vertex’). Temporary or permanent hair loss can be caused by several medications, including those for blood pressure problems, diabetes, heart disease and cholesterol. Any that affect the body’s hormone balance can have a pronounced effect: these include the contraceptive pill, hormone replacement therapy, steroids and acne medications. Traction alopecia is most commonly found in people with ponytails or cornrows who pull on their hair with excessive force. In addition, rigorous brushing and heat styling, rough scalp massage can damage the cuticle, the hard outer casing of the hair. This causes individual strands to become weak and break off, reducing overall hair volume. Trichotillomania is the loss of hair caused by compulsive pulling and bending of the hairs. Onset of this disorder tends to begin around the onset of puberty and usually continues through adulthood. Due to the constant extraction of the hair roots, permanent hair loss can occur. Traumas such as childbirth, major surgery, poisoning, and severe stress may cause a hair loss condition known as telogen effluvium, in which a large number of hairs enter the resting phase at the same time, causing shedding and subsequent thinning. Hair loss often follows childbirth without causing baldness. In this situation, the hair is actually thicker during pregnancy due to increased circulating oestrogens. After the baby is born, the oestrogen levels fall back to normal prepregnancy levels, and the additional hair foliage drops out. A similar situation occurs in women taking the fertility-stimulating drug clomiphene. Hypothyroidism (an under-active thyroid) and the side effects of its related medications can cause hair loss, typically frontal, which is particularly associated with thinning of the outer third of the eyebrows (also seen with syphilis). Hyperthyroidism (an over-active thyroid) can also cause hair loss, which is parietal rather than frontal. Temporary loss of hair can occur in areas where sebaceous cysts are present for considerable duration (normally one to several weeks). Gradual thinning of hair with age is a natural condition. This is caused by an increasing number of hair follicles switching from the growth, or anagen, phase into a resting phase, or telogen phase, so that remaining hairs become shorter and fewer in number. An unhealthy scalp environment can play a significant role in hair thinning by contributing to miniaturization or causing damage. Air and water pollutants], environmental toxins, conventional styling products and excessive amounts of sebum have the potential to build up on the scalp. This debris can block hair follicles and cause their deterioration and consequent miniaturization of hair, It can also physically restrict hair growth or damage the hair cuticle leading to hair that is weakened and easily broken off before its natural lifecycle has ended. In homeopathy after proper case taking medicine will be prescribed accordingly. So pls consult either to a homeopath nearby your residence or you can consult me via Lybrate. General medicines are arnica, jaborandi which are easily available in oil base. Some very good shampoos are also available in homeopathy which prevent hair fall and early greying of hairs.

I have a pimples problem, it was spread all over my face please suggest me some home remedies to over from it.
These are the methods to treat pimples fastly - • Do not take stress and do exercise daily such as running, jogging and long breathing exercises. • Do YOGASANA daily. Especially do SINHASANA & SARVANGASANA daily. • Use oil free face wash and drink 7 -8 glass of water daily. • Do not touch your pimple because your finger transfer bacteria to it and make it worse. If you touch it then clean your face with water. • Mix black pepper powder in some water to make paste & apply on the pimples three times a week. • Take cucumber and papaya pulp. Mix it well and add 1 tablespoon Turmeric. Make a paste and apply it on face and leave it for 15 minutes. • Steam your face to open the pores, which in turn clear the skin. Steam your face for a couple of minutes. • Take 2 teaspoon of RAKTASHODAK SYRUP of BAIDYANATH company once a day.

Use. Arnica hair oil and arnica montana shampoo. Diet = eat one carrot daily. Eat one glass milk daily. Eat green vegetables more. Eat nuts, almonds daily. Protein is important for hair. Hair is actually made out of protein, and when you aren't getting enough, your hair stops growing. Women need at least 46 grams of protein per day to stay healthy, and men need at least 56. The best way to get protein is through your diet, by eating meat, fish, poultry, beans, tofu, nuts, and leafy greens. Don't use heat tools on your hair. Using a hair dryer, curling iron, straightener, and any other heat tools is damaging to hair. It can damage both the hair shaft and roots, making the hair fall out more quickly than it otherwise would. Don't towel dry your hair vigorously; just pay it gently with a soft towel. ◦Never brush your hair when it's wet. Use a wide-tooth comb. To get tangles out, hold the hair halfway up the shaft and work from the bottom up, so you're not pulling on your scalp. ◦Don't wear tight hairstyles that will keep your hair pulled taut from your scalp. Wear it down and free as much as possible. Give yourself a scalp massage with other oils. The very act of gently massaging your scalp with a beneficial oil can help promote hair growth. Massaging your scalp helps to slough away dead skin and unplug hair follicles that are clogged, stimulating new growth. You can add a few drops of rosemary or cedarwood essential oil to make the treatment even more effective. .take care.
