Vertigo is very common these days in any age group due to excess of noise exposure and damage to inner ear, humming sound, whistling and giddiness are the problems which are getting in people are very common these days, these get complicated when they are not taken care of at proper time whistling or buzzing in the ear is getting commoner these days in people of all ages. Most common causes is wax or any object in the ear, after getting your ears clean these gets over. But if ears are already clean than this is worrisome. Common causes which are responsible are high cholesterol diet, alcohol, smoking, loud noises, cervical spondylosis, trauma (self or inflicted) over the ears. If this is the situation than report to your ent doctor immediately tinnitus is basically due to hampered blood supply to ears due to which ears start dying. As this process starts a person starts hearing noises. When a person starts hearing noises then it is already late diagnosis as these noises gets heard by someone when they are of 40 db intensity, below that threshold these noises are not heard. So it is already to late and the damage has become permanent. Problem with these noises are that we can control at what level person goes to his specialist otherwise these noises keep on increasing and can give you headache frustration and depression. Now a days tinnitus maskers are available which help you to lead your life peacefully. Giddiness is never the side effect of medication.

Mr. lybrate-user, If you have confirmed diabetes then taking anti - diabetic treatment is the only option, to control blood glucose. In addition to appropriate medicine regular exercise for more than 1 hour a day and diet control also are equally important. As regards food intake, you should avoid sweets, deep fried foods, junk foods, pastries and other bakery items, sweetened aerated drinks (colas) and fructose corn syrup containing products. Consume good deal of green leafy vegetables, salads and fruits like papaya, pomegranate, orange, sweet lime, apple, pear and guava. With good glucose control fruits intake should be about 100 g a day. In this communication we are supposed to give only general guidelines and no prescriptions. So if you want specific drugs to be prescribed please come in a private communication with all details like Fasting, PP blood glucose levels, HbA1c%, present drugs if any, dietary pattern and extent of daily exercise. Based on those details I will be able to guide. Thanks.

Loss of appetite may be due to worm infestation. Mentain hygiene for food. Take antihelminheti med. You may take ajawain with your food regularly for one month. It is good appetizer and deworming agent and generally used in kitchen. And for acidity and loss of appetite take pomegranate juice after lunch. Avoid spicy and deep fried food.

Hello. For sore throat, need to follow the points: - Avoid cold things, fried/ oily food. -Avoid excessive use of voice/ roughly using voice or else shouting. - Gargle with salt and warm water solution thrice daily. - Take Ginger tea. - Avoid excessive cold air or sudden change of temperature (like coming from heat/ sunlight to an A/C room). - Can cover your throat with a stole. Take homoeopathic medications - Schwabe's Alpha- CF/ 1 tab. And SBL's Stodal cough lozenges – all of them thrice a day daily- for 3 days.

I'm suffering from throat infection. It's just from yesterday. Actually I had tonsils n been removed by a doctor since years but I'm getting this throat infection every winter season like little burning sensation n pain but sometimes fever too, I n the place of tonsils removed. But it's not sever every time. It could be mostly 2-3 days to recover if it sever but I want to get out of this problem permanently. So I'm requesting you to suggest what should be done. Thanking you.

First of all pl start drinking lukewarm water esp in winter. At least in the morning take 1-2 glasses of water boiled with ginger and holy basil leaves. Rest of the day may take simple lukewarm water and if possible after every heavy meals (But try to take light meaks). Gargle of pure turmeric powder minimum two times a day. Report after 7 days. If need be we 'll write ayurvedic medicine for you too.

If you have recurrent attack of headache 1.It could be a tension headache due to stress, strain or migraine. 2.Avoid stress, physical and mental exertion, take adequate sleep for 7-8 hours daily 3.Go for regular exercise 4.Practice yoga, meditation and deep breathing exercise to calm your mind, control your emotion and relieve stress 5.Check for refractive error, sinusitis Hemoglobin, BP 6. Consult Neurologist to rule out other causes of headache 7. consult for further advice
